It was hosted by Innovation Centre, street Mladena Stojanovica 4, Banja Luka. The workshop was organized in order to identify and determine how innovation works and how to effectively involve partners in the processes of open innovation. The main focus of the workshop was on: Identification and determination of innovation working models; Types of innovation and strategy management; Innovation key concepts (closed and open innovation systems); Obstacles to innovation and their elimination; Best practices for partnering in open innovation process; Links between knowledge and partners in innovation process; Team synergy in creating a brand; Clear idea concept; Think through idea (Practical workshop); Developing innovative ideas cooperatively via QFD (Practical workshop). The third project management meeting has brought together members of project management team and steering committee to review work progress, assess financial flow and agree on further actions. This part of workshop ensured an insight to relevant sources of new ideas and innovation, characteristic types of innovation, key concepts, and obstacles to open innovation and their elimination in effective way. In addition to previously mentioned, a useful tool was presented - Participation and Context Matrix, where the two main factors are Degree of Participation and Knowledge Focus. 09:30 – 10:00 Reflection of Idea Labs (Dimitrije Milojević & Marina Nikolić, University College Nikola Subić Zrinski) Flipped classroom presentations and discussion about the achievements and challenges encountered in the preceding period. This part of training was focused on Best practices for partnering in innovation process, knowledge, team synergy and education for the future. Beside this, importance of brand and brand management was pointed out. 10:00 – 10:30 Short break 10:30 – 12:00 Workshop on Innovation (Dimitrije Milojević & Marina Nikolić, University College Nikola Subić Zrinski) The practical workshop – Team synergy in creating the brand, introducing useful tools such as “Mind Mapping” (A proven technique to plot out the desired offering, rational benefits, emotional benefits, character & symbols, and values that define the desired future identity.), “Planets & Moons tool“ (an exercise to help team to identify and prioritize key dimensions of the brand. In the exercise, brand values are“planets”,while attributes or characteristics are the accompanying “moons” of the planets.) and “Brand Personality Cards” (Participants in a workshop are given a selection of cards representing a variety of themes, usually two or three can be selected from this list: Cars, Sports, Places, People, Animals, Houses. They are asked to imagine if your brand was a car, what car would it be? Then ask to explain reasons why. Keywords are captured on a board.). 3 12:00 – 13:00 Lunch break 13:00 – 16:00 Visit of Innovation Centre Banja Luka (Mario Milanović and Vladimir Ćorda, Innovation Centre Banja Luka) Innovation Centre Banja Luka was the first combined modernly equipped center for support and development of entrepreneurship in the Republic of Srpska, strongly committed with the intent to support the development of companies that are able to offer a wide market of advanced commercial solutions in terms of products, services, employment and improvement of business processes based on knowledge and application of innovative and advanced technologies. 13:00 – 16:00 External Expert Seminar (Mario Milanović, Innovation Centre Banja Luka) All participants in the iDEA Lab training will hear from exemplary companies of Innovation Centre Banja Luka’s Business Incubator. Also, the participants have the opportunity to talk to and hear from experienced practitioners of the Innovation Centre Banja Luka’s Training Centre and Consulting Department. 20:00 Dinner Day 3: Action Learning, Partner Expert Seminar and Workshop (Wednesday, April 22, 2015) 10:00 – 11:30 Action Learning: Workshop on partnering/open innovation (Nick Williams and Tim Vorely, University of Sheffield) This training session was consisted of theoretical concept “From idea to opportunity: entrepreneurial strategy and market identification” where the Clear Idea concept was introduced and Practical part in 4 terms of workshop exercise “Think through idea”, where participants were divided into separate groups working on given tasks. 11:30 – 12:00 Coffee break 12:00 – 12:45 Partner Expert Seminar (Jens Schumacher and Martin Dobler, SFC Germany) A seminar delivered by a convening IdeaLab partner with expertise in the core topic of the learning unit. The main topics were Types of innovation, how to promote partnering and how to measure it 12:45 – 14:00 Lunch 14:00 – 15:30 Partner Expert Workshop (Jens Schumacher and Martin Dobler, SFC Germany) A workshop delivered by a convening IdeaLab partner with expertise in the core topic of the learning unit. The focus was on Why do we need the House of Quality from aspects of Voice of the Customers and Voice of Engineers, QFD - Quality Function Deployment, Advantages and disadvantages in using QFD as a tool. 15:30 – 16:00 Coffee break 16:00 – 17:00 Project Management meeting (Vladimir Todorović, University of Novi Sad) Details on further steps, issues regarding the next meeting in Sheffield.
