FAMILY FUN DAY SUCCESS DEPENDS ON VOLUNTEERS
SAVE THE DATE
Here’s your chance to jump in and see for yourself how vital YOU are to our school. Family
Fun Day is our largest and most profitable fundraiser. Annually we raise over $5,000 at this
one event. We rely on the funds from this day to provide items and experiences to EVERY
student at OP throughout the school year. THE ONLY WAY TO ENSURE SUCCESS IS
VOLUNTEER TEAMWORK. To pull off the fun, we need the missing ingredient: YOU!
February 26
OP Skate Party
Kettering Skateworld
4-6:00pm
Please, (and we aren’t too proud to beg) consider signing up for a shift. You don’t need experience, you don’t need to volunteer for the entire event, but we DO
NEED HELP! Just a few hours on March 2nd. Time is getting short and
the list for volunteers has LOTS of openings. When all is said and done,
it takes over 140 volunteers to create a successful Family Fun Day.
March 2
FAMILY FUN DAY!!
10:00am-3pm
OP School
If we do not obtain the required number of volunteers needed,
booths will be eliminated. Please help us ensure that your favorite
game or booth is available this year for all to enjoy! Shifts are not an all
day commitment so you will still have plenty of time to enjoy the event
with your child(ren).
March 5
Thank you for your serious consideration!
All volunteers are entered (1x per shift) into a drawing for $25 to Awesome Yogurt!

To sign up, call Laurie Voight at: 298-0264, or check out the sign up board in the lobby

FAMILY FUN DAY GRADE BASKETS
Every year raffle baskets are prepared by each grade for the Silent Auction at Family Fun Day. These baskets follow a theme and typically earn a total of $400 - $500. It is any easy way for everyone to contribute a little something to have a big impact. The wonderful parents listed below are coordinating the baskets and have reported
that participation has been a little slow. You can donate items related to your grade's theme or just contribute a
few dollars towards purchasing items. It doesn't need to be much -- just $2-$3 can make a big difference. Here is
a reminder about what themes are for each grade. If you have any questions please contact
the parent coordinating your child's basket.

SILENT AUCTION AND DOOR PRIZES
Be sure to visit the Science room (located in the 4th/5th grade hallway, just past the gym) to make
bids on our silent auction items. Terese Wimer has been hard at work seeking out and collecting donations from local businesses for our silent auction. Below is a sneak peek of a few of the area businesses who graciously made donations for us to bid on.
Angela Walhay could still use items for door prizes such as unused or new items you might have
around your house. Perhaps that gift from Cousin Bob that you feel bad about re-gifting could be
donated. We could use anything from candles to games, tote bags to toys.

FAMILY FEEDBACK
What part of Family Fun Day attracts your family to attend the event each year? What part could you
live without?
We would like to give every family the opportunity to freely (and anonymously) share their input on topics. Responses will not be
published, but used as a discussion tool for the board members. So, this month, please take a moment to share your opinion. Just
jot down your thoughts, clip out this form and send it in marked PTO. Only include your name if you would like a personal response.
