Your Application is Inside. Join Us! 30th Annual Senior Mini-College March 23-27, 2015 51320 W. Hwy 50, Cañon City · 719.296.6100 2015 Senior Mini College Page 1 Pueblo Community College Fremont Campus 2015 Senior Mini-College Dedication The 2015 Senior Mini College Advisory Board is pleased to dedicate this year’s program to Char Rodenbeck. Char has been the Head of Housekeeping on the Fremont Campus since 2008; a vital share of the pair of support services who maintain the building we so enjoy each year. She invests immeasurable personal pride in her work which is reflected in the neat cleanliness of every surface of Fremont Campus. Char is unique for several reasons. First, she is a member of the rare alumni of not just native Coloradan but a third generation Cañon City resident. After graduating from Cañon City High School, Char completed an Associates of Arts degree with an emphasis in Elementary Education. Although unsure of her next educational direction, she is content sharing her time between work and enjoying camping and fishing with her husband of 32 years, Dave, and relishes time with her two daughters and two grandchildren. Her second exceptional trait is also unique. For years, Char has enjoyed listening to jazz saxophone. Rather than staying in a passive role of audience, she has chosen to become the participant by learning to play the alto saxophone. In her normal pursuit of above average, Char pursued her interest by searching for, and locating Warren Hill, a Canadian sax player who has played with Natalie Cole and Restless Heart. She friended Hill on Facebook where he regularly posts answers to her questions and musical advice. When asked what she likes best about Mini College week, Char stated she looks forward to talking with the participants and enjoys the opportunities the event affords the students who have worked so hard to support and raise families in a pressure free and social platform to learn and forge new friendships. When you see Char in the halls, and you will see her often over the week, be sure to thank her for her commitment.
