INNOVATION
Since its beginning in 1956, ADIRA’s
specialty is to develop innovative
technical solutions to cut and bend
sheet metal and therefore to
manufacture machinery for the metal
industry. ADIRA’s portfolio includes
press brakes, shears, laser cutting
machines, bending robotic cells and
automatic systems to cut and bend
metal plates.
Being a family business, ADIRA was
awarded with the SME Leader award
during 6 consecutive years, given by
the national and international banks
operating in Portugal. This award
distinguishes the financial health of
Adira.
Due to the significant amount of
investment made in innovation, ADIRA
has been constantly receiving
worldwide recognition, having received

A H-frame for extra stiffness, a hybrid circuit with
Greendynamics system to cut your electricity bills and a
capacity to self-adjust in most of the bending parameters,

FRAME DESIGN
OPERATIVE TECHNOLOGY
BLUEDRIVE
HEXA-C STRUCTURE
H-FRAME
Adira provides 3 operative
technologies to bending
machines. Bluedrive is a full servo
electric drive with one or more
motors and balls screws.
This concept is used on BB range
and provides fast bends with big
cuts on costs, because, while is
idle, the motors stops and don’t
consume energy.
Adira revolutionized the market introducing the
Hexa-C structure, concept used in the range of the
PM, PA, BB and PF, ensuring more precision in
bending.
In H-frame philosophy the structure of the machine
is closed, avoiding deflections and typical torsions
of a conventional C structure. This type of frame is
used on GB press brake.
The principle of active compensation of the
deflection is used simultaneously in the upper
beam and crowning table, acting over the variable
geometry of the structure controlled by CNC,
through a close circuit control system.
GREENDYNAMICS
It refers to a hybrid hydraulic circuit that by using
servo pumps avoids the use of a proportional
value, producing a much softer, faster and more
accurate movement.

The Hexa-C structure ensures that beams (movable
and fixed) remain aligned in any load condition
contrary to what occurs in conventional
C-structures. Thus, when the resilient structure
deforms, the guiding of the beam maintain the
vertical position ensuring precision bending.
CONVENTIONAL
SYNCHRONIZED
HYDRAULIC
It’s a conventional and well proven hydraulic
circuit with pump and proportional value. It is an
acknowledged, practical and very reliable
solution that ADIRA redesign to improve bending
machine’s energy consumption and efficiency.
Main advantages:
1.Improved bending accuracy because movable
beam remains perfectly aligned with fixed beam
(avoid the effect of movable beam rotation typical
on conventional C-frames).
The precision is achieved through the efficient
management of the movement of the fixed beam
and effective management of the deflection of the
structural components of the machine during the
bending process.
2.Largest immunity to structure torsion effects in
case of bending not in the centre of the machine.
The H structure allows a very accurate definition of
the deflection, and ensures the effect of beams
indefinitely rigid, i.e., with null deflection. That will
allow that the tools will be parallel, without de
typical curve deformation, and with well distributed
strengths, even with off-center loads: conditions to
an excellent bending. It permits to operate with
accuracy in any part of the table, which allows
sequential operations along the table.
3.Eliminate the needs of extra devices for reading
correction of the movable beam position encoders.
4.Maintaining throat depth on the frames it’s an
advantage comparing with H-frames as this feature
is important for many applications since it makes
simpler the removal of parts, execution of box type
and makes things easier for tooling setup.
5.The Hexa C philosophy presents advantages in
terms of sturdiness resulting therefore on a lighter
frame and, consequently, lower environmental impact.
