Each of these organizations have money that they have deposited in the ODFC account located at CREATE, Inc. in Tupelo. The Friends of the Battle of Okolona is accepting membership dues at this time. Patsy Gregory, Andy Anderson and Larry Butler are the officers of this organization. Brandon Beck recently wrote a book entitled "The Battle of Okolona" and he had a book signing at the Carnegie Library. Projects are underway for cleaning up the battlefield and making it more accessible. No plans are underway for the Chandler Home or the Memorial Stadium. If you have ideas for these groups, please contact our office and share! Each year the Chamber office is required by the By-Laws to have an annual meeting for the members of the Chamber. Included in this meeting, is an awards banquet and teacher awards from the Okolona Superintendent's office. We try very hard to supply our members with the best possible dinner and entertainment in this area, including trying to keep the price for the ticket to a bare minimal. If you know of someone that you would enjoy hearing as the guest speaker or a special someone to bring entertainment to our annual banquet, please call our office and make the suggestion. As the interim director, it is my goal to accommodate everyone to the best of my ability. Get involved in this years' banquet and it will be a huge success!!
