Randy sold $80.00 in 50/50 tickets and we brought in $380.00 in membership money. I sent out some reminder emails about membership and got a good response! I am very thankful that almost everyone I emailed said yes they wanted to stay in the club. Got a few that said they had sold their cars and would not be coming back. After talking to the manager at Golden Corral about them giving the room to someone else last month I am done with them. She told me that they needed the room for a seminar and it would take about 2.5 hours, well I told her that we come there once a month and she shrugged her shoulders at me like so what??? Well I guess the $750 or so we spend there every month does not mean a lot to them, so maybe someone else will want our business. I will keep everyone up to date on where we will meet. Well, I just set up our first meeting at Aiken Brewing Company. We will have our August 5th meeting there, same as usual, we eat at 6 and meet at 7. Hope to see you there!!* We still need prayers for some of our friends in the club, please remember to keep them in your prayers. Laura Collins, Nancy Reigart, and Mike Hardin. They are all battling this horrible disease we call Cancer, I even hate to say the word. Please keep these wonderful people in your prayers. Also please keep Sheldon and Gene in your prayers, they are also having health issues and we pray all our friends get better soon!! The MTU family day was a lot of fun! Looked at some very BIG engines, it was very cool touring the plant. After we looked at everything they fed us very well. I really enjoyed our outing. George from MTU said thanks for Aiken Horsepower coming out to enjoy the day with them, he said if we would have not shown up they would not have had to many cars to look at! So thanks gang for showing up in your beautiful rides!!! Keep on Rollin!! Vickie Manny's Mania News from the "pit" I am going to start working on the Pit again to have it sheet rocked and more closed in so when we do have events it will be much better. We bought the air conditioner for the Pit which works great but it needs to be in a more closed in area, so we will start soon on fixing that. We are also going to buy a BIG fan for the Pit, it is just too hot in there to utilize it as a clubhouse, the way it should be. We have a special surprise coming up, stay tuned. We have set a date for the club picnic, and once again it will be at Jim Fuller’s mancave. I can’t wait until we get a bigger air conditioner and finish the clubhouse so we can use it. But we want to give a big thanks to Jim Fuller for the use of his wonderful mancave. Once again it will be potluck, with the club furnishing the meat. So, please let Vickie know if you are going to be able to come and let her know what you would like to bring so we get a good variety of food. We will discuss a lot of the upcoming events at the club meeting. Don’t forget we will be meeting at Aiken Brewing Company on August 5th. 2 At the Labor Day BBQ cook-off and Aiken Horsepower cruise-in they will give us an arm band for each car that comes in with us. Only one per car, this year it does not include ribs. They will charge $1.00 each for them. We will enter Newberry Street from Richland Avenue. All cars must be in by 10:30 am, the gates will be closed off after that. Upcoming Events: August 3: Home Depot cruise-in, 6-8 pm Club meeting at the Aiken Brewing Company, August 5: eat at 6 pm, meet at 7 pm.
