THE ULTIMATE TILE BACKER BOARD
No More Ply is a cement-based board which provides a perfect
surface to tile onto, whilst avoiding the risks associated with
tiling onto plywood and plasterboard.
6mm No More Ply:
Used for overboarding wooden or concrete floors instead of
plywood, which is vulnerable to moisture.
Provides a movement-free surface - no risk of cracked tiles.
Raises levels by only 6mm, instead of using 18mm plywood.
BBA approved & guaranteed for 25 years.
Can also be used to overboard solid walls.
9mm and 12mm No More Ply:
Used for boarding vertical studs before tiling, avoiding tiling
onto plasterboard which weakens when it gets damp.
Quick and easy to fix.
Extremely strong - ideal for heavy tiles.
Fits flush with any surrounding plasterboard.

NO MORE PLY is easy to
1
OVERBOARDING
TIMBER FLOORS
a) Remove all old existing floor coverings.
Screw floorboards (timber or chipboard)
down firmly and sweep clean. You are
ready for the 6mm NO MORE PLY boards.
b) Run two small beads of Mega Strength
Adhesive on the back of NO MORE
PLY. Lay in position and screw down
using 25mm NO MORE PLY screws.
Screws must be inserted with a cordless
screwdriver and eight screws per sheet
is usually sufficient. Always stagger
joints.
Only use Mega Strength and Screws (or flexible tile
adhesive) to fix No More Ply.
10
fix. Heres how...
c) Run a small bead of Mega Strength
Adhesive on the edge of the laid boards
and lay the next board down fixing again
with 25mm NO MORE PLY screws. This
method seals and reinforces the joints.
WARNING: Mega Strength Polyurethane Adhesive is
an amazingly strong waterproof glue. Always wear
gloves and wipe off excess glue with an old cloth. Use
solvent in case of spillage.
d) For straight cuts score with the NO
MORE PLY Scoring Knife and snap. For
curves and shapes use a jigsaw. You can
also use tile nippers to cut around pipes.
e) When the floor is complete, sweep
clean and you are ready for tiling. Wipe
the surface of NO MORE PLY with a
damp sponge just prior to spreading the
tile adhesive. Priming the boards will
improve adhesion. If undertile heating
is being used, always prime with 1
part SBR to 3 parts water on both sides
before laying undertile heating and tiles
- this helps reflect heat.
11
2
OVERBOARDING
CONCRETE FLOORS
a) 6mm NO MORE PLY is ideal for covering
dirty, cracked, worn out concrete floors.
Always remove loose material, clean
thoroughly and prime with one coat
of SBR primer (1 part SBR to 3 parts
water) before laying NO MORE PLY.
b) Make sure the floor is clean and free
from all loose material. Boards must
be primed both sides with one coat
of SBR primer (1 part SBR to 3 parts
water) before laying. For best results
lay NO MORE PLY on single part flexible
rapid set adhesive ensuring joints are
staggered.
8
12
c) For straight cuts, score and snap with a
NO MORE PLY scoring knife. For curves
and shapes use a jigsaw. You can also
use tile nippers to cut around pipes.
d) When the floor is covered with NO
MORE PLY, allow adhesive to set – see
adhesive manufacturer’s instructions on
setting time. When adhesive is set you
can commence tiling.
HOW MANY SCREWS WILL I NEED?
50 Is enough to do 6 boards
200 Is enough to do 25 boards

BOARDING
SOLID WALLS
NO MORE PLY is an excellent tile backer board for walls. It should always be
used in bathrooms to give a superbly flat, water resistant surface to tile onto.
FIXING NO MORE PLY TO SOLID WALLS
6mm boards can be dot & dab fixed onto good flat solid walls instead of plaster
or plasterboard. Where the walls are not totally flat use 9mm NO MORE PLY or
12mm NO MORE PLY instead. Virtually any surface can be quickly covered and
ready for tiling within hours.
a) Prime the wall with 1 coat of
SBR primer (1 part SBR to 3 parts
water)
b) Simply dot and dab single part
flexible tile adhesive onto the boards.
10
14
c) Apply boards directly to the wall
keeping them level, plumb and
flat. Run a bead of Mega Strength
Adhesive on the joint before laying
the next board.
d) Stagger joints where possible. Once the
adhesive has set give the boards a quick
coat of SBR primer (1 part SBR to 3
parts water). You are now ready to tile.
WHAT SIZE TILES CAN NO MORE PLY HOLD?
NO MORE PLY when fixed properly will hold the
largest tiles. Approx. 65kg per sq.m is no problem.
15
4
BOARDING
STUD WALLS
For stud walls (timber or metal) that are to be tiled and the tiling wants to stay
looking good for years and years, there is no option, only use NO MORE PLY.
a) Screw the 12mm (or 9mm) NO MORE
PLY to stud work using approx. 6
screws per board. A small bead of
Mega on the studs will always give
extra strength and help combat
movement that may occur due to
timber shrinkage.
Studs to be max 600mm centres.
b) Always run a bead of Mega Strength on
all vertical and horizontal joints before
fixing the next board. This reinforces the
joint and gives a permanent watertight
seal, eliminating the need of taping the
joints which is very time consuming.
16
c) Stagger joints where possible. Once wall
is completely boarded give the boards
a quick coat of SBR primer (one part
SBR to three parts water). You are now
ready to tile.
HOW MANY BOARDS WILL I NEED?
6mm boards are 1200 x 600mm = 0.72m2
9mm boards are 1200 x 900mm = 1.08m2
12mm boards are 1200 x 800mm = 0.96m2

For wet rooms, always lay NO MORE PLY boards on the floor before overboarding the
walls. Waterproof all joints with Mega Strength Polyurethane Adhesive. To make NO
MORE PLY boards completely waterproof, coat the completed NO MORE PLY surface
with two coats of SBR primer (one part SBR to three parts water).
Use in conjunction with Kaskade - the ultra slim walk-in shower tray - for a true ‘no
step’ wet room effect. This new water resistant shower tray fits completely flush
when fitted adjacent to NO MORE PLY tile backer board and comes complete with a
central trap and provides an ideal surface to tile straight onto.
