Thanks for helping your child keep library books clean and dry and bringing them back on time. Summer is a great time to read just for the fun of it. Help them find a good book and share it together. See you in August. P.E. Parkside Students are Motivated!!!!! 4 WOW.....Parkside students have been running their legs off to earn their TOE-TOKENS!!!!!! Atterbury soldiers have been running Toeens with our students during our recess before lunch. We have formed Tok a great partnership with our soldiers who “LEAD BY EXAMPLE” not only by serving our country but by living a healthy lifestyle. Our students have collected 1,000 miles so far for spring. AWESOME job! Atterbury soldiers came to Parkside to do a presentation to our fourth grade and sixth grade students who participated with them in boot camp during our PE classes. Soldiers took individual and group pictures of our students at the boot camp. They framed them and gave them to our school which we will hang in our gym hallway! Acts of kindness. Parkside students have worked really hard maintaining their fitness/nutrition/PE homework, and assessing their data to show “BLUE,” the Colt’s mascot, that they deserve the end-of-year Colt’s party. Students created a video tape and scrapbook to present to the Colt’s committee really soon. If Parkside School is choosen, the Colt’s party for us will be at the end of May. Wish us luck!!!!!!!! Also, Parkside School will find out results of the Healthy Hoosier School Award in late May. Parkside has won this fabulous award eight years in a row from the state of Indiana. Sixth grade final celebration will be on May 24, 2013. Information letter will be coming home with your child soon about our fitness fun field day with the Atterbury soldiers. Have a great fun fit summer! Mrs. Coleman Gu id Ide ing as R espect for others is one of the most important things children can learn from a parent. Respect is the basis for most other desirable behaviors. Many leaders think that teaching children The Golden Rule, to “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you,” is the most important thing parents can do. It shows children how to live and work well with others. Show your children examples of respect by using the Golden Rule as you discipline them. You wouldn’t want to be ridiculed in front of your friends—and your children don’t either. The Golden Rule comes most naturally to children when we teach them to think about another person’s feelings.
