Singlemode allows one radio to operate as a dedicated wireless-to-wireless bridge via WDS (Wireless Distribution System), while the other radio operates as a dedicated access point (AP) to standard 802.11b clients. Dual-mode allows each individual radio to operate both WDS and AP mode simultaneously. WDS functionality enables a low-cost backhaul solution extending networks in locations that are difficult or costly to wire. Additionally, Vivato has certified several third party high-gain and directional antennas to adapt to any deployment environment. Use VA2200 Pico-Cells to fill coverage gaps. Dual radios and WDS capability allows wireless backhaul to the VP2200 Base Station. Security Vivato products offer industry standard security on all its products. To protect the wireless network, the device offers multiple SSID/VLAN support to segregate client traffic and each SSID/VLAN supports different authentication/security models. Standard security: WEP (40and 104-bit (RC4)) encryption, 802.1x (EAP-TLS, EAP-TTLS, PEAP), and WPA (TKIP/MIC, 802.1x) are supported. Other enhanced features include ICCF (inter-client communication filtering), which prevents client-to-client traffic, and MAC address filtering, which allows administrators to deny or permit client association. Manageability The device can be easily managed remotely via VivatoVision™ WebUI or CLI through secure HTTPs or SSH connections and supports SNMP and remote and local logging. The VA2200 may also be managed locally through a DB-9 serial port. Vivato helps protect investments by offering software upgrades that keep the device up-to-date with the latest features. Powered Ethernet No additional power drops are required at each installation point; an advantage in areas with no power outlets. Reduce cost and labor by running power through the Ethernet cable to each VA2200.
