@

Buffet
It was a perfect day. Even the rain stopped just in time. The sun was shining, the park was ready, and the donuts were fresh! The morning began
with SACCC members, clad in red club shirts, running thru the park getting
things set up, and before we could finish, the classics began arriving. One
right after another until the park was full to capacity!
Our first car show was held in 1982 as our Spring Fling. It was a three day
event held at Cavanaugh’s River Edge over Memorial Day weekend. According to member Archie Petersen, right around 50 cars registered that
first year. A previous record of 144 cars showed up for the 25th Anniversary
Show at Telect in 2003. This year we had a recording shattering 161 classic
cars!
Combine the record number of vehicles with the wonderful raffle items, silent auctions, and door prizes, the entire show was a smashing success!
A huge THANK YOU to all who helped-SACCC club members, The Camaro
Club, and many others! And to the Town of Millwood for your hospitality!

Summer has finally arrived. We have certainly had out
share of rain this spring. I hope the rest of the season
will be warm. The by-law committee has put together
the final draft for the membership to approve. You will
gat a copy of the hopefully in this newsletter or separate mailing.
Please look it over and cast your vote at the next general meeting. The
by-laws committee has worked very hard left by Cliff Fender. I want
to say thank you to all the volunteers who helped put this together in a
timely matter. We have grown since 1985 when the council was
formed. The current by-laws just didn’t fit our mission as today. We
needed to expand our definitions. Roles and responsibilities. The Calendar of event committee has been formed, and we off to a great start.
The committee is chaired by Andrea Bevacqua, and 2011 looks to be
very exciting. We will be making some minor changes to fit our advertisers. We had over 70 people at our last general meeting. What a
great turnout we had. The Downtown Scholarship Show committee,
has been very bust, and this years show promises to be bigger than
ever. This is a time for us to get our cars out to Downtown Spokane
and show our friends, and neighbors that we car about Scholarships
and kids. This is one of best displays of cars you’ll find anywhere.
Everone talks about this show so please attend if you can. I would
thank our volunteers and sponsor we help us put this very big car show
on. We will be giving away 7 scholarships of $10,000 (WOW!). So
you can see that summer is in full swing and I hope that your are enjoying the car show season. Please support the car clubs and their
show. This is how we help our charities and our local communities.
This article will be short as we need the extra space for the by-laws
(we hope). See you at the next meeting.
Duane Murphy.

The 4th Annual Millwood Car & Truck Show
On June 26, 2010 The Spokane T-Club members put on a Car & Truck Car Show to benefit The Spokane Guilds
School & Neuromuscular Center for kids. The were 148 cars there, with 110 of whom registered. There were some
outstanding sponsors like Dairy Queen, Albertson's, Coyote Rock Reality, Ramax Trophies, Anytime Fitness, Big R,
Jimy Elslick License Plates, The Camaro Club, West Valley School and Great Clips just to name a few. These people
make it possible to be able to give the Spokane Guilds School just under $2,000 under the Penny Drive. One couple
came early and found out they were helping to get thing set up. There were some outstanding cars and even a fire truck
that was modified into a car hauler.
The Sponsors worked hard to make this show the best. The prizes door, and the raffles prizes were donated by: Albertson’s, Anytime Fitness, Big R and Jimy Eslick. The were some great prizes too. The mix of cars and people make
this a great family affair. West Valley Schools allowed us to use their field to put on this show for charity. When Ken
Daniels, Development Director for the Guild School stopped by to see the show and how well things were going, so
we put him to work selling raffles tickets, and later awarding the trophies. It was a great show. Everyone who put a
maximum effort for the kids. After some expensive we were ability to turn over $1678.00 to the Guild School. Suzie & I
would like to thank all these people who came out and helped, & since we are retiring from running car shows due to
health issues but Alan will still be advisor to help.

Duane called the meeting to order at 7:16 and led us in the Pledge of Allegiance. We now have a flag thanks to Dick and
Dody Dodd.
Duane stuff: the INCCC is helping in getting the Spokane County Raceway up and going. We have been approached by Northwest Motorsports to do a car show at the Raceway. There also has been a board meeting. The by-law committee has completed the new by-laws
and they have been submitted to the board. They were accepted by the board and will be sent out to the membership in the July newsletter.
General membership will then vote on them. Duane thanked all who helped work on them. He was surprised that they were completed so
quickly, thought it would take longer to complete. The Board has also approved a $200.00 donation to the Downtown Car Show. Would
like to start promoting our council by selling shirts, jackets, hats, and vests. See Jacquie for pricing or visit the INCCC website.

will also take a parade lap around the current road course after the show. The road course is being realigned, will not have the drag strip in
the middle of the road course any longer. This will enable the Raceway to have multiple functions on the track at the same time. Afterwards, there will be pizza available from Daves Pizza. Pizza will be a 10.00 donation for all you can eat. Also, show participants will be
able to meet the racers. Would like to see it grow with the INCCC. All proceeds will go to the INCCC Scholarship Fund. It will be after

July 2010 -‘NUFF SAID !
This column will be dedicated to things you need to know, already knew, or couldn’t care less about. Submit items to
[email protected].
There is a barber shop in Hayden that advertises "BEER AND A HAIRCUT-$15". What I want to know is how
do you keep the hair clippings out of your beer while he's cutting your hair? "Would you like some head on that
glass of beer?", the barber asked.
When I suggested that the Council collect medical apparatuses for loan to our members, I never thought I
would wind up with a whole basement full of stuff. Maybe we could make some money with the surplus items.
How about if we rent the items out to the "homeless" folks with the cardboard signs on the street corners? They
would make more money if they looked more sympathetic. A fair price for a days rent would be $2 for a cane or
walker, $5 for a set of crutches, $10 for a wheelchair, etc. We could even get a couple of stray dogs from the
pound, but they'd have to feed them themselves. The only problem I see is that if they are homeless, they don't
have an address where we can retrieve our items if they don't return them.
If you are traveling 60 mph on a two-lane highway and some jerk decides to tailgate you but won't pass,
here's a good way to get rid of him. Just spit your Bing cherry seeds out the window and let them bounce off of
his car. This only works during cherry season. The rest of the year, you could try prune pits.
There is probably something in your life that you have always wanted to do but know you’ll never get the
chance. My favorite thing would be to drive a fire truck down Division Street during rush hour. Of course, the
way I’d drive, I’d need more than a siren and flashing lights. Probably a V-shaped snow plow blade would do the
trick.
Here is the greatest invention ever! How about a voice-activated alarm clock? When it goes off in the
morning and you really don’t want to get out of bed, all you have to do is holler “SHUT UP, YOU MISERABLE
@%$&#$*@%” . It shuts off, and you go back to sleep!
If you buy a used car, you have to pay a licensing agent a fee to change the registration to your name.
That’s fair enough, I guess. However, when you sell that same car, you have to pay the same agent a fee to show
that you sold it. Now the new buyer has to pay the agent a fee to show that they bought it! When we sold Dody’s
car recently, she said she wasn’t about to pay someone to tell them she sold the car, so she put the form in an envelope and sent it directly to Olympia, with a note that said ”I can’t take this form to the licensing agent because
now I don’t have a car.” Don’t mess with Dody!
Still can't keep her on her own side of the bed. Tonight, I'll take a sheet, fold it lengthwise and put it on
her side. Then I'll do the same on my side. Should work!
