Flammability: The measurement of a fabric’s performance when it is exposed to specific sources of ignition.
Wet & Dry Crocking: Transfer of dye from the surface of a dyed or printed fabric onto another surface by rubbing.
Colorfastness to Light: A material’s degree of resistance to the fading effect of light.
Physical Properties: Pilling is the formation of fuzzy balls of fiber on the surface of a fabric that remain attached
to the fabric. Breaking strength is the measurement of stress exerted to pull a fabric apart under tension. Seam
Slippage is the movement of yarns in a fabric that occurs when it is pulled apart at a seam.
Abrasion: The surface wear of a fabric caused by rubbing and contact with another fabric. The lower-case “a”
represents General Contract Upholstery, and the upper-case “A” represents Heavy-Duty Upholstery.
