Notice: Publication of these Notices is on the basis that a Litter Notification has been received by the New Zealand Kennel
Club at the closing date of this column, usually the 1st of the month preceding publication. Publication in this magazine
is no guarantee that the dog can or will be registered with the New Zealand Kennel club. Registration is a separate
procedure and will not necessarily be completed at the date of sale of a puppy. Purchasers of dogs should obtain a written
undertaking from breeders that the puppy being purchased is or will be registered with the New Zealand Kennel club
and will be transferred by the breeder into the name of the purchaser within fourteen days of the date of purchase.

RESULTS
The following is a list of dogs which have been examined
under the Australian Canine HD Scoring Scheme, NZ
Veterinary Association HD & ED Schemes, BVA Scheme or
the Murdoch University (WA) Scheme. The owners of these
dogs are authorised to claim in advertisements that the dogs
have been examined under the rules of these schemes and
have obtained the scores printed below. Members wishing
the results of x-rays to be published in the NZ Kennel Gazette
should forward a copy to NZKC with a written request for
publication. No fee is payable.
Notes (Hips):
(1) The first figure is the score for the right hip, the second
for the left hip and the third is the total score.
(2) The lower the score the less degree of Hip Dysplasia.
(3) A total score of 4 or less with not more than 3 on
one hip may be regarded as the equivalent to the former
Certificate A.
(4) Total score of 8 or less with not more than 6 on one hip
may be regarded as the equivalent of the former ‘Breeders
Letter’ category.
(5) Total score maximum possible - 106.

A Club’s show date is not listed until a licence has been granted by the New Zealand Kennel Club. If a show date for a Club does not appear or is incorrect the
Secretary of the Club should contact the New Zealand Kennel Club urgently. Associated Show Clubs must make specific application for a licence for every
Championship show date on the form available from New Zealand Kennel Club offices or website. These can be applied for up to two years in advance. Try

2. In consideration of the Publisher accepting an advertisement for publication the
Advertiser hereby agrees to indemnify the Publisher against all and any losses,
costs, demands, claims, damages, expenses, proceedings and legal costs arising
directly or indirectly out of:
(a) a breach of the terms of clause 1 above;
(b) the Publisher having to correct, alter, amend, or otherwise change any
advertisement to conform to style or for any other good or sufficient reason
where such correction, alteration, amendment or change has been carried
out with reasonable care and skill; or
(c) any delay in publication or cancellation of the advertisement arising out of
any act or omission of the Advertiser or any act or omission of the Publisher
in exercising its right to correct, alter, amend or change an advertisement.
3. The Publisher may refuse to publish or may reject or withdraw an advertisement
from publication without any reason being given to the Advertiser.
4. The Advertiser hereby undertakes to advise the Publisher immediately of any
error appearing in any advertisement placed by that Advertiser. The publisher
will then give consideration to an adjustment in respect of the first incorrect
insertion of the advertisement.
5. In the event of a delay or failure to advise the Publisher, without limiting the
remedies of the Advertiser, may publish the advertisement on the first subsequent
reasonable date available unless the advertisement features a date or event
that is affected by the delay or failure.
6. To cancel an advertisement the Advertiser must notify the Publisher and obtain
cancellation approval.
7. The charge for an advertisement shall be in accordance with the rate card current
at the date of publication, unless agreed otherwise in writing.
8. If payment of the account for publishing the advertisement is not made by the
due date the Advertiser may be liable for all costs of recovery and collection
fees.
9. Cancellations will not be accepted after the nominated booking deadline.
10. Advertisements submitted for publication may also be reproduced in other manner
without regard to form or location.
Kennel Names
Registration Regulations now require all
new Kennel names granted to be listed
in the New Zealand Kennel Gazette.
Members have the right to object to any
name granted up till the end of the month
of publication. If an objection is found to
be justified the new name will be cancelled
and an alternative issued. Once the time for
objections has expired and no objections
are received the name is automatically
confirmed.
Any objection must be in writing stating
the reasons and received by the Director/
Secretary on or before the last day of the
month.

Alteration to Rules
Any alteration to the rules of a member society
require the prior approval of NZKC unless that
alteration amends the annual subscription of
that society and nothing else.
Annual Reports and Balance Sheets
Each Affiliated and Associated Society, Associated Special Breed Club, Recognised
Club and Obedience Society is reminded of
the requirement to forward annually to NZKC
the following:
(a) The names and addresses of its President
and Secretary.
(b) A copy of its Annual Report, a Statement of
Receipts and Expenditure, an audited Balance
Sheet. (NZKC Rule 8(b) refers)
Applications by Member Societies
Club secretaries are advised that when a
member society is applying for recognition,
association, a first ever Open or Championship
Show or any other amendment to its terms of
recognition, association or affiliation, under the
authority of NZKC Rules, the Executive Council requires the information as follows before
such an Application will be considered.
(a) Names of all club officers.
(b) Number of current financial members.
(c) A current financial statement.
(d) Details of all Shows and functions held
during the previous 12 months giving details
of date, venue, type of show, judges name(s),
numbers of entries and any other relevant
information.
(e) Full submissions on any other matters
relevant.
All applications of this nature should be in the
hands of the Director/Secretary, 14 days before
the date of the Executive Council meeting at
which they are to be considered.
A Club must be an Incorporated Society
before it can become any level of member
of the NZKC.
Correspondence
All correspondence with the NZKC must be
addressed to the Director/Secretary, NZKC,
Private Bag 50903, Porirua 6220.
No item shall be considered by the Executive
Council unless so addressed.
No guarantee can be given that any item or
application received less than 14 days prior to
any meeting of the Executive Council will be
placed on the agenda for consideration.
Definition of“NZKC Registered Dog”
Any NZKC member using the words “papers”
or “pedigree” or any other similar phraseology in advertisements, contracts of sale, or
in any other manner in respect of the sale or
any other transaction concerning any dog or
bitch, will be deemed to be referring to a dog
or bitch registered with the NZKC with all the
obligations thereby entailed.
Entry Forms
Exhibitors notice is drawn to the wording which
appears on the entry forms as follows: ‘I/We
hereby certify that I/We are currently financial
members(s) of NZKC.’
NZKC staff will be undertaking random checks
of show entries to ensure that entries are made
by current financial members of NZKC.
Attention of all exhibitors is drawn to NZKC
Rule 4 and the requirements outlined in that
Rule.

Official Entry Form service. The entry forms,

Photocopied Entry Forms
The use of photocopied entry forms is a
breach of both Show Regulation 12(e) and
Copyright law.
Show Secretaries have every right to refuse to
accept any entry received on a photo-copied
form.
Entry forms are available on request from
NZKC at $5.00 for a packet of 50.
Personalised entry forms can also be purchased at $15.00 for a packet of 50 (see
separate notice).
Facsimiles (Faxes)
Faxes are not acceptable for ANY transaction
associated with the Registry (Registration
Regulation 2(e)). All material sent by fax must
be followed by the original copy. No action
will be taken on faxes until the required fees
are received. All inquiries made by fax will be
treated as incoming mail and will be answered
by mail in the normal manner. Fax number

First Aid Kits
All Clubs should be equipped with a basic First
Aid Kit which is taken to all shows.

39(C). Applications should be in writing and
be accompanied by the qualifying certificates
which should list the Best in Show awards
(club, date, and judge) or placings and points

Judges Contracts
All judges on NZKC Official Judges Panel are
reminded that whenever a judge is invited to
judge overseas they must inform the Director/Secretary after the contract has been completed and report particulars of the numbers
and breeds of dogs judged.
Judges Regulations Record Cards
Judges Regulations require you to keep a
record of your judging appointments, credits
obtained for promotion and in certain circumstances stewarding appointments. NZKC
Judging Record Cards, Stewarding Record
Cards and Credit Record cards are available
from NZKC at $1.50 each (includes GST,
packaging and postage).
Litter Notifications, see Privacy Act
Loan of Bitch
Loan of Bitches will be recognised by NZKC
only if:
1. Notice of the agreement is on NZKC form,
to be completed in triplicate and signed by all
parties to the agreement.
2. The agreement is for a period of not less
than six months or more than 18 months.
3. The agreement is registered at NZKC within
three months of completion.
A Loan of Bitch agreement can be renewed
upon expiry by the completion and registration
of a new Notice of Agreement form.
Note: The current form (issued February 1987)
must be completed in triplicate and all copies
lodged with NZKC. Applications not complying
will be subject to rejection.

Scheme
Members wishing the results of x-rays to be
published in the NZ Kennel Gazette should
forward a copy to NZKC with a written request
for publication. No fee is payable.
NZKC Mediators
Rule 35G establishes a system of mediators
as a service for NZKC mediators. Mediation
can arise in two ways.
1. A complaint can be referred to mediation either by NZKC or at the request of the
parties.
2. Two members (either individual or member
societies), in dispute can request mediation.
Mediation can cover such topics as breaches
of rules and regulations not of a serious nature,
interpretation of club rules and regulations
and disputes between members outside the
normal jurisdiction of NZKC (eg contractural
disputes).
Mediators powers are restricted to attempting
to reach voluntary agreement on the dispute
or to identifying the actual matters in dispute.
Mediators have no power in making a decision
although they can suggest a solution.
Application for mediation is to be made in writing to NZKC. In the case of a dispute between
two members outside the authority of NZKC
Rules and Regulations the application must
be signed by both applicants.

Members are advised that cash should not
be posted to NZKC for any service. All payments should be by cheque or money order.

Payment of Schedules
All show schedules are to be PREPAID. Any
schedules not paid in full by publication date
will incur a late payment fee.
Privacy Act
1. The information contained on the NZKC
membership rolls is a public register and
is available for searching by any person
for any valid purpose pursuant to NZKC
Rules upon payment of the appropriate
search fee.
2. The NZKC membership files may be used
for commercial purposes other than that
for which it was obtained. If you do NOT
wish this information to be so used you
must advise the New Zealand Kennel Club
in writing.
3. The NZKC Register is a public register
& the information contained is available
upon payment of the appropriate search
fee. Information contained in the Litter
Notification form is divulged to persons
requesting information on puppies unless
we are advised on the Litter Notification
form that this is NOT to be done.

Subscription Renewals
As your renewals fall due, the following will
apply:Approximately 6 weeks before the due date,
you will receive an account. If payment has
NOT been received at the NZKC by the due
date, you will receive a reminder. This will
be approximately 14 days before due date.
No further reminders will be sent and if the
account remains UNPAID 2 months after
due date, your membership will lapse and
you will cease to receive your New Zealand
Kennel Gazette.
Vale Column
Members wishing to record the death of a loved
pet or show dog may take advantage of this
service. Up to 20 words will be published free
of charge. Longer messages or photographs
attract advertising rates. Normal publishing
deadlines apply.
