have made outstanding contributions to
the grocery industry, provided opportunities for their associates, been involved
in their community, and have a history
of active support and involvement in the
WGA. The nominee may or may not
currently work in the grocery industry.

Excellence in Operations
The Wisconsin grocery industry’s highest honor, the WGA’s Grocer of the
Year award, is presented annually to recognize an individual or individuals
for lifetime achievement within the grocery industry. These honorees
exemplify the highest qualities of leadership in business and in their
community; their influence has positively enhanced the lives of others.
Excellence In Operations honorees
are recognized for their work ethic,
commitment to the grocery industry,
and for creating opportunities for
store associates.
Now, it is easier than ever to submit your nomination.
To place your choice for consideration for either the Grocer of the Year and/or Excellence in Operations award, just submit one
nomination (see criteria and questions on page three) and send it to the WGA. We’ll do the rest!

Excellence in Operations
Use this form to nominate a candidate for
Grocer of the Year AND/OR Excellence in
Operations. Please submit information
addressing all parts of the four points below.
It is important to provide complete answers
to each question and to include as much
information as possible. Add pages to this
application if needed. Include newspaper
clippings and articles; contact the
nominee’s family for additional information.
Send materials to the WGA by Friday,
April 17, 2015.
The WGA Board of Directors will score all
nominations. The top-scoring nominee
will be the Grocer of the Year and the
subsequent highest four scores will be
named Excellence in Operations
honorees.
Eligibility
The nominee must have made outstanding
contributions to the grocery industry,
provided opportunities for their associates,
been involved within their community and
have a history of active support and
involvement in the WGA. The nominee may
or may not currently work in the grocery
industry. The nominee’s company must be a
current dues-paying member of the
Wisconsin Grocers Association. The
recipient should attend the Chairman’s
Banquet at WGA’s Innovation Expo on
October 14, 2015 to receive the award.
Recognition
The recipients of the WGA Grocer of the Year
and Excellence in Operations awards will be
notified in June and July 2015. A press
release and a surprise media event will be
scheduled in advance to announce the
award. A sign will be provided to display in
the store or office.
Final honorees will be featured in the Expo
Issue of the Wisconsin Grocer magazine, with
special e-alerts, in the President’s Letter enewsletter, and on WisconsinGrocers.com.
Honorees will receive awards at the
Chairman’s Banquet during the WGA
Innovation Expo.
