2008 Membership Renewal
Membership renewals for the 2008 year are coming due. Ken Key will start
accepting renewals at the December 8th Toy Drive.
See the Membership Directors article on Page 4 for more information!!!!
From The Desk of El’ Presidente
HO, HO, HO and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! From the Jolly Old Fella at the North Pole.
SATURDAY, SATURDAY, SATURDAY, SUNDAY, SUNDAY, SUNDAY!!! Hey all, it’s Toy Drive time
again and we’re gonna be at Moritz Chrysler Jeep this year, Saturday, December 8. Thanks to Moritz for wanting us to come over and have it at their place. As many of you know, entry is a new un-wrapped toy and we
will take money too. This show will be open to all makes and models of cars. Moritz is even going to feed everybody who will be there. I wish that I could make it, but I’ll be playing Santa Paws that day and can’t get
there. For more information, go to our web site and you can learn about the starting time and where the location of the dealership is. The next day, Sunday, December 9, we will be having our Christmas Party at Billy
Bob’s with the meeting starting at five o’clock and the Christmas Party starting just as soon as everybody has
eaten. The dinner will cost the same as always, $10 with the Club paying half of the cost ($5) for all who come.
We will be having our Gift Exchange too, so bring something for the event. You don’t have to spend a lot of
money on a gift. We will also be asking nominations for those who want to run for a Board position. It’s also
time for Membership renewal, so if you want to pay up, see Ken Key and he’ll take care of it.
I also want to thank Richard West for taking care of the meeting for November. I know that he did a great job,
“Thanks Rich.” I know that we haven’t been through the Holidays yet, but before we know, it will be in-door
car show time again. These past eight months as President have been fun for me. It has been a lot of work, but I
feel that I have become a lot closer to a lot of you that help run this great club. We have been through some
good times and rough times too, but I won’t trade them for anything. I want to wish all of you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!! At this time, I would like to give Santa my list, but I would have to send out another newsletter to cover it all. So instead, I’ll just ask GOD to Bless our club, The Cowtown Mopars and make
sure that we’ll be able to have fun at all of the events that we attend. So don’t forget about the Toy Drive at
Moritz and the Christmas Party at Billy Bob’s on the weekend of December 8th and 9th. Take care and I’ll see
ya then!!! Be there or be square!!!

Letters from the Secretary
Hello Everyone
Well the Holiday Season is upon us and all of us are running in
every direction to get everything done on time. It is time for giving
and what better way is there than to come to our Toy Drive on December 8th and make a child happy for Christmas
and in the process enjoy the company of your fellow Cowtown Mopar Club members. We need a good showing to
help the kids and to help show the dealership the kind of club we are and member participation.
We had our October Meeting at Billy Bobs and as it has been lately, it was a small turnout. We have a great group
of members that follow different aspects of the club, such as the Race Team, Show Team or just an avid Mopar
fan. The meetings are for all of us to get together and discuss what is happening with the club, what is ahead for us
and to get input from the members to help us grow and better ourselves. We need participation to make this happen and it takes everyone of you to make this happen.
We have the Toy Drive coming up and the Christmas Party the next day and I hope we have a great turnout for
both of these. Also, I am looking forward to seeing more participation at the meetings in the future.
Let’s all get together and make this an even greater club than it is now. I know we all can do it as a team.
Have a Great Holiday Season and I hope to see all of you soon.
Your Club Secretary.

It was pointed out that just because someone has a working email does not mean the newsletter is getting to them.
Many could be getting filtered out by spam blockers.
To this end, it was decided to mail a hardcopy of the newsletter to everyone in the club, including 2006 members
that did not renew for 2007. We did this to ensure people are aware of the Toy Drive, Christmas Party, and 2008
membership renewal. Please be sure to include an email address with your 2008 renewal form if you want to receive the newsletter via email. If you think you should be receiving them via email, contact me and we’ll work it
out.
[email protected]
If you attend a show or race, win an award, or anything, send me the details or write an article and I’ll see that it
gets put in the newsletter.
I am ALWAYS in need of Car of The Month submittals, so send me a pic of your car and a short write up. The
threat of using my car in the newsletter still stands if I don’t get more vehicle submissions!!!!!
2008 MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION
Hey fellow Mopar mavens. It's that time of the year again.
We're ready to start taking 2008 membership dues. Your existing membership is valid through December 31, 2007. We ended the year with 157 voting members, and had an additional 54 go missing on us
from 2006.

club newsletter, or can be printed from the website.
Club dues are: Initial - single $25.00, family $35.00
Renewal - single $15.00, family $25.00
I will have some current 2007 club rosters with me at the

2006 Missing Member List
Below is a list of former members that did not renew their club memberships for 2007. We all know that people come and go. But
whenever people leave, we always wonder what happened to them. If you are in contact with someone on the list, or know what
they are up to, let them know that we miss them and would love to see them back with the club!!

For those that may have noticed..... our message board has
been updated by the host, Aimoo. They updated the forums
without letting anyone know it was going to happen and they
had a few problems with the update. It is all back into working
order now and I have it looking pretty close to the way it was with a few changes. I still have a
little fine tuning to do to get it where I want it, it will just take some time. It does have some
new features such as the quick reply. If you feel the urge to add a photo, or put your own favorite touches to the post, you have to click on the reply button to get the full reply feature with
the smilies etc.
That’s all I have!

December 2007 CAR OF THE MONTH
Jerry Light’s 2007 Dodge Charger Daytona
I have been into cars since I was 12 years old (I am 63 now). At 15 my
first car was a 56 Plymouth Fury with a 318, 2 Fours from the factory. It needed rebuilding so I put in an Isky cam, bored it .060 over with Jans Pistons, replaced the factory
Carters with AFB's and installed headers. I have been a MOPAR lover ever since.
I never could quite get me a RoadRunner HEMI or a HEMI CUDA. But I now
have that HEMI, a 2007 Charger R/T Daytona, Sublime (my Birthday present to myself
in April). I have done some dress up under the hood, color matched the engine cover
and valve covers and changed the graphics to almost the same as the 70 HEMI CUDA.
It is a FUN CAR and I feel like I am a teenager again.
I have just joined Cowtown Mopars in September and been to the September
club meeting. Everyone I have met and talked to has been just GREAT. I look forward
to taking part in the club events and making lots of new friends. Thank you all...
