Welcome to the
Southbank Bristol
Arts Trail 2016.
This year we have over 150 artists, makers and
performers in over 60 venues for you to enjoy.
In the spirit of the trail, over 40 private houses are to serve as temporary
galleries and performance spaces. You’ll also find hubs of artists at the
Southville Centre, Tobacco Factory, The Southbank Club, Grant Bradley Gallery,
St Francis’ Church and St Aldhelms Church as well as along the streets of
Southville- but do venture further afield as well to discover hidden gems and
special places. You’ll find a warm welcome in all venues.
New to the trail this year is a dedicated performance venue – hosted by the
acta community theatre on Gladstone Street. The two-day programme of free
entertainment includes theatre from Brave Bold Drama and Happy Accident
Productions, jazz classics from the Sister’s of Swing, man-singing from the
Bristol Man Chorus, poetry, story-telling and African drumming, plus the
Theatre Bar’s Pot-Luck Pop-Up Performance Place.
There are workshops for children and adults as well as other events sprinkled
liberally throughout the trail- you’ll find a list at the front of the brochure.
Thanks for supporting local arts and we hope you enjoy your weekend.

A massive thank you to the Arts Trail
volunteers without whom it wouldn’t exist!
The more volunteers we have, the lighter
the work and the better the trail. It’s also
a great way to be a part of the creative
community south of the river. If you’re
interested in helping out for the next trail,
in any capacity, large or small, or just
interested in how it all works then you can:

This year the Trail brochure
has been partly funded by these
fabulous local businesses.
Help us say `thank you´ by visiting
them and sampling their wares.
