It brings out mixed emotions to write
this. On one hand, I’m excited that we
are going to have a newsletter once
again. I want to make a point right
now to say thank you, to our editor,
Mary Broihier. On the other hand,
though I love to talk, I’m not much of
a writer.
2014 was a good year for the Hoosier
Labrador Retriever Club. The specialty
was well attended, we had the largest
puppy match that the club has had in
many years, we had several “field”
training days, our WC continues to
grow and we finally have new banners.
“retriever” training days, I look forward to doing some “tracking” training
with members of another breed club.
The 2015 Specialty is in the history
book now. A wonderful weekend with
a fantastic turnout of beautiful Labradors, over 130 each day, and great people, I don’t know how many of those.
Once again, I want to thank our judging panel: Deborah Shalane Lewis for
judging sweepstakes on Saturday,
Laura Dedering for judging regular
classes on Saturday and Barb Gilchrist
for Sunday’ judging. Keep checking

Specialty Success Realized!
This year’s HLRC Specialty was a tremendous success! Held February 7-8,
2015 in conjunction with the Indy
Winter Classic, we achieved the largest number of entries ever in our history of specialties at this show. The
weather worked out for the show all
weekend and our breeder judges made
it to the airport to judge their assignments and that is a plus. Laura Dedering , Barb Gilchrist and Deb Lewis
were very gracious judges and did a
wonderful job judging our show. We
had many compliments from them
about our club's hospitality and they
felt very welcome and appreciated us
for inviting them to come.
The show went smoothly for us and
though it was a lot of work and effort
to put on, we did it! Thank you all
again for your help to make this work.
