It’s the hottest office space in Liverpool. This is the Bunker Building Bunker history We’re really proud of the history. The Bunker used to be packed to the rafters with thousands of Littlewoods Pools coupons – a former gold mine! 1923 1938 John Moore sets up Littlewoods Pools which was based on a game he and two mates used to play. 1945 As one of the biggest buildings in the north west Littlewoods was used during WWII to help assemble figure plane wings and parachutes. 1950 1960 2003 2014 With the huge database of customers John expands into homewares and clothing. Littlewoods Pools become massive! So much so John needs a huge workforce to process all the coupons so he builds ‘Littlewoods’ – a ginormous human computer building employing 2,000 people. Catalogue business is booming and the Bunker is built for extra space.
