Attendees learned about the dangers of acidic food and drinks on teeth and the benefit of flossing, brushing correctly, using mouth wash and chewing sugar free gum. Snehal Patel, Dental and Iristine Robertson, Receiving ›› News You Can Use ›› What you need to know about PTO PTO combines vacation, sick and holiday time into one bank. 2016 Wellness Incentive Look out for health screenings during Spring to Health for a chance to receive a $200 Visa gift card. The fewer sick days you use, the more vacation time you will have. Short-Term disability provides income protection for extended time away from work for illness, injury or maternity. Accrual is based on length of service and hours paid. Time accrues each pay period and will be reflected in Kronos. PTO requests will continue to be done in Kronos, but it will no longer be divided up into categories, i.e. sick time, birthday, personal, etc. Staff must use 40 hours of scheduled PTO each year. Taking time off for yourself is important! PTO time can be rolled over year to year, up to 300 hours. FUN FACTS Stuart Almond Q: If you were trapped on an island, what book would you like to have? A: 1989 d lf t t a mu et. If you leave TSRHC, you will be paid for 100 percent of your PTO. All accumulated sick time through 12/26/15, will be deposited into an extended illness bank or “EIB.” EIB time may be used for illnesses lasting longer than 3 days (24 hours)or immediately for inpatient hospitalization. There will be no additional EIB accruals after 12/26/15. Staff may sell up to 80 hours of PTO a year. Staff must leave an 80-hour balance in their PTO bank if they wish to sell time. Staff can sell back PTO twice a year. Hours are sold at 80 percent of their value. Staff may donate PTO hours to another staff member. Staff who wish to donate time may submit a PTO donation form to HR. Note: PTO sales and donations may total no more than 80 hours combined, per calendar year. Staff members donating time must leave a balance of 80 hours in their PTO bank. Stacy brings more than 25 years of human resources experience to this role, the last 14 years of which were spent in healthcare. One of Stacy’s first projects will be reviewing all of our compensation practices. In addition, she will be your first point of contact for employee relations issues. Please feel free to stop by the HR Department and say hello. Welcome to the family, Stacy! ›› The TSRHC Psychology department recently published three articles in non-psychology journals. This is significant because it shows the reach psychology has on general medicine and, more specifically, the role psychology plays in expert orthopedic care. The journals featuring research by the TSRHC Psychology department are The Journal of Pediatric Orthopedics, Clinical Orthopedics and Related Research and Spine. Way to go, Psychology! Out The following staff have been recognized for their excellence in wellness! Tywanna Fields, Revenue Cycle - For working with Mickey and Taylor consistently over the past year, improving her nutrition and increasing her exercise to meet her health and fitness goals. She has made such significant healthy changes! She also constantly encourages and shares her knowledge with those around her. Sandi Greenberg, Ambulatory Care - For increasing her exercise, including a 20/30 yoga challenge (20 classes in 30 days!), demonstrating healthy eating at work and encouraging and showing her co-workers how to do the same. Julio Juarez, Security - For doing an outstanding job improving his health and fitness. In addition to coaching and playing soccer, he has made positive changes to his diet and as a result lost a significant amount of weight. He has been an example to other officers as he has shown that with willpower, determination, and consistency you can lose weight, change your eating habits, and achieve your desired goals in life. He is a great leader and positive example on in his department. Andrea Brown, Child Life - For sticking to her nutrition and exercise plans and continuing to strive to reach her own personal fitness and wellness goals while also encouraging others to do the same and leading by example. She stays positive and constantly has a smile on her face. Her cheerful nature encourages others to be positive and continue towards their goals. Martha Derstine, HR - For improving her nutrition, having a positive influence on the rest of her department, and sharing her knowledge with them as she learns new and healthy eating habits. Julie Rogers, Family Services - For improving her diet, increasing her workouts and being a constant motivator to those around her, encouraging them to get to the gym even when they don’t feel like it! Steve Ganow, empower For working with Taylor and Mickey regularly over the past two and a half years to make significant lifestyle changes, including improving his diet and increasing his cardio to three days a week. He is a great example of determination and consistency in making good nutrition and fitness a part of everyday life. Bianca Morin, Appointment Desk - For constantly working out in the gym here at TSRHC in addition to doing outside classes. She also strives to motivate her coworkers with their workout plans. She is an excellent example of the Scottish Rite Strong program, as well as wellness here at TSRHC.
