Quilting Classes
In two class sessions you can learn fusible machine appliqué and machine
quilting to make your own “Faith, Hope, Love” wall hanging. Once

Pick your favorite fabrics out of a charm pack and a few strips of

easy project. Perfect for beginners who want to hone their quilting

Harvest Moon has become a good friend at Harper's. Now is the time to approach log cabin block
assembly and many variations. This off center log cabin block will make

complete the class before counting the number of fabric logs in the quilt!

Quilting Classes
This is a very fun quilt to make and is a perfect first quilting project. It’s a
no-stress, forgivingly simple quilt. Whether you choose flannels or quilting

The 'speed of light' describes how quickly this non-traditional four patch
quilt assembles. Strip sets are made production style and attached to the
remaining patch to assemble into the quilt top. Seam matching does not
exist until the rows are sewn together. A fast and fun project to warm those
cool autumn evenings. Alternative block settings are included in the pattern. Scrappy or controlled palette, Lightspeed is fun and fast!!

X Quilt
The X Quilt is 'just' a traditional log cabin block made with graduated
colors and set on point. Repeat dramatic gray and black as in the sample or
choose your own family of colors. Partial blocks replace setting triangles to
give it an irregular octagon shape. Traditional square shape is an option.
This pattern makes a great throw size quilt. This quilt calls out to be
viewed and inspires any style of quilting artist.

Creative Quilting with Your Walking Foot - Make your tops into Quilts
Learn how to prepare a quilt sandwich & quilt with a walking foot. You will learn how to start and
stop your quilting lines, stitch straight lines and gentle curves. Plan quilting designs using these
basics shapes. Using these skills your next quilt will be free of tucks and puckers. You can say you

Free Motion Made Fun
In two sessions you will learn and practice the skills needed for free motion. In
the first session learn how to mark a stencil design on a quilt top and follow the
line. You can choose from a variety of possible choices or bring in a stencil you
like! In the second session the emphasis is on developing muscle memory and
filling the open spaces with a memorized design. Loops, meander, stars, teardrops
and flames are among the possibilities. As an added bonus, bring a quilt top and
we'll plan a quilting design together!

My First Sewing Class
This class is designed to introduce the sewing machine to beginning youth (8-15yrs). Operation of
a sewing machine includes threading, bobbin winding and installation, identification of proper
settings, completing straight stitching and troubleshooting. Students bring their own machine or
borrow one of ours. This class is a pre-requisite to Youth Studio, unless
you have been to a Youth Studio in the last quarter or Summer Camp.

if available or it will be mailed to you. Supplies are not included in the registration fee

♦ The Basics of Clothing Construction
Learn the techniques of basic clothing construction. The Perfect Skirt
includes pockets, gathered waist, zipper, and applying a yoke waistband.
The Everyday Tank uses bias tape on all of the edges for a professional
finish as well as additional shaping. The Garden Dress uses darts for a
semi-fitted look and gathered waist that ties in the back for a flowy dress.

If Harper’s must cancel a class due to insufficient enrollment, individuals registered for that class will be contacted and given the choice of a full refund or
the substitution of another class.

Your volunteer contribution is needed to provide security blankets for traumatized and/or
critically ill children through Project Linus! Various kits and patterns are available, including
Lily’s Hug™, a weighted blanket for autistic children. Bring your basic sewing tools – scissors,
pins, thread, etc. You may bring your own donation of fabric or we will have previously donated
fabric available. Completed quilts are welcome for show and tell. Harper’s is a drop-off location
for your donations of completed quilts. Want more info, email us! The good work of this group
results in 5-45 quilts being donated for children every month! Please pre-register, limit 10.

Quilting Bee
One of the charms of the quilting bee was the social time women spent sewing together. If you
have a quilting project that cries out for a little hands-on help—or you just want to enjoy the company of other quilters—join us! Mary Honas will be our hostess/facilitator.

Join us to catch up and finish up! This group is always ready to share, compare,
and compliment. It's a great way to give yourself a little "me" time to work on
your projects - spread out, use the design wall and get help with those tricky
techniques. Bring your project, machine, and a snack to share for a fun evening.
