Jaguar Land Rover Darien
Sets Its Sights on Success
Just 45 miles northeast of New York City, located on
Connecticut’s “Gold Coast,” PAG opened an all-new
Jaguar Land Rover dealership in Darien.
“This is the first Jaguar Land Rover store to showcase the new
corporate identity in the United States,” said Michael Famiglietti,
Senior Vice President of Manufacturer Relations. The dealership is
located on Boston Post Road, Darien’s main thoroughfare, and has
a footprint just over 30,000 square feet in total, encompassing
19 service bays and state-of-the-art sales and parts departments.
Headed by General Manager Nick Hilton, the team of 40-plus
associates has already delivered the first Jaguars in this market, as
the Jaguar brand had not been present in Darien for over ten years.
Nick had been General Manager of PAG’s Land Rover store in Darien
and will now manage both brands.

have adequate supply to serve this market. Timing could not be
better as Jaguar has introduced two new models, the XE sport
sedan and the F Pace SUV. Land Rover continues to manufacture
high-quality luxury SUVs, and sales continue to have year-over-year
increases.

Jason Beidelman joined PAG’s Manufacturer Relations department on April 4th following a
13-year career at BMW of North America LLC. With the significant experience Jason brings
from BMW/MINI, his initial assignment with PAG will be to represent our interest in these two
key brands. Jason holds a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from The Ohio State
University and a Master of Science degree from Franklin University in marketing and
communications. During the first months of taking on this new role, Jason and his family
relocated to Birmingham, Michigan, from Chicago, Illinois.

T
he Penske Tech Center is sponsored
by Penske Corporation and named
for Roger S. Penske who serves as the
Chairman of the Board for M-1 RAIL. It will
house the M-1 RAIL administrative staff
and function as the maintenance and
operations center for the QLINE streetcar
vehicles. The QLINE is a catalyst for
economic development and business
growth and an important cornerstone
toward creating a regional transit system
in Detroit.
Roger Penske touted the transformational
impact of the QLINE. “A decade ago as
we prepared for the Super Bowl, we were
boarding up buildings in this area,”
Penske said. “Today Woodward Avenue is
becoming one of the most successful and
vibrant corridors in our state and much of
that has to do with this project.”
The Penske Tech Center will be the
nation’s first vehicle storage and
maintenance facility to operate completely
off-wire. The first modern streetcar is
expected to be delivered to the Center in
the fourth quarter of 2016 when testing
and safety certification will begin.

Penske Elite Technician of the
Year, Matt Johnson, Enjoys
Indianapolis 500 Experience
M
att Johnson of BMW North Scottsdale traveled to the
100th running of the Indianapolis 500 in May as a special
guest of Team Penske after recently being named the
2016 Penske Elite Technician of the Year. As part of his prize
package, the senior-level technician enjoyed roundtrip airfare for
him and his wife, Brooke, a three-night hotel stay in downtown
Indianapolis, $1,000 in spending money, special grandstand
seating and paddock passes, among other things.
“It feels a little surreal,” said Johnson on being named the Penske
Elite Technician of the Year. “It also has turned into a much larger
deal than I had anticipated. The outpouring of congratulations
across the Penske organization has been exceptional.”
Johnson, who has been with PAG since 2012, earned the top
honor from among 120 nominated Penske technicians. The pool
was then narrowed to nine after a challenging 92-question exam.
The nine finalists traveled to the Team Penske headquarters in
Mooresville, North Carolina, on March 7-10, where they enjoyed
exclusive activities and competitions including a tour of the
Universal Technical Institute NASCAR training center, a pit stop
competition at the Team Penske race shop with members of the
Team Penske pit crew, a GoKart Racing competition at a local
track with Team Penske driver Joey Logano, and a tour of the
NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte.

again in 2016 in support of PVA’s
Mission: ABLE, an initiative designed to
ensure veterans with disabilities get the
care, benefits and job opportunities they’ve
earned and deserve. Since the launch in
January, with the PAG match, more than
$650,000 has been raised for the 2016
campaign.
To show appreciation for the outstanding
dealership commitment to this campaign,
PAG is recognizing and awarding those
dealerships and store advisors with the
highest donation totals each month; a
special PAG/PVA pin is being awarded to

in a virtual bike tour. More than 100
employees from all departments took
turns riding stationary bikes parked in the
service drive of each dealership. The team
rode a total of 1,440 miles – taking turns in
10, 20 and 30-minute intervals. The
course – Fairfield, Connecticut to PAG
corporate headquarters in Bloomfield
Hills, Michigan. By enlisting the support of
vendors who contributed to sponsor
riders, as well as through personal
contributions by employees and patrons,
the team raised $5,947 in donations.
Every year, PVA co-presents the National
Veterans Wheelchair Games, the largest
annual wheelchair sporting event in the
world. During the week-long event, more
than 600 veteran wheelchair athletes
compete in 19 sporting events as a form of
rehabilitative therapy to foster better
physical, mental and social health. This year,
the 36th National Veterans Wheelchair
Games were held June 27 - July 2, in Salt
Lake City, Utah. “It was very inspiring to
watch all the athletes and hear stories about
how far they have come despite the
adversities they’ve faced,” said Cassady,
who had the privilege of attending. “The
Games really showcased the talent and
strength of our nation’s veterans, and were a
great reminder that with hard work and
perseverance you can achieve your goals.
The event organizers and veteran athletes
were all so grateful for PAG’s support, and
they really appreciate this great partnership.”
As the Service Matters campaign

Penske Online Payment Texting Feature Now Available
T
he IT team has deployed an update to the Penske Online Payment
tool to allow for invoice text messaging. This enhancement allows
dealerships to send a text to customers whenever an invoice is ready for
payment. With this update, stores can now email and text customers to
notify them when their vehicle has been serviced or when the store is
waiting for a payment. The new communication medium should help
drive an increase in customer satisfaction while decreasing the amount
of time invoices remain unpaid.

Opens in Milano
A
utoVanti Milano BMW MINI opened in Milano as PAG continues
to expand its dealer group in Italy.
The dealership is composed of a 1,200-square-meter new car
showroom and an external 1,800-square-meter area dedicated to
the sale of used cars; service is handled at the Via Guglielmo Silva 8
location.
A grand opening attended by more than 4,000 guests was held
on April 29. The evening was hosted by showman Rudy Zerbi, and
the crowd was entertained by the comedy of Ale & Franz as well as
a musical performance by Clerks Street, one of the famous
Xfactor bands.
Speaking to the enthusiastic crowd, PAG Chairman Roger Penske
said, “BMW/MINI is our largest automotive OEM partner, and I’m
pleased to further the outstanding partnership we have developed
with BMW/MINI in the northern Italy market. Led by our local
partner Andrea Mantellini, the opening of this new dealership
represents the next step in our growth strategy in Italy while

Get Lifesaving
Vessel Back in
the Water
P
enske Power Systems’ marine team in Townsville provided its
MTU service expertise to get a vessel that delivers lifesaving
medical care back into Papua New Guinea’s waters.
YWAM Medical Ships is a not-for-profit organization that operates
vessels to service the remote areas of the southern region of PNG
with essential health and training services.
Delivering basic services in PNG poses enormous challenges
with over 80 per cent of the population living in remote areas. These
communities are scattered over rugged terrain, complex river
systems, vast expanses of ocean, and an extensive coastline –
just a few hundred kilometers from Australia’s coast. The service
covers the southern region and Huon Gulf and provides medical
specialists, supplies and health services for locals.
Its 60-meter catamaran turned medical vessel dubbed
MV YWAM PNG features twin MTU 12V 2000 engines that deliver
1,576 kW and was recently fully serviced by Penske Power Systems’
Townsville branch. The MTU operating system, which manages the
vessel’s propulsion and entire ship operating systems, was also
repaired by Penske’s expert MTU electronics team.
YWAM Medical Ships’ team was thankful to Penske Power
Systems for a job well done. In an email, Matt Scott from YWAM MS,
said, “The ship just arrived back to Port Moresby yesterday after a
very successful two weeks of medical training in the rivers of the
Gulf Province.
“In that time, 100 volunteers set up clinics in 16 villages and treated
over 3,200 patients for a wide range of illnesses. Our eye surgeons
restored sight to 53 people who had poor to no sight at all.”
Darren James, Penske’s Townsville Branch Manager said, “This
was such an interesting vessel for our team to work on, and we are
really thrilled that in our small way we were able to give back to the
people of PNG through our customer YWAM.”

or the three months ended June 30, 2016, income from
continuing operations attributable to common shareholders
increased 0.6% to $94.7 million, and related earnings per share
increased 6.7% to $1.11 when compared to the same period last
year. Total automotive retail units increased 6.2% and total revenue
increased 6.8% to $5.3 billion. Excluding foreign exchange, total revenue
increased 9.2%. Same-store retail revenue increased 0.2%. Excluding
foreign exchange, same-store retail revenue increased 2.7%. Foreign
exchange rates negatively impacted earnings per share attributable to
common shareholders by $0.03 for the three months ended June 30, 2016.
Commenting on the company’s results, Chairman Roger Penske said,
“I am very pleased with the performance of our business in the second
quarter. Not only did we produce another quarter of record results, we
continued to grow by acquiring five commercial truck dealerships in
Canada, and we solidified our capital structure by issuing new 10-year
senior subordinated notes at 5.5%. Further, the Brexit vote did not impact
the performance of our business in the second quarter, and I am pleased
to report that our U.K. business has remained strong to date since the
Brexit vote.”
Automotive Retail Highlights of the Second Quarter
Retail Unit Sales +6.2% to 115,106

For the six months ended June 30, 2016, total revenue increased 7.2%
to $10.1 billion, including a 1.3% increase in same-store retail revenue.
Excluding foreign exchange, total revenue increased 9.6%, while same-store
retail revenue increased 3.7%. Total automotive retail unit volume increased
8.0%, including 0.3% on a same-store basis. Income from continuing
operations attributable to common shareholders increased 2.2% to
$174.0 million and related earnings per share increased 6.4% to $2.00 when
compared to the same period last year. Foreign exchange rates negatively
impacted earnings per share attributable to common shareholders by $0.06.
Acquires Additional 14% of Penske Truck Leasing
On July 27, 2016, the company acquired an additional 14.4% interest in
Penske Truck Leasing Co., L.P. (“PTL”), from subsidiaries of GE Capital
Global Holdings, LLC, for approximately $498.7 million. The purchase price
was funded using existing liquidity including the company’s U.S. credit
agreement. After completion of the purchase, PAG now holds a 23.4%
ownership interest and will continue to account for the ownership interest
using the equity method of accounting. By acquiring the additional interest
in PTL, the company expects to realize accretion to earnings per share and
additional cash flow from cash tax savings and the annual cash distributions
PTL provides to its partners. It is estimated the transaction will provide at
least $0.25 per share in earnings accretion on an annualized basis as well
as significant cash tax savings heavily weighted to the first few years of
the investment.

Lunchroom Opens
on UTI Campus

AG’s East Region recently celebrated their outstanding
relationship with Universal Technical Institute (UTI) by unveiling
a PAG-branded lunchroom at UTI’s Exton, Pennsylvania, campus.
UTI students and staff were part of this special day as well as
members of the East Operations executive team – John Cragg
(Executive Vice President), Joe Cammarata (Fixed Operations
Director), Margaret Lane (Vice President of Human Resources),
Peter Klein (Area Vice President, Turnersville AutoMall), Ryan
Sowell (Human Resources Manager, Turnersville AutoMall) and
Jackie Szramowski (East Region Recruiter).

The day started with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. During two
consecutive presentation sessions attended by over 400 students,
the East Operations team addressed the topic, “Why work for
PAG?” and discussed the special partnership between PAG and
UTI, the scope of our company, employee benefits and held a
question and answer session. Each presentation concluded with a
meal in the lunchroom for all staff and students in attendance.
The PAG-branded lunchroom is part of a much larger initiative to
focus on hiring the best and brightest technicians as they enter the
workforce. UTI students are known for their excellent training and
education and possess the professionalism and drive to lead a
successful career as a technician.
Future Tech Nights Prove Popular with Students
I
ncoming UTI students who have enrolled
in the program but not yet started their
studies have the unique ability to attend
Future Tech Nights sponsored at various
PAG East Region dealerships. These
Future Tech Nights provide an opportunity
for the students and their parents to see
first-hand the type of work environment
and opportunities they will have with their
UTI degree. The students learn first-hand
about the benefits of working for PAG and
what they can expect as an entry-level
technician.
Future Tech Nights have already been
held this year at Hudson Toyota-NissanCJD, Lexus of Edison, Gateway Toyota,
Mercedes-Benz of Fairfield and
Audi-Mercedes-Benz-Porsche of Tysons
Corner. Dealership attendees typically
include General Managers, Service
Managers, Shop Foreman and one or two
technicians. Having a PAG technician who
was a former UTI student speak to the

audience provides valuable insight.
Personnel from the East Region are usually
in attendance as well. As part of the Future
Tech Night activities, the group gets a tour
of the dealership with special focus placed
on the work bays and service departments.

T
he Western Region Reception Center (RC) and Service
Business Development Center (BDC) in Chandler, Arizona,
proudly celebrated Employee Appreciation Day as well as the
Service BDC’s one-year anniversary.
The event was a huge success and
participation was paramount. A raffle was
held as one aspect of the day’s activities,
and the stores generously provided some
exciting giveaways. The team members
had earned raffle tickets by going above
and beyond to satisfy a guest, help a
fellow team member or improve a
departmental process. Area General
Managers, Service Managers, Parts and Sales Managers and
Executive Vice President Bernie Wolfe stopped by throughout the
day to thank the team and extend their best wishes.
The RC and BDC are companion departments. The RC greets
the initial caller for 38 dealerships in Arizona and California with
consistency on a daily basis. Each staff member answering calls
has an in-depth, detailed knowledge of all the store’s call-handling
processes for sales, service, finance and parts as well as the
management team and its employees.
The BDC is a one-stop process, and representatives excel in
customized and specialized reservations for guests looking to have
their vehicle serviced. The BDC is currently engaged with 20
dealerships in Arizona, California and Texas.

Date Night – It’s On Us!
S
hane and Ariceli Sharp are a very busy family with two small
sons who reside in Hurricane Lake Estates. They were very
excited about participating in Date Night Test-Drive sponsored by
Landers Automotive of Benton and waited three months for their
turn. Ariceli knew immediately she wanted to test-drive a Jeep
Wrangler, her dream car!
On a Thursday afternoon, Landers
delivered a 2016 Jeep Wrangler to their
home. On the front seat was a box of
chocolates, yellow roses and a gift card for
dinner at Samurai Japanese Steakhouse
and Sushi. The vehicle didn’t stay in the
driveway long! Aricelli loved the V6 engine,

heavy axels, stabilizer bars and extracapacity fuel tank. Both of the Sharps loved the storage capacity

Road Rally with a Purpose
M
INI of Warwick held its first rally of the year in
April, which always serves to bring together
MINI enthusiasts, and this time it was for a good
cause to help their local community. The MINI of
Warwick staff and over 50 MINI owners and their
guests rallied from the dealership to the North
Kingstown Food Pantry. Collectively, they donated
over 400 pounds of food and essential items to
support the food pantry in their tireless effort to care
for the less fortunate in the region. The involvement
from the MINI community is always outstanding!

Event Promotes a
Healthy Lifestyle
B
uilt around the theme, “A Healthy Employee is
a Productive Employee,” PAG’s Florida area
dealerships held their very first on-site AngioScreen
event, another helpful preventative health
maintenance initiative, as part of their on-going
wellness program. The event was conducted by
Tenet Florida Physician Services.
Statistics show that every 30 seconds an
American has a heart attack; every 45 seconds an
American has a stroke and every hour there are
100 deaths from vascular disease. AngioScreen
provides information on blood pressure, pulse and
heart rhythm, weight and BMI measurements,
fitness levels, and a very quick ultrasound
procedure to look for plaque buildup and blockage
in the arteries.
The employees who participated appreciated the
one-on-one consultation to examine their results.
Copies of all the screens and measurements were
given to each employee to share with their private
physician.

animals, the employees, families, and their

The 2017 Porsche 911 revealed!
triving to finish 2015 with a strong month, the technicians at
Ferrari Maserati of Central New Jersey and Bentley Edison set a
goal of achieving $150,000 in fixed gross for December. When all
was said and done, they actually exceeded their goal by topping out
at $154,000.
In recognition of their hard work and accomplishment, the
dealerships hosted a car racing event for the group at Pole Position
Raceway Indoor Karting in Jersey City, New Jersey. Instead of
working under a car, they were behind the wheel competing at every
turn in some fun-filled action in their go-karts.

the giveaway of a flat-screen television, which generates

Employee Appreciation Breakfast
T
he team at Lexus of Chandler came together for their second
annual employee appreciation breakfast. This tradition brings
the entire staff together to highlight the successes of the previous
year, socialize and recognize team members for their standout
efforts to provide exceptional service to guests and fellow teammates.
“We have a great group of people who come to work every day
and work hard to provide outstanding services to our customers,
and we really appreciate everything they do,” said General
Manager Mark Spendley. “It is not often that we can get the entire
team together collectively, and this is our way of saying thank you.”
As attendees enjoyed a hot breakfast served by local eatery,
Daily Dos, the management team from each respective department
took a few moments to share 2015 highlights. The event
culminated with the anticipated announcement of Employee of the
Year, department and dealership awards. Nomination ballots were
submitted to management in the weeks prior and reflect the
ongoing positive sentiment expressed amongst the entire team.
“As managers, we had no say in this year’s recipients”, said New
Car Sales Manager Randy Redd. “This was 100 percent the
decision of their fellow employees, and it’s nice to see them
acknowledged by their peers.” The 2014 Employee of the Year
award recipient, Service Consultant Misty Miller, was on hand to
present her fellow service consultant with the 2015 award. Dax Wood
graciously accepted and jokingly told Miller to “let go of it.”
Lots of laughs, great food and the celebratory atmosphere was a
wonderful way to start a weekend and plans are already under way
for next year’s event.

or the third year in a row Porsche North Scottsdale has
been awarded the prestigious 2016 Porsche Premier
Dealership Award. Overall, this is the fifteenth time Porsche
North Scottsdale has received this award.
This award is presented to 25 Porsche dealers in North
America each year for achieving the highest level of
performance in every phase of the business and
representation of the Porsche brand.
A celebration dinner was held for all the employees to
recognize their hard work and dedication in earning this
award once again. Doug Battie, Regional Manager of
Porsche Cars North America, presented General Manager
Dave Zoloto with the Premier award, which Dave accepted
on behalf of the entire PNS team. Also in attendance from
Porsche Cars North America were Kenneth Lin and
Cindy Ogawa.

Mercedes-Benz of Teesside Gets a New Look
M
ercedes-Benz of Teesside celebrated its 25th anniversary in
style by unveiling a stunning new look.
The retailer’s facilities on Yarm Road, Stockton-on-Tees, have
been transformed to accommodate the increasingly appealing
Mercedes-Benz model range, adopt the manufacturer’s latest
brand identity and provide customers with some of the finest
facilities in automotive retailing. The completion of the six-month
project was marked with the unveiling of a plaque by David George
— Sales Director, Mercedes-Benz Passenger Cars UK.
Central to the improvements is a completely restyled and
enlarged showroom which, with its open plan design, now
displays up to 35 vehicles.
Visitors to Mercedes-Benz of Teesside can now relax in a more
comfortable lounge. Areas are provided for those customers
wanting to watch TV while they are waiting, enjoy some quiet time
with a newspaper or continue with their work in a business zone
with complimentary Wi-Fi and USB charging stations.
Other new developments include an expanded display of
Approved Used Mercedes-Benz and smart vehicles that features
just over 100 cars and is arranged by model. An on-site,
convenient smart repair center has also been opened to repair
minor bodywork damage including scratches, bumper scuffs and
alloy wheel refurbishment.
Jeremy Simpson, the Retailer’s Head of Business and Market
Area Sales Director, was confident that the enhanced facilities
would attract more potential customers to the brand. “We’ve
created an outstanding, modern retail environment, and the
reaction from customers has been tremendous with many
commenting on how impressive it looks and how welcoming it
feels too,” said Jeremy.

Much-needed TLC
T
he Sytner Finance team spent a full day at BEN doing
numerous general maintenance projects, painting, weeding
and landscaping to help out the residential home.
BEN is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to “care
for automotive people, and their dependants, in times of need”
while maintaining their culture and values. They offer practical
help, support and advice that makes a lasting, positive difference
to people’s lives. In addition to a wide range of free confidential
information, advice and support services, they operate highly
regarded care centers at various locations throughout the UK plus
a day care center in Coventry.

“Be Inspired”

entley Leicester recently hosted their
unique “Be Inspired” event at their
newly refurbished showroom. The evening
was a celebration of art, design and
fashion, and how these concepts have all
been long influencers in the production of
Bentley Motor Cars.
For one night only, the dealership
displayed two one-of-a-kind, specially
commissioned cars, a pale velvet GT and a
uniquely designed car by Sir Peter Blake,
which will be auctioned at the Goodwood
Festival of Speed this year.
Additionally, representatives from the
House of Temperely and Kate Spence were
also on hand with items from their latest
collection and took part in a Q & A session
about the process behind their collections.
The event attracted nearly 100 guests
who were treated to fine champagne and
canapés. They were offered the opportunity
to take part in a raffle to support local
charity, Rainbows, and a total of £450 was
raised on their behalf. One lucky winner
won a weekend in a Bentaya, while another
won a piece of art by Marie Louise Wrightson.

and incorporates the sporting spirit of the legendary Porsche that
delivered countless podium finishes. The enthusiastic reception

718 Boxster has enjoyed, with AutoExpress declaring, “Porsche

most desirable roadsters money can buy.”

Top Technicians Join the
United Autosport Race
Team at Le Mans
M
ichael Childs and Ahmet Kenan, two of West London
Audi’s top performing technicians, won a competition to
join the highly successful United Autosport race team at the
world-famous Le Mans circuit in June. Joining forces with the
race team technicians they helped to prepare and support
two cars for the one-hour support race for what is regarded to
be the biggest race on earth — the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Scott Redman, Head of Aftersales for West London Audi,
said, “We constantly measure the performance of our
technicians across a number of disciplines including the
quality of their work, the cleanliness of their work bays and
how well they take care of our customers’ cars with the
correct proactive covers, etc.; they have all scored very highly.
Michael and Ahmet narrowly won a close-fought competition
to join United Autosport at Le Mans this year.”

when we got to Flagstaff her car was
riding oddly and making some

in Flagstaff and determined it was a
powertrain problem in the SULEV
engine… luckily covered under
warranty. The only problem….

miles! Thanks to AAA and Steve Backman we were able to
get the car towed to Scottsdale not knowing when or how
much the repairs would be. Further, I had to head back to
California, so my 18-year-old daughter was in a new place,
without people she knew, and without a car! Not the best
feeling for a dad.
Given that backdrop I reached out to Steve who immediately
assumed the “quarterback” role. He had the car diagnosed,
kept me and Alexandria apprised, coordinated the repairs and
even assisted me by making sure he provided car service for
Alexandria from Sky Harbor to Scottsdale to pick up her car!
Normally I would say that was good news for me… but being
500 miles away in California it was downright fantastic! I
appreciated the genuine consideration, compassion, caring
and detailed/prompt responses from Steve. All rolled together
he turned what could have been the worst BMW experience
into an experience that brought us great confidence in BMW.
Major kudos to Steve! If we have any future concerns, we are
sure to reach out directly to him!

My experience with Lexus of
Madison was one of the most
awesome-inspiring experiences of
my life. It all started when my car
broke down. After my vehicle was
towed to Lexus of Madison, I called
and spoke with one of the
receptionists and explained my
dilemma. I scheduled an
appointment for the weekend. Upon
John Ashworth
my arrival, I was greeted by a
concierge named Dan Pape from the service department who
has always treated me well. They allowed me to have a loaner
at my disposal until they figured out the problem with my car.
After being greeted by Dan, I started looking at the cars on
the lot. There was one particular car I was really interested in. I
was then greeted by Matthew Walton, another great guy. I told
Matt I really liked this one car. After speaking with him he gave
me his card to get in touch with him.
A few days later I got the news on my vehicle, which was a
huge blow. After speaking with Dan, I decided it would not be in
my best interest to invest any more money into my old car. I
asked Dan to connect me with the sales department, and when
Matthew was not available that day, she connected me with
John Ashworth. My experience with John was so enlightening
and professional, he made the whole process very easy to
understand, which ultimately lead me into making a good
business decision for me and my family. When I got the call
from John who said, “You are now the owner of a new 2016
Lexus SUV,” it seemed like a miracle. The final process was very
smooth in its transition. I was fully informed about my new SUV.
It was an amazing experience and I would like to thank
everyone at Lexus of Madison.

Accord. From the

Honda vehicles, we have faithfully had them serviced at Spring
Branch Honda.
Since our daughter lives in Fayetteville now there have been a
few occasions when we have been visiting there where we have
taken her car in for service at Honda of Fayetteville. The service
advisor we have dealt with is Brian Avra. What a help Brian has
been to us during these service calls. He even helped us out by
contacting our long-time service advisor in Houston,
Erik Baatz, to look at the car’s history and work with us on what
might need to be done service-wise to the car. Brian has gone
out of his way to help us.
I tell our Spring Branch Honda dealer all the time that we have
purchased Hondas over the years because we like the product,
but the main reason we continue to purchase them is the
excellent service we receive from them and now Honda of
Fayetteville.

Eric (Rossman), thank you for the
service my Z3 received. Since
Thursday I have taken it out for a drive
several times with not a sound coming
from the wheels. It’s amazing, and I am
so happy. For the first time since I
bought it in 2009, I enjoyed being
behind the wheel 100 percent.
Thank you also for the repair on the
top. I don’t know what you did but it
used to be that when I lowered it, I had Eric Rossman
to get out before it completely folded
and straighten the plastic window. Now, it folds perfectly. Last
but not least, thank you for having the plastic part of the door
handle replaced free of charge, for giving me a very nice 3
Series to drive home while the Z3 was in service, and for the
future service suggestions.
I used to think that taking the Z3 to United BMW Roswell
would be too expensive. Not true! Had I brought it to you in
the first place, I would have actually saved not only in dollar
terms, but also saved myself a lot of grief.

a very bad experience with a
dealership in the town where we live
and decided to travel the two-hour
drive to Buford. We had purchased a
new Toyota Rav 4 at the Toyota

returned there on this trip we were left waiting outside in the
hot sun for almost 45 minutes. After this disappointment, we
decided to stop at Honda Mall of Georgia. Honda vehicles
aren’t our first choice as we really like Toyotas. However, due
to the kind, patient service we received from Salesman
Justin Breedlove, we purchased a 2003 Toyota Camry from
your dealership and will consider traveling back to your store
for our next vehicle purchase.

I moved to Roswell about a month ago from New Jersey. Shortly
thereafter, I encountered a malfunction issue on my BMW… the
warning message on the screen stated, “DRIVE TRAIN
MALFUNCTION, CONTACT BMW.”
I made an appointment at United BMW Roswell for the next
day and got there two hours earlier than my appointment. I was
greeted warmly by Lindsay Schultz. She told me that although I
was early, not to worry. Her welcoming personality, professionalism
and support impressed me; she arranged a loaner for me and
advised I was in good hands. She gets five stars from me for her
ethics and professionalism.
Carol Craig, my service advisor, acknowledged receiving my
car and promised to take a look at the car and diagnose the
issue. She called me almost every day on the status of my car,
and I noticed that she was actually concerned about me and my
car and resolution of the problem. The story begins when she
called to tell me the issue related to the car was something not
covered under warranty, and I would have to pay a significant
amount of money to cover it. That was a terrible shock! I asked
her to meet me and show me the broken part, so I went to the
dealership and Carol directed me to the workshop where I was
shown the broken part.
What has resonated with me personally were Carol’s words,
“Sir, I did not feel like breaking this sad news to you so I was
waiting since yesterday to muster up the courage to share this
information with you.” This shows her personal attachment to
the customer as well as loyalty to her dealership. This mix is hard
to find.
The final surprise was the entry of (I should say SUPERHERO)
Bryan White, the Service Manager. He listened to Carol and me
about the issue, made a few calls and muttered the most
beautiful words, “Sir, don’t worry, we will cover the parts.”
Doesn’t this sound like a fairy tale? I don’t care whether it
sounds like a movie or a fairytale because it’s not… It was all
real and they have won me over for life. I have nothing more
than deep respect and well wishes to this great trio —
Lindsay Schultz, Carol Craig and Bryan White.

they have been servicing
both cars for nearly
15 years. For service I have
worked with Glen Widdop.
In all my time working with
Glen, I have always been L-R: Luis Lopez and Glen Widdop
greeted in a friendly
manner. Practically from day one he remembered my name. I
receive clear estimates, I’m always called if something comes
up, and the car is always on time as promised unless there is
something discovered during service.
One time I was on vacation driving through LA, and I noticed
my car was running roughly and a warning light came on. I
called Glen on my cell phone and explained the problem. Glen
had me check the seating of the gas cap, problem solved.
Head smack, I should have remembered the gas cap. But ask
yourself, how many service writers would interrupt their day
and help you long distance on a cell phone? Not many.
I like the fact that I see the same people year after year.
Luis Lopez brings me my car after servicing. In addition to
Glen, many of the service writers have been there for many
years. The employees are friendly and helpful. For me, that’s
always a good sign that something is working right at a
dealership. If you’re considering a BMW, I wholeheartedly
recommend you give these folks a try. In my book they are a
first-rate, very professional group.

I was at a High Performance Driving Event at Laguna Seca in
Monterey. While there, I attempted to change the rear brake
pads on my 2015 S4. I had not done this myself before and
made an error while doing this. I decided it would be better to
stop where I was and get professional help to correct my
mistake.
My fellow Audi owners all insisted I get the car to your service
department even though other Audi dealerships were closer.
They called Dave Hofkins in the service department, and he
said to get it there and they would look at it as soon as it arrived.
Upon arrival, Dave immediately took the car into the service bay
and asked Eric Christie to look into fixing my mistake. Eric
agreed to stay later than he had planned to make sure the car
was fixed. Eric was very thorough in checking out the error and
was able to reassemble and correct my mistake, complete the
pad change for both rears (I had spare pads with me) and fully
flush the brake system.

guidelines the next time you submit photos:
• When shooting digital pictures please use the highest resolution or “best quality” settings on your
camera. Adjust “quality” setting to “super fine” and “image size” to the largest size available.
• Jpeg files are required at 300K minimum, or larger for better quality.
• Provide properly exposed, in-focus photos only. (If photos are blurry and off-color, try to reshoot to
improve image quality.)
• Take a few photos of the same image; pick the best shot to send.
• Use the best camera equipment you have available.
• Fill the frame with the subject. Move in close to your subject.
