KOS LTD(THAILAND) Branch Launches
O
pening of KOS LTD., THAILAND in Bangkok, Thailand
KOS LTD., THAILAND will open in 2014 to better serve our customers in Thailand and Vietnam region.
In June of 2014, KOS Limited will establish its new branch office in Bangkok as our 11th branch office
worldwide. The office staff started working in Bangkok with KISWEL, its sister company, from the middle
of August of 2013 to enhance customer satisfaction in both Thailand and Vietnam and to set up the new
office officially.
The office will be in charge of sales & marketing for Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia as well as Thailand and
Vietnam with its branch manager, Mr. S. H. Lee.
The main reasons for establishing the office are to serve customers better in
Thailand and Vietnam where economic growth has increased gradually. This will
open up new markets in Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia where few business partners
exist and allow us to contact potential customers directly.
Lastly, why did we choose Thailand as our 11th branch office of KOS? Thailand
is situated in the middle of these five countries; Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia,
Thailand and Vietnam, so we are able to approach customers in this region easily
and effectively. Also, Thailand is considered as the one of potential countries for
economic strategy in ASEAN.

KOS awarded the 3rd beautiful KOS person prizes, and all the KOS employees participated in the
closed vote to appoint the proud KOS persons.
The “beautiful KOS person” was made with the intention to enforce the company's teamwork, by
facilitating the organization culture in which the employees help and encourage each other and
discourage selfishness among the departments.
Chang Wongi and 9 others were awarded for the gold prize, the silver prizes, and the bronze prizes, with
the prize rewards as follows: one week Europe trips for the gold, 3 night stay trips to Japan, Hong Kong,
Thai, and Philippines for the silver, and 2 night stay to Cheju Island for the bronze.

KOS Superelastic Nitinol Wire (New Product)
N
itinol is the name of an alloy drawn from its composition element and from the founder (Nikel
Tianium Naval Ordance Laboratory). In 1963, the U.S. Naval Arms research institute had found that
the random shape copies allowed for Shape Memory and Superelastic characteristics. And, its use range
has been expanded in the medical industry as functional material.
Especially, due to the merits nitinol alloy has in the bio-stability and in the excellent Superelastic
characteristics, more than 90% is applied to the bio medical industry field, and therefore, nitinol alloy
market is rapidly growing along with the bio medical industry growth.
KOS technology research institute developed the Superelastic nitinol wire products in 2013 with the
Medical Guide wire use product quality level as the goal, securing the fresh, heat treatment, and analysis
technologies; and in 2014 it is working for the product
launching through the client evaluation as the goal,
along with the productivity improvement and product
quality stabilization.
KOS nitinol (NITIG1 : 54.5~57.0wt% Ni) wire allows
the cold working for the ranges 0.20~1.60mm and the
Superelastic product production, implementing the
evaluation for the Superelastic characteristics through
the tensile test and BFR(Bend and Free Recovery) Test.

KOS Ultra-Fine Flat Wire (New Product)
K
OS Ultra-fine Flat Wire has similar production process with general KOS Flat Wire but the diameter
ranges are from 0.018mm up to 0.16mm. There are various applications such as medical devices (guide
wire, catheter), protecting the electric wire and more.
Several stainless steel grades can be used to produce KOS Ultra-fine Flat Wire, namely, AISI 302, AISI
304(304VAR : especially used for medical), AISI 316, Alloy 600, etc. and the strength is offered from soft
to full hard.

KOS , PV EXPO 2014 - the 7th Japan international
photovoltaic power generation Expo participation
planned
R
eed Exhibitions Japan Ltd. will be holding ‘World Smart Energy Week 2014’ from 26 till 28 of this
month at Tokyo Big Sight, Tokyo, Japan. This exhibition is composed of 8 smart·renewable energy
related specialized exhibitions (photovoltaic power, fuel cell , hydrogen, wind power, etc. simultaneous
specialized exhibitions) , with 1,510 companies participating in the event for the 80,000 visitors.
The eight specialized exhibitions of World Smart Energy
Week are composed of the broad range of products,
technology, and services; we expect the World Smart
Energy Week to provide the best venue for the various
experts from Japan and the world to share their ideas
and discuss new business opportunities in the specific
Energy field or in other Energy fields.
What about KOS ?
KOS will open an independent booth this time for the PV EXPO 2014 expo from 26 till 28 at Tokyo
Big Sight, Tokyo, Japan after participating for 2 years as the Korean booth. The Japanese market is
considered along with China and the U.S. as one of the three major growth markets for photovoltaic
power generation; KOS is resolved to actively participate in the market, anticipating in this exhibition to
obtain the information for the Japanese market and for the exchange development. We hope to confirm
through this exhibition the trend of the world smart·renewable Energy industry technology and the KOS
products.
What is PV EXPO ?
Japan's largest B-to-B international exhibition specialised in PV industry. The latest technologies,
materials, manufacturing technologies, and solar cell/module will be exhibited from across the globe.
PV EXPO is regarded as one of the world’s largest platform to present photovoltaic developments and
technologies. The exhibition covers a wide variety of devices, materials, equipments and technologies
related to the research, development and manufacturing of photovoltaic and solar power generation.
Launched in 2008, it has already been held six times, and its size and reputation are constantly growing.

ISO/TS 16949
As a third party, International Organization for Standardization (ISO) guarantees KOS through certifying
ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 that KOS product quality, environmental management, and service (packing,
documentation, delivery, etc.) which cannot be fully examined by customers are well managed according
to an international standard.
The ISO/TS16949 is an ISO technical specification aiming to the development of a quality management
system for automotive parts and AS 9100 is a widely adopted and standardized quality management
system for the aerospace industry.
KOS has been certified ISO 9001 since 1996 and ISO 14001 since 2001, and ISO/TS 16949 and AS9100
in 2003 and 2009 respectively. There have been several internal and external evaluations which
strengthened KOS product quality which then became the most competitive all over the world.
In 2014, KOS Quality Division will do its best to jump to even higher level in quality management in order
to produce the most satisfactory products in each and every market around the world.
