Effects of Incidence on Traffic Stream Characteristics: Thesis Research Area : Research Thesis involved the
modeling of Shock Waves generated because of a non-recurring event on a 6 Lane urban artery. The relative impacts
of different combinations of lane/lanes closure because of an incident provides crucial insight to the micro
phenomenon related with congestion caused because of road blockages. Has the potential of integrating within the
Automatic Incidence Detection Algorithms like ADVANCE etc to automatically detect the severity of an incident apart
from detecting the incidence itself.
