But how do we make it through February? With six weeks or more of cold temperatures, Aiken Electric Cooperative wants to remind you of our energy efficiency tips. You can find them on our website, aikenco-op.org, under “Home Energy Savings,” or give one of our member service representatives a call for some quick, easy measures to keep your home a little warmer and costs down. Just a quick change with the least expensive filter will help with circulation and keep your system from overworking during BY NOW WE ARE ALL cold nights. We also try to keep our house temperature at 68 degrees in the winter. When the moderate weather returns, we have two exciting Aiken Electric events in April and May. Our fourth annual RUN UNITED in historic downtown Aiken is expanding to include a half marathon. Whether you are a runner or a spectator, this event promises to be fun for all ages. Also, mark your calendars for our 2015 Annual Meeting May 16. We’re looking forward to seeing you this spring! Gary L. By using solar, methane gas captured at landfills and wind, Aiken Electric Cooperative and Santee Cooper— along with members who care about their community—are helping our environment like never before. Green Power costs less than a dime a day! Each 100 kilowatt-hour block is available for only $3 added to your monthly electric bill. The money collected goes to develop renewable energy resources, right here in South Carolina. This helps us to stay independent from foreign resources and also helps maintain our local environment by using clean, renewable energy with no waste. Join the Green Team and make a commitment to our environment— the cost is small but the impact is large. If you are not currently a Green Power participant and want to become one, visit us at www.aikenco-op.org or call us at 1-800-922-1262 Three scholarships available • $1,000 Trustee Scholarship funded personally by AEC trustees • Two $1,000 Touchstone Energy Scholarships Submit your application before it is too late!
