Description: Transformation of a single-story warehouse and furniture showroom into an open and
versatile convention center.
Owner: Oxford Development Company
Need: Find a use for an existing 100,000 SF building and replace a lost exposition facility to
benefit the community and region.
The Challenge: Design renovations and new building elements that will be needed to support a wide
variety of exhibition and assembly functions as well as large numbers of visitors, all
while adhering to a tight budget.
The Solution: New entrance and egress elements;
New HVAC system for the former warehouse portion;
Widely expanded infrastructure and support spaces within the existing building core;
Various open and flexible exhibition spaces throughout;
Sensible, budget-conscious finishes and details.
