Lilypad Stella-484 Multi* 31/8 yard Backing Other Batting 56" x 68" Note: All seam allowances are 1/4". Press the seam allowances open, unless otherwise indicated. Join one unit from step 3 to each side of the D patch. Making the blocks Referring to the quilt photo for fabric combinations, and the assembly diagram for block construction, arrange 8 A, 4 B, 2 C and 1 D patch for each block. Sew the joined A patches to a B patch along one long edge to make the corner units. A B A B A A Join a corner unit to each long edge of the C patches. C D D Repeat steps 1-4 to make a total of 20 blocks. Block 1 Make 10. Block 2 Make 10. Assembly Finishing Remove the selvages, then cut the backing fabric into two equal lengths. Sew the two pieces together along one long edge, using a 1/2" seam allowance. Press the seam open. Layer the quilt back, batting and quilt top. Quilt as desired. Stitch around the outer edge of the quilt, a scant 1/4" from the edge of the quilt top. Use your favorite method to bind the quilt. 1 2 1 2 Referring to the assembly diagram, arrange the blocks into 5 rows of 4 blocks each. 2 1 2 1 Join the blocks in each row along adjacent edges. Press the seams in alternate directions from row to row. Sew the rows together.
