Danish Fire Tech Overview
Danish Fire Tech Company Overview Danish Fire Tech Firexpress First Strike Fire Fighting Concept Firexpress is a `first strike fire fighting concept´designed to give an immediate first strike capability on a wide range of types of fires, from deep‐seated class A fires to difficult class B fires even in polar solvent fuels and class E fires in electrical installations.
By using the special aerodynamic effect of a moving waterdrop, the unique patented nozzle is able to produce micro drops at a pressure of only 15‐23 bars and still achieve an amazing range of up to 50 ft. Equally the dual nozzle is able to produce high expansion foam in a straight stream at the same time. The Firexpress patented dual nozzle is able to produce extremely small micro drops (7‐100 micron) giving the water a very large surface. Fighting a fire with these micro drops will utilize the heat absorbing and steam generating capability of water to its maximum, hereby reducing the required amount dramatically. Additionally, the micro drops are so small that they will be hanging in the air for a relatively long time and will be drawn into the combustion process by the turbolent airflow feeding the fire with oxygen. The low operation pressure also assures that virtually no entrained air is forced into the fire, that there is limited risk of spreading burning debris and that practically no recoil is experienced. The Firexpress system therefore differs radically from high pressure systems. Microdrops the Firexpress way Danish Fire Tech is a independent distributor of Firexpress fire fighting systems – a system we believe is superior to any other first response fire fighting equipment in the world. Located in the Los Angeles area we are close to our market and our clients. The Firexpress lance with its dual nozzle makes it possible to use two different methods of extinguishing fires. One, by spraying the fire with water micro‐drops to absorb the heat, and two, by spraying a concentrated stream of foam to extinguish fires of fibrous materials and to seal burning liquids. These two methods use the same piece of equipment. By operating the selector handle, a fire fighter can immediately change between spraying micro‐drops and a concentrated stream of foam. With the selector handle in the forward position, a concentrated jet stream of low expansion foam is produced, which is highly effective on flammable liquids and embers in fibrous materials. The volume can reach 42 gallons per minute (pump driven units). With the selector handle in the backward position, the dual nozzle produces a long‐range cloud of micro‐drops, which are highly efficient on most classes of fires. The micro‐drops are so small that 1 gallon of water produces a surface area of more than 4090ft2. Unique advantages of the Firexpress Systems Firexpress systems offer a number of unique advantages that no other system can match. Most importantly, Firexpress eliminates all the drawbacks of high pressure systems. Because of their low weight, the micro‐drops are drawn into the heart of the fire by the airflow and virtually all the water is used for extinguishing the fire. Products Danish Fire Tech has a wide range of products that will satisfy any need for first strike fire fighting. Some systems are designed to be fitted onto regular fire engines giving almost unlimited fire fighting capacity. Others are designed to be mobile inside buildings or vessel while others will be able to navigate through any terrain or urban environment. Each system has particular advantages when it comes to mobility, readily availability or amount of fire fighting capacity. The most powerful system utilize a pump to drive the system. This is the case for the pump driven units and the all terrain vehicles. The mobile systems utilize compressed air in a tank to drive the system, which is the case for the mobile units and the back pack units.
No matter which system is chosen the heart of the system will always be the Firexpress lance with the patented dual nozzle that can be used to fight any type of fire. Pump Driven Units The pump drive unit is often used in ordinary fire engines to improve the fire fighting capability and reduce the amount of used water. It can also be incorporated with various sizes of water tanks and placed on an ordinary pick up truck or on a transport pallet. The pump can either be powered by a petrol, diesel, electrical engine or by hydraulics. The pump driven unit is the cornerstone in the Firexpress product line. With its ability to deliver 6,34 gallons per minute at a range of 50 feet, it is the most powerful system in the product range. As the unit must be connected to an external water tank it does not itself limit the fire fighting capability. Compressed air driven unit The mobil unit is used to fight fires in realative close proximity and very fire fighting need a very fast first respond. The mobility of the system makes it very useful in industrial high risk areas such as factories, warehouses, car decks and engine rooms on ships, aircraft hangers etc. The compact design makes it ideal for installation in smaller emergency vehicles. The mobile unit is a self‐contained system with a 12 gallon tank for premixed water and foam. The system is driven by compressed air from a standard breathing apparatus tank filled to 200 or 300 bars. The Firexpress lance is connected to the system with a 100 feet ½ inch hose. All Terrain Vehicle The Firexpress ATV is an all terrain vehicle especially designed for fast response fire fighting in rough terrain has to be navigated or some distance needs to be covered. The ATV is also the right choice for narrow streets in a city. The pump is able to suck up water from rivers, lakes, the sea or any available water reservoir simultaneous with using the fire fighting system or to fill the water tank in approximately 4 minutes. The Firexpress fire fighting ATV is built on a high quality American made Polaris Ranger 900 XP and can pull a trailer or sleigh and can be used to bring injured people through rough terrain to the nearest road. The ATV has a pump driven unit installed and has a 80 gallon water tank and a 3 gallon foam tank. The Firexpress lance is connected to the system with a 160 feet ½ inch hose Back pack The backpack is the most mobile of the Firexpress systems. It is particularly useful when the fire fighter has to approach the fire through very narrow passage ways like on a ship, stairways or on upper floors of a building. The system consists of a shield carried on the back of the fire fighter secured with a harness. It consists of two tanks connected with one another, each containing 1.6 gallons a premixed water and foam and either a 0.8 or 1.8 gallons tank with compressed air. The Firexpress lance for the back pack is shorter than the standard lance especially designed for safer and easier movements in confined areas. The system can be delivered with or without an integrated face mask with an on‐demand breathing apparatus.
