“Return on Investment” is a
phrase most frequently associated
with personal investing or corporate success. Reflecting the payback from expenditures that are
intended to improve the amount
of money made, a positive return
on investment means that the
equipment, employees and other
resources make an even greater
positive impact on a company’s
bottom line.

the Library Board is anticipating
increased use by Geauga County
residents.
I am extremely pleased that the
Geauga County Public Library’s
“Return on Investment” value is
2.78. This means that in 2013,
for every dollar spent on library
service, $2.78 in services was
provided. It just
gets better, however, because
the investments
that are made in
any one year are

The Ohio Library Council has
developed a program for
measuring the
“Return on
Investment”
for local public
libraries. The
investment
side of the
equation is
determined
by adding all
of the funds,
mostly provided
by taxpayers,
that go into

When your female
ancestor married, she
became Mrs. John Doe,
losing both her first and
last names. U.S. Census
Records before 1850
give her a hash mark for
her age, but no name, unless she
was the head of household. She
remained anonymous in many
other records. How then do you
find her? Come and learn some
tips. Laptops will be used for an
extended genealogist-assisted
research time.
