6TH September 2014 -Live Operative Urogynecology workshop.
On 6th September live operative urogynecology workshop was organised at Dr.B.R.A.M. Hospital
conference hall.
Inauguration of this pre conference workshop was done by president IMS, Dr. Maninder Ahuja. Special
guest was Prof. Dr. Vivek Chudhary who is Medical Superintendent & Head of the Department of
Radiotharapy.
The Faculty for this operative workshop were President Elect (IMS) 2015, Dr. H.P. Pattanaik, vice
president FOGSI and past chairman Urogyne committee, Dr. Vineet Mishra and Organising Chairperson
Dr. Abha Singh.
A veriety of vaginal surgeries were demonstrated beautifully. The Hall was full with delegates and
session was very interactive.
Moderators for the workshop were Dr. Jyoti Jaiswal and Dr. Tabassum Dalla

Dr. Abha Singh given welcome address as organizing chairperson of the conference. Dr.
Maninder Ahuja in her Presidential address briefed about the journey of IMS till now, given stress on
importance of midlife health and its preventive aspects. She has given nulife concept. She also stressed
on use of newer gazettes and electronic media and said that electronic voting is need of hour. The
release of first edition of POISE magazine during inaugural ceremony was done. Dr. Pushpa Sethi
(Chairperson Club 35 plus committee) briefed about this educational magazine.
All guests appreciated the efforts of team Raipur for a good conference for women’s health.

Plenary Session and key note address.
After the inaugural ceremony keynote address was given by President IMS Dr. Ahuja on
“Hormony of Hormones in midlife” where she had givan elaborate lecture about balancing the
Hormonal mileu in midlife. Dr. Sanjay Gupte taken planery session on medicolegal aspects in gynae and
given useful information to practioners .
Session on Urogynae Problems
After plenary session, followings deliberations were given on different topics related to urogynaecology.
Vault prolapse- Can it be prevented- Dr. Abha Singh
Medical Management of incontinence – Dr. H.P. Pattnaik
Surgical Management of incontinence –Dr. Vineet Mishra.
An interesting panel discussion on “cry of bladder” was moderated by Dr. H.P. Pattnaik & Dr. Vineet
Mishra
The Panelists were- Dr. Rooplekha Chouhan, laxmi Maru, Dr. lalit Shah (Urosurgeon) Dr. Priti Agrawal
, Dr. Rekha Ratnani & Dr. Jyoti Jaiswal.
Verious common & unusual cases were discussed in this panel.
Nulife midlife workshop
In hall B, Nulife midlife workshop was carried out. Dr. Jyoti Jaiswal given introduction about
the concept. Sessions were chaired by founder members of the Raipur chapter. “Basics of menopause”
were cleared by Dr. Pushpa Sethi and symptoms were highlighted by Dr. Sangeeta Jogi. Detailed talk
on management options for different problems associated near menopause were explained by President
IMS Maninder Ahuja . Dr. Poonam Mathur highlighted on long term sequely and Dr. Tripti Nagaria
delivered her talk on cancer screening in menopause.

Multidisciplinary panel discussion
On 7th Sept – a very interesting and informative multidisciplinary panel discussion on midlife
women was moderated by president IMS Dr. Maninder Ahuja and Jt. Secretary IMS Dr. Sonal Bathla.
Stress was given on need of multidisplinary approach and proper referral. Many problems
associated with menopausal age group like cardiac, urological, orthopedic, psychiatric, medical
disorders like diabities hypertension & need for proper nutrition were discussed thoroughl.

Cultural program & Gala Dinner
Banquet dinner & Cultural Program was organized on 6th September evening. Guest of honour was Mr.
Ajay Singh (Principal Secretary C.G. Govt). All cultural program was prepared and performed by
doctors only which included melodious songs of different era, dances and drama. It was a memorable
program. Audience enjoyed it thoroughly.

IMS Zonal Quiz –
A quiz on shifting pending of HRT was conducted on 7th Sept for PG Students and young gynecologists.
Audio visual round was preceded by written theory round and then best 4 candidates were selected for
audio visual round

Quiz masters were - Dr. Jyoti Jaiswal , Dr. Smrity Naik, Dr. Asma Khan, & Dr. Abha Pargania
Dr. Deep Laddhad had won the quiz on AV raund and so nominated for National quiz at IMSCON 15
at Indore.
Thanks to Dr. Ujjawala Deshmukh & Dr. Sushma Verma, for keeping the scores, Dr. Maninder were
present through out the quiz session and giving importance tips to the upcoming gynaecologist with
humour. The quiz was a fun
6th September Inauguration of Club 35 plus and Public Forum Activity
Club 35 plus was also inaugurated on 6th September by President IMS, Dr. Maninder Ahuja and
Chairperson club 35 plus Dr. Pushpa Sethi.
A Public forum activity was organized under club 35 plus for educational program for staff nurses.
Around 50 staff nurses were actively participated and benefited.
Dr. Maninder Ahuja had explained about life style modification and importance of exercise in midlife.
She had demonstrated some of the exercises and given so many useful tips for posture & muscle
strengthening. Dr. Pushpa Sethi had elaborate talk on role of self care and Nutrician in Midlife. Special
focus given on cancer screening and bone health after 35 years.
Staff nurses were very enthusiastic and willing to educate others whatever they have learnt in this
session.

17th May 2014 - CME on Osteoporosis
We are glad to inform you that Raipur chapter of IMS conducted the CME on Osteoporosis on 17th may
2014 at Hotel Mayura, Raipur. The programme was inaugurated by founder chapter secretary Dr Abha
Singh & immediate past chapter secretary Dr Tripti Nagaria. Speakers were Dr Abha Singh( Prof & HOD,
Dept of O&G ,Medical college Raipur.), Dr Tripti Nagaria(Professor O&G ), Dr Ruchi Gupta(Asst Prof
O&G) and me. Dr S Ruprela (Consultant
NMS Diagnostic & Research Centre) were called as guest
speaker. He had talked about DEXA scan & diagnosis of osteoporosis. CME was attended by 42
doctors. Session was well appreciated. The interactive rapid fire round was interesting so enjoyed
and appreciated. Dr Abha Singh and Dr ruprela congratulated the office bearers. We wish to
thank raipur zydus team for their contributions for the programme. Please find attached the photos of

'managing diabetes confidently' successfully on 1st Feb 2014. IMS members as well as PG students
