General Information
St Catherine’s holiday programs aim to provide a safe and stimulating environment where
children can go during the holidays to play, relax and learn new skills.
All our programs are open to the students
of the school, siblings, boys and girls in the
community and some to adults. We offer a
range of programs including multi-activity,
sport specific, educational, vocational and
residential stays.
The standard opening hours are from
9.00am-3.30pm with the main activities on
offer from 9.30am. Busy working parents can
take advantage of our early and late clubs, no
matter what program they are taking, which
extend the day from 7.30am-6.00pm at an
additional charge.

Early and Late Clubs
(Available all holidays for anyone attending
holiday programs).
Balancing family life with holiday programs,
work and other commitments can be
challenging. We endeavour to support
working families that face the challenge of
supervising their children outside of the
program times by providing early and late
clubs at an extra cost. This service operates
daily from 7.30-9.00am and 3.30-6.00pm. It is
important that all children are collected no
later than 6.00pm, otherwise a penalty of
$10.00 for each 15 minutes will be applied to
cover staffing costs.

Booking Information
Bookings cannot be made without full payment
at the time of booking. All registration details
(including special needs, emergency contacts
and authorisations) must be completed before
bookings can be accepted. Please advise staff in
writing of any changes.
There are no refunds, credits or transfers for
days booked and paid for without a medical
certificate. Refund requests must be made
in writing to the Director of Sport and BTC
with attached medical certificate, which must
be received no later than two weeks after the
holiday period.
If a participant is aged 12 years or under they
MUST be collected by an adult nominated
on the enrolment form. Notice in writing
is required if the child is to be collected by
anyone not nominated on the Enrolment
Form. Children aged over 12 are allowed to
leave unaccompanied, providing a letter is sent
with the enrolment form from the parent/
guardian giving permission for them to do so.
Program hours are to be strictly adhered to.
Please ensure participants arrive, enrol and
are collected on time to avoid any late fee. St
Catherine’s School reserves the right to cancel
programs if there are insufficient enrolments
at no cost to the participants.

Everyday Programs

J4F (JUST FOR FUN)
Everyday | Boys and girls aged 5+ |
9.30am-3.30pm | $50 a day or $225 for
the week (5 days) (Extra $25 charge for
excursion day - Wednesdays)
J4F (Just for fun) is a multi-activity program
offering a wide range of activities to suit all
ages and interests. These activities vary from
sports to performing and creative arts and
offer girls and boys a great opportunity to
try out new activities in a safe environment
surrounded by supportive and experienced
staff. Our program enhances the development of skills, knowledge and understanding
in physical, social and emotional and intellectual areas.
Through the fun and exciting experiences
that we plan for our students on the Holiday
Program, we strive for students to develop
positive attitudes towards a physically active
lifestyle, nurture relationships with their
peers and improve their overall self-esteem
and leadership skills. We want to encourage
our students to challenge and question
the world around them and outside of the
classroom setting.

J4F EXCURSIONS
Once a week on a Wednesday, all girls and
boys will attend an excursion. There will be
an additional charge of $25 on these days
which will cover the cost of the activity,
transport if needed and an excursion
t-shirt for the day. No late bookings for an
excursion day will be accepted, please book
no later than the Wednesday prior to the
excursion. Please note that the excursion is
the only J4F option on Wednesdays.
TENNIS CAMP
Monday 27 June - Friday 15 July | Boys

$45 a day
(can be combined with J4F 12.30pm - 3.30pm
for an additional $20 except for Wednesdays
due to excursions)
Our tennis camp caters for boys and girls of
all abilities and provides young players the
opportunity to improve their tennis game,
work hard, make new friends and have a
lot of fun. Our tennis camps are run by our
Head of Tennis Mr Raphael Durek and his
fun team of staff.
Week 1
Monday 27 June - Friday 1 July
Whether you’re a Minecraft expert or just
starting out, this workshop will free your
imagination and give you all the technical skills
necessary to become a Master ‘Minecrafter’. To
top it off, you’ll use your newfound knowledge
and skills to create your own Minecraft
YouTube tutorial!
Using iPads as a movie making device, green
screen technology and your unique Minecraft
world, you will lead the demonstration of an

If you love Minecraft, and you love sharing your
creativity, then this workshop is just for you!
Turtles, Tiki and Tapa
Tuesday 28 June | Boys and girls aged 5+ | 9.30am 3.30pm | $65 (Aprons are available)
In this South Pacific inspired art workshop students will create
multi coloured prints on paper and fabric. Looking at the
geometric designs found on the bark tapa cloths of Tonga,
Samoa and Fiji, students will select a colour scheme and design
their own foam print. In addition students will create a central
motif for example a turtle, lizard or Tiki and develop their own
designs based on motifs typically used in the region. Please wear
clothes suitable for art as mess is part of the fun.
J4F Excursion - Event Cinemas
Bondi (Please note that the excursion is
the only J4F option on Wednesdays)
Wednesday 29 June | Boys and girls
aged 5+ | 9.30am - 3.30pm | $75 a day
We’ll head off with our friends to the Event
Cinemas at Bondi Junction to catch the
latest new release children’s film. Movie to
be confirmed closer to the date. Excursion
numbers are limited so please book early to
secure a place.
Building for the Future
Friday 1 July | Boys and girls aged 5+
| 9.30am - 3.30pm | $65
Is your child a budding builder, emerging
engineer or just crazy about construction
then Building for the Future is the workshop
for them. Students will explore the basic
foundations of construction and engineering as
they embark on a series of fun and challenging
micro building activities including a mini
pompom catapult and a boat that floats…
hopefully.
Master Chef
Thursday 30 June | Boys and girls aged
7+ | 9.30am - 3.30pm | $65
The Master Chef program is a unique
opportunity for children interested in cooking
to learn the basic skills and techniques needed
to embark on a lifetime love of cooking.
Participants will learn basics in: kitchen safety,
proper food handling, food preparation,
cooking and baking techniques all organised
around a theme.

StarTime Live to Sing and Dance
Wednesday 29 June - Friday 1 July | Boys and girls aged 5+ | 9.30am 3.30pm | $230 for 3 days (Students must enrol in all 3 days of the program)
If you are fans of hit TV shows like “The Voice” and “So You Think You Can Dance” or you
love nothing more than singing and dancing to your heart’s desire - then this is the workshop
for you! It will inspire your creative courage, build your confidence and allow your performer
within to shine! Inspired by “The Voice,” StarTime will be running our fun version of “blind
auditions”, where your mentor will plead for you to be on their team! You’ll also be involved
in singing and dance battles. Learn your favourite pop songs, industry tips & tricks for your
performance, proper microphone technique and the latest in Hip Hop choreography. Add
to this our lunch time talent quests and final day show for family and friends, and you have an
action packed workshop!
StarTime Heroes v Villains Film
Makers

Calling all Super Heroes and Super Villains!
StarTime needs YOU! Join us for this epic
Heroes v Villains Film Makers workshop and
create your very own action packed Super
Hero (or Super Villain) film! Star Time Heroes
v Villains Film Makers gives you the chance
to let your imagination run wild as you write,
act, direct and edit your own mini movie
using iPads and Green Screen technology!
Be guided by our experienced coaches as
you collaborate to learn the fundamentals
of filmmaking; framing, sound, lighting and
camera acting techniques. Become a pro
with some of the latest and greatest apps,
including time lapse sequencing and other
special effects to produce a dynamic and
edgy film that you’ll be proud to share with
all your friends and family! Who will save
the day in our Heroes V Villains Film Makers
Workshop!? Will it be you?
Week 2
Monday 4 July - Friday 8 July
Marvellous Maths
Monday 4 July | Boys and girls aged 5+ |
9.30am - 12.30pm | $60 (can be combined
with J4F 12.30pm - 3.30pm for an additional
$20)
Hop, jump or stretch your way across brightly
coloured life size boards. Add subtract,
multiply or divide numbers within your reach
to calculate your way to the finish line. Who
said that maths isn’t fun? Fancy speeding up
your times tables by racing a car around a
track or running a Holiday Program ‘tuck
shop’ to practice your money and financial
literacy? Measure the tennis court then set
it up for a game, time relay races and learn
about cubic metres by building an actual cubic
metre. Who said that learning is confined to a
classroom? On this program you will see that
we use maths everywhere and in everything!
Multi Sports
Monday 4 July and Tuesday 5 July | Boys
and girls aged 5+ | 9.30am - 3.30pm |
$65 a Day (can be booked as a single day or
both days for $120)
There’s no boring drills in our Multi Sports
workshop. We use a game sense approach
so students can learn and refine their skills
through a series of modified games to suit the
age and skill levels of our participants. Not only
is game sense the most fun way to learn skills
it also allows students to practice and refine
their skills in real game situations. Students will
rotate through a series of sessions in a number
of sports including but not limited to: AFL,
basketball, cricket, gymnastics, netball, soccer,
and tennis.
Cupcake Bake Off
Tuesday 5 July | Boys and girls aged
5+ | 9.30am-3.30pm | $65
Does your child have a sweet tooth and love
to help out in the kitchen? Our Cupake Bake
Off workshop is an introduction cooking,
kitchen safety and food preparation. In this
workshop students will work with their
group to bake batches of cupcakes that
they will then decorate or turn into a food
sculpture.

the Matilda Extravaganza. Imagine the

StarTime Matilda Extravaganza J4F Excursion – Australian
Museum, William Street Sydney
Monday 4 July – Friday 8 July | Boys and
girls aged 5+ | 9.30am - 3.30pm | $395
for 5 days (Students must enrol in all 5 days
of the program)
Inspired by the award winning musical, our
Matilda Extravaganza is an all singing, all
dancing musical Funfest that is not to be
missed! Become a true ‘Triple Threat’ (actor,
singer, dancer) as you are mentored by
some of the industries finest music theatre
performers. Learn a medley of smash hit
songs from the show, including ‘When I
Grow Up’, ‘Naughty’ & ‘Revolting Children.’
Then, perform some of the choreography
as featured in the professional show! You will
also be starring in a selection of scenes from
Matilda focusing on character work, stagecraft
and ensemble, you’ll learn all the “tricks of the
trade” throughout StarTime’s fun rehearsal
process. Not only this, we will have all the
classic features of a StarTime Extravaganza,
including our lunch time StarQuest & Red
Carpet Event where you can strut your stuff
dressed as your favourite musical theatre
(Please note that the excursion is the only

We will discover the wonders of our world
during our visit to the Australian Museum. We
will be immersed in indigenous culture in the
new exhibitions Bayala Nura: Yarning Country
and Pacific Spirit, unearth the secrets of

Break, Lock and Pop
Hip Hop
Wednesday 6 July| Boys and girls
aged 5+| 9.30am - 3.30pm | $65
Our Break, Lock and Pop Hip Hop
workshop will introduce our students to
Hip Hop, a fun and energetic style of dance
that encourages freedom of expression.
Our workshop, which will be expertly
lead by one of talented STC Studios dance
teachers, will help students to find their
own groove as they explore ‘New Skool’
lyrical hip hop styles and pay homage to
‘Old Skool’ hip hop styles such as break
dancing, popping and locking. Suitable for
beginners and more advanced dancers.
Gymnastics Jamberoo
Thursday 7 July and Friday 8 July |
Boys and girls aged 5+ | 9.30am 12.30pm | $45 per day (can be booked
as a single day or both days for $80, can
be combined with J4F12.30pm - 3.30pm
for an additional $20 per day)
Our Gymnastics Jamberoo is for
everyone. Our workshops will develop
strength, flexibility and co-ordination while
building confidence in body movement.
The program will comprise a variety
of activities including both men’s and
women’s artistic and rhythmic gymnastics
apparatus and skills.
Edible Science
Thursday July 7 | Boys
and girls aged 5+ |
9.30am - 3.30pm | $65
We’ve all heard the
expression ‘food for
thought’ well that sums
up our Edible Science
workshop in most literal
way. We will be using
ordinary household
kitchen ingredients to
make extraordinary
treats. Edible Science is
a hands on workshop
students that will challenge
students to think critically
and hypothesise about
the chemical reactions
occurring in our series of
edible experiments.
Youngsters Yoga
Friday 8 July | Boys and girls aged
5+ | 9.30am - 12.30pm | $45 (can be
combined with J4F12.30pm - 3.30pm for
an additional $20)
Our Youngster’s Yoga Workshop utilises
a child friendly and fun approach to
introduce yoga to our students through
the use of games and storytelling. Yoga
not only improves physical attributes such
strength, flexibility and balance but it is
great for mental wellbeing being linked to
improving children’s concentration, selfesteem and reducing stress and anxiety.

Joyful learning is what we are all about here
at St Catherine’s. If your child has a love of
learning and wants to power through even
though it is the school holidays, then this
experience is for your child. This program is
particularly designed for students who are
at the early stages of reading and writing and
who, with the guidance of a qualified Primary
teacher, will learn in a way that is fun and
multi- sensory. Learn how to be a rock star
reader in the fantastic, literature rich library
we are lucky enough to use this holiday.
What child doesn’t love to make a mess? At
our Magnificent Mess workshop we will be
encouraging our students to get their hands
dirty and make a mess to discover the magic
of some basic science theory. Students will
learn about polymers by making your own
slime, acid-base reactions by creating fizzing
eruptions of colour and surface tension
as they attempt to make the biggest and
strongest bubbles.

Mystery Solving
Tuesday 12 July | Boys and

Super sleuth’s required to
decipher the clues, crack the
codes and use your powers
of deduction to determine
the culprit in our new St
Catherine’s mystery. Our
Mystery Solving workshop is a
great opportunity for students
to improve their problem
solving and critical thinking skills
in a really fun and engaging way.
From the Forest to the Reef
Tuesday 12 July | Boys and girls aged
5+ | 9.30am - 12.30pm | $45 (can be
combined with J4F 12.30pm - 3.30pm for
an additional $20)
Based on the book “The World That
We Want” by Kim Michelle Toft students
will create a mixed media, multi layered
artwork using a variety of painting
materials and techniques. Students will
examine the illustrations by Toft and look
at the features of her silk paintings of the
North Queensland habitats. Students
will draw, paint and embellish their own
designs and incorporate embossing foil
and modelling clay to create a relief
element. Please wear clothes suitable for
art as mess is part of the fun. Aprons are
available.

Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), Moore Park

Calling all sports fanatics to join us for our
excursion to Allianz Stadium and the SCG.
During our visit we will go on a behind the
scenes tour designed just for kids of the
historic SCG and Allianz Stadium home
to clubs such as the Sydney Swans, Sydney
FC, Sydney Roosters, Sydney Sixers and
the Waratahs as well as join in some fun
games inspired by the upcoming 2016 Rio
Olympics.

Have you dreamed of making your own video clip,
singing your favourite song? Well in our Video Voice
workshop, you’ll get that chance. Use smart devices
and exciting apps to bring your inner SuperStar to
life! This workshop is perfect for having fun with
friends, as you work as a group to sing, perform,
record and share your own music video clip.
Boot Camp and Giant Games
Incursion
Friday 15 July | Boys and girls aged 5+ |
9.30am- 12.30pm | $45 (can be combined with
J4F 12.30pm - 3.30pm for an additional $20)
The crew from Bounce 4 Kids to host our Boot
Camp and Giant Games Incursion. Students will
get their bodies moving with Boot camp which will
include obstacles and army rolls and then give their
brains a workout as they work in teams and battle
it out using logic and memory on the mega game
mats.
