FROM THE PRESIDENT:
the rain, had many
participants. Several
things are now going
on behind the scene
that will be divulged
later.
Welcome to 201 O! It
seems like the year
2000, with the fear of
Y2K, was only yesterday. My, how time
passes us by. The
year 2009 was a very
successful year and
many things were
accomplished by the
Chamber Board. Our
first Main Street Yard
Sale was a great
success. The Christmas Parade, despite
We would like to
thank everyone who
participated to make
it a good year.
Linda, Jeremy, volunteers and the Chamber Board worked
very hard. We give
extra thanks to our
Chamber members
for their support. We
could not exist without you. We would
also like to thank the
City Council, Mayor,
Chickasaw County
Board of Supervisors
and the Okolona
Electric Department
for their program
funding and hard
work. We sincerely
appreciate each of
you.
Our 2010 committees
have been formed
and we are looking
forward to a very
active year. Our
Program of Work will
be finalized during
our February meeting. With everyone's
help as volunteers
and your suggestions, we can make
2010 the best year
ever!

2010 OACC Annual Chamber
Banquet
There are three organizations under the ODFC
They are the Chandler Home, The Friends of the
Battle of Okolona and the Memorial Stadium.
Each of these organizations have money that they
have deposited in the ODFC account located at
CREATE, Inc. in Tupelo. The Friends of the Battle of Okolona is accepting membership dues at
this time. Patsy Gregory, Andy Anderson and
Larry Butler are the officers of this organization.
Brandon Beck recently wrote a book entitled
"The Battle of Okolona" and he had a book signing at the Carnegie Library. Projects are underway for cleaning up the battlefield and making it
more accessible. No plans are underway for the
Chandler Home or the Memorial Stadium. If you
have ideas for these groups, please contact our
office and share!
Each year the Chamber office is required by
the By-Laws to have an annual meeting for the
members of the Chamber. Included in this meeting, is an awards banquet and teacher awards
from the Okolona Superintendent's office. We try
very hard to supply our members with the best
possible dinner and entertainment in this area,
including trying to keep the price for the ticket to
a bare minimal. If you know of someone that you
would enjoy hearing as the guest speaker or a
special someone to bring entertainment to our
annual banquet, please call our office and make
the suggestion. As the interim director, it is my
goal to accommodate everyone to the best of my
ability. Get involved in this years' banquet and it
will be a huge success!!

Well, it's that time of the year again!
Plans are being made for our 20 1a

for the banquet tentatively for March
11th. We are searching for a very competent catering service. Some of the
requirement will be to be a member of

support us. Our banquet is accustomed
to linen table cloths and napkins, glassware, silverware and real plates. The
catering service should be equipped
with warmers for the food and clean up
service. Most importantly, food must be
fantastic. We will need three price
OFFICE ASSISTANT-
Jeremy Stanfield came to the
Chamber office through a
grant program offered by
Excel and Three Rivers. Last
year, he volunteered about 9
months of his time at the
Electric Department and City
Hall. He is currently employed by Subway and is the
owner of his own cleaning
service. Jeremy has enrolled
at ICC in Tupelo for night
classes. He definitely is not
allowing any grass to grow
under his feet. He is a sharp
dresser and is very eager to
learn more about Okolona
and has a huge heart for
volunteering. Come by the
office and meet this young
man.
