Our Mission Statement
The love of Jesus Christ gathers us
together to welcome and embrace all
God’s Children.
El amor de Jesus Cristo nos unifica para
acoger a todos como hijos de Dios
Letter From Father Wallace
Dear Parishioners,
Today we celebrate Father’s Day. It gives us an opportunity to reflect on this important
vocation of being a husband and father. One of the saints that always come to mind for me
as a wonderful role model for fathers is the great St. Joseph. A father who spends quality
time with his wife and family follows the example of St. Joseph. He is a role model to his
family in living out his Catholic faith and being a light of Christ to others. This father has
joy in his heart and is a man of prayer. This Catholic dad honors his wife and lifts up the
Sacrament of Marriage in the eyes of his children as something special and sacred. I would
encourage our dads to reflect on four principles:
Your vocation is to get your family to heaven.
Your children are always watching you. They will likely model later in life what they
learn at home from you and your wife.
We are made for heaven, not this world. Therefore, we should act accordingly.
Your children are a gift from God. The love and care you show them is your gift back
to God.
Fathers are challenged to give their all to their wife and family. They are called to give
their best, even when they don’t feel like it. They have to sacrifice some work time, fun
time, down time, and personal time, for the sake of their families. If you don’t spend
quality time with your family then you are abandoning them to the internet, peers, TV,
video games, and the godless materialistic culture around us that pulls us away from the
teachings of Jesus and our faith! Your absence in their lives will virtually guarantee that
your children will grow up drifting without a good foundation of faith, values, and a sense
of what is truly important in life. You should maximize every minute with your children as
opportunities to share and guide them to good decisions in life. Making a family dinner
time a priority is one way to help make this happen. Know that your children’s efforts to
get your attention are often potential cries for help. Remember to listen before lecturing.
The vocation of a father is challenging today in the midst of a culture that does not always
promote or value fidelity, sacrifice and going beyond our own selfish pursuits in life. St.
Joseph stands as that steady model and example of loving fidelity to Mary and Jesus. Let
us pray for his intercession on this day, that all our fathers will step up to the challenge of
being a loving, attentive, supportive, protecting and faithful husband and father; just like
St. Joseph! Happy Father’s Day!

Stewardship
Religious Education
Stewards Serve God
“If anyone wishes to come after me, he
must deny himself and take up his cross
daily and follow me.” Luke 9:23
We are not very good at “denying ourselves” in our society. Our current economic situation is evidence of
what happens when people think they can have
everything they want. Jesus calls us to Stewardship
where we set our own personal “wants” aside so that we
have the resources to follow Him instead.

educators of their child, the parents/guardians and
godparents have the most important influence on the
faith development of children and parishes must
provide catechesis for them before their child is

Baptism Preparation Classes throughout the year.
It is important for the expectant parents/
guardians to arrange to attend a session 5 months
before the birth and Baptism of the child. Contact
the parish offices for more information. The next
class is scheduled for Saturday, September 10,
2016, from 9:30 to 11:00 AM.

WILL
CHANGE
YOUR
LIFE
Are you looking for the quickest, surest, and easiest
way to holiness, but don’t know where to begin?
In our hectic day and time, St. John Paul II and
Blessed Mother Teresa knew that the quickest way
to be transformed was through Consecration to Jesus
through the Blessed Mother. Mary leads us straight
to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Fr. Gaitley highlights
the teaching of St. Louis de Montfort as practiced by
St. John Paul II, St Maximilian Kolbe and Blessed
Teresa of Calcutta as we prepare to consecrate ourselves to Jesus through Mary in his book “33 days to
Morning Glory”. Join others in our parish as we
begin a 33 day preparation to Total Consecration/
or Re-Consecration (for those who did it previously). We will be using the format & DVDs as
shown on the “ All Hearts Afire Parish-Based Programs for the New Evangelization” website. Check
them out at
www.MarianMorningGlory.com.
This program is simple and is for everyone!
Our journey will entail 6 weekly meetings on
Wednesday evening from 6:00-7:30 beginning July
6, 2016 with Consecration to take place on the Assumption of Mary. The book “33 Days to Morning
Glory” by Fr. Gaitley will be available for purchase
through the parish office. Please register ASAP by
calling the parish office 609-522-2709 x218 so we
can order enough books.
