• The corporate objective is to promote tourism
in the individual towns and cities
• Focal point of the marketing activities: urban
tourisms
• The portfolio was supplemented by the subjects of
nature and countryside with the founding of a
long-distance cycle route in 1988 and a longdistance hiking route in 2006
• All three routes are independently signposted

Romantic Road 'Europabus'
• Has been linking the towns and
cities of the Romantic Road with
the international gateways of
Frankfurt and Munich since 1950
• Opened to compensate for the
lack of a continuous railway line
• Runs regularly in both directions
once a day from April to October

• The journey with the ‘Europabus’ can be interrupted as often as required (‘Hop on – Hop off’)
• Over 90 % of passengers are international guests

overnight accommodation and a sight-seeing

• Transports luggage and bicycles
• Active travellers can cycle back to the starting
point or parts of the route
