The Warner Robins Oral History Project
An exclusive video collection many lifetimes in the making is now
available for checkout at all Houston County Libraries. Thanks to
efforts by the Warner Robins Heritage Society, the Warner Robins Oral
History Project brings together over 80 recordings from Warner Robins
citizens, with more to come as the project continues. The videos
capture the history of our city
through the eyes of those who
actually watched it happen.
Truly a priceless treasure!
The Warner Robins Oral
History Project
is also
available for viewing at Nola
Brantley and Perry Libraries
in their local history rooms.
The Warner Robins Oral History Project is
officially presented to Houston County Library
by the Warner Robins Heritage Society
STEAMing Ahead in Houston County
Houston County Libraries will soon have STEAM kits available for checkout.
STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math. This
program is made possible by a grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum and
Library Services to Georgia Public Library Service under the provisions of the
Library Services and Technology Act.
According to the Houston County Board of
Education, Houston County students
outperformed the state in every subject
on their End of Course Tests in
mathematics, social studies, science and English language arts.
Keep up the good work Houston County!
extending their 10 books for
$1 sale at their book store
located on N. Davis Drive.
FOL is open every Saturday
10am to noon.
 Houston County Library
branches will be closed
November 11th for Veterans
Day and November 26th and
27th for the Thanksgiving
Holiday.
 Judith Malone, Perry Branch
Manager, attended the 27th
annual GaCOMO Library
Conference held in Athens in
October. Along with fellow
librarians, she learned
awesome new techniques
and program ideas to
improve our patrons use of
the library.

to the Macon Grand Opera
House November 19, 2015
for one night only.
Pumpkin Decorating
It’s how we roll
To get in the mood for the harvest
season, the kids at Perry and Nola
Brantley Libraries came out for some
awesome pumpkin-decorating at the
library. No carving or messy pumpkin
guts for us! We used paint, yarn,
stickers and all sorts of other things to
bring our pumpkins to life!
At Perry Library, the kids used
storybook characters for inspiration,
while at Nola Brantley, they came up
with wacky and wild designs!

Statewide Service (GLASS) keyboards will be available at your local
library! Designed by Keys-U-See, they are an excellent option for
vision-impaired patrons wishing to use the public computer.
Ask your librarian about a GLASS keyboard today!
 Did you know November
is Picture Book Month?
Picture books hold more
than just pictures. They

training to dealing with
bullies. Drop by your

Nola @ Night November
Join us for Friday Night Book Club at
Nola Brantley, where patrons and staff
alike are invited to read and discuss
unique titles every month!
For November’s pick, we have Shotgun
Lovesongs by Nickolas Butler. This
bestselling novel tells the story of four
childhood friends returning to their
small Wisconsin hometown for a
friend’s wedding. What awaits are old
rivalries, forgotten heartaches, and
new discoveries on what it means to
grow up.
“Nickolas Butler ripped my heart out with rare honesty and good oldfashioned unapologetic love. A book that makes you want to call old
friends. A writer who makes you feel more human than you thought
possible.”
— Matthew Quick, author of The Silver Linings Playbook
