and Smuggling
Society loses health,
the country loses respect.
 Damage to the food production and marketing
chain (technical performance).
 Close relationship between the organized crime
and farmers, as well as the subsidizing of such
criminal organizations actions.
 The empty packages of the smuggled agrochemicals
are not properly disposed of.
 Smuggling and counterfeit closes several jobs
categories and does not allow the creation of new
ones.
 Tax evasion harms the Brazilian society as a whole,
because it does not allow the public budget to grow.

 The incineration of products is the destination set forth
in the Brazilian Agrochemicals Law (Law no. 7,802/89).
 The Union´s associates to SINDIVEG assumed the
responsibility of carry out such incineration. For
clarification, the cost of packing, transporting and
incinerating of the products is US$ 5.00/kg.
 Total amount paid for incineration in the period 20012014 was US$ 2,250,000.00.
 The “Disque-Denúncia” (Reporting Hot Line) number 0800940-7030, which is maintained to receive tips on illegal
agrochemical trade.
 All reported crimes communicated are informed to the
Brazilian Authorities
 The “Disque-Denúncia” (Reporting Hot Line) service does not
use any caller identification devices or “caller ID”.
 Callers are not required to identify themselves.
 E-learning educational course launch on the SINDIVEG
website (www.sindiveg.org.br) and the ANDAV website
(www.andav.com.br), which already have 2,716
participants.
 Acording to The Minister of Agriculture and Rural
Development of Colombia, Mr. Iragorri Aurelio Valencia
“smuggling is the worst pest of Colombian agriculture”.
 It´s avaliable a national hot line phone number (01 8000 1
89960) to receive reports about this crime anywhere in the
country.
 The lines will be handled directly by the POLFA (Fiscal and
Custom Police of Colombian National Police).
 This year POLFA has performed more than 2.700 operations
apprehension, in the fighting against smuggling agricultural
products.
 The value of seized goods amounts about $ 10 billion or
US$ 4,925,000.00.
