Our creative classes and workshops Come and join our creative classes here at The Marlowe. Our regular workshops in acting, writing and dance are for all ages and aim to help the participants learn skills, build confidence, and enjoy themselves! The Marlowe Dance Company (10–20yrs) Developed from our work with Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures, these classes offer opportunities to develop dance skills and perform on The Marlowe’s stages. The Marlowe Playwrights (16yrs+) Details: Thursdays 5pm–6.30pm (10–14yrs) & 6.45pm–8.15pm (15–20yrs). Sessions cost £59 for a 10 week term, and take place at Anselm Studio at Canterbury Christ Church University . Led by our Literary Associate. Sessions for writers to explore different styles of theatre through creative scriptwriting. Share and develop your own writing style, receive constructive feedback from established writers and hear your work spoken out loud. The Marlowe Access Company (16yrs+) Our new term of workshops will begin week commencing Monday 19 September. Classes take place in The Marlowe Lab on Pound Lane, unless stated otherwise. The Marlowe Youth Theatre (8–21yrs) The Marlowe Access Company (MAC), run in partnership with Canterbury Community Day Services and Confidance, is for people with learning disabilities. These sessions explore different styles of acting techniques, both classic and contemporary, and are suitable for all levels of experience. The term culminates in a performance in The Marlowe Studio. The Marlowe Youth Theatre will give your child a chance to express themselves, increase confidence and learn new theatre skills through professional actor training – in a fun environment. Details: Wednesdays 7pm–9pm. Sessions cost £96 for a 15 week semester (including one theatre trip). Participants will also have the chance to take part in performances to showcase their new skills.
