With the bat best in finals player Jackie worked hard for 23 runs and Stevo worked hard for his ten but that was it. We didn't handle the low bounce and failed to protect our stumps. We didn't bowl for long enough but our openers Will and Plumby did bowl well. To think at this time last year we looked as if we would not have a side yet we went up a grade and played IN A PRE LIM. It was great effort Well done to Vladimir Lazy and the off field work of Sam and Sheree. Congratulations Guys on a great Season! OAKERS OBSERVER Oak Park Community Sporting Association Combining Junior and Senior Football, Cricket and Darts Clubs NEWSLETTER 06 17 March 2016 EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST!!! For quite some time now members of the Association have been planning to band together a legitimate fishing club. With consultation with the committee and with 20-30 keen anglers the conception of the Oak Park Angling Club (OPAC) has evolved. Annual membership would include: Social membership of the Oak Park Community Sports Association Members merchandise( fishing shirt, bucket hat, stubby holder) First Wednesday of the month at the club to discuss fishing trips and update notice board. 3 social days at the club including the sale of discount tackle and general fishing activities from our sponsors and local tackle stores. Access to fishing reports on our Facebook page, weekly newsletter and webpage Monthly prize benefits for best catch Club records printed on honour board Club events e.g. Lake Eildon-Trout, Port Phillip Bay-Snapper, Portland-Tuna Chance to represent OPAC in legitimate Tournaments To make a start we need membership numbers confirmed to incorporate OPAC with the OPCSA. There are many government grants which we would apply for and get the kitty going to pay for future fishing trips, merchandise etc. The amount of members interested would impact the founding membership amount. Please contact either Michael Peart on 0423 365 635, Bryce Crosswell on 0431 234 006 or Nick Rudewych on 0434 003 929 to confirm your interest or for further details or send an email to [email protected] OAKERS OBSERVER Oak Park Community Sporting Association NEWSLETTER 06 Combining Junior and Senior Football, Cricket and Darts Clubs 17 March 2016 Date Event Date Event 18 Mar 2016 2016 Annual Pennay Townsend Cup Place: The Northern Golf Club Time: Registration at 7:30am, Shotgun start at 8:00am Cost: $140 Contact: Jason Marston – 0403 344 444, [email protected] 04 Jun 2016 $5000 Draw Place: JP Fawkner Reserve Time: TBA Contact: Ben Turner – 0413 009 836 18 Jun 2016 Mid-Year Ball Place: TBA Time: TBA Cost: $110 early bird before 01 May 2016 or $120 from 01 May 2016 Contact: Amanda Fitches – 0413 009 836 25 Jun 2016 Past Players Luncheon Place: JP Fawkner Reserve Time: TBA Cost: TBA Contact: Craig Cox – 0418 528 133 24 Mar 2016 Junior Cricket Presentation Place: JP Fawkner Reserve Time: 6:00pm Contact: Sheree – 0401 278 312 02 Apr 2016 Senior Cricket Presentation Place: JP Fawkner Reserve Time: 5:30pm for 6:30pm dinner Cost: $35 single, $60 double Contact: Sheree – 0401 278 312 For any questions about upcoming social events please email at [email protected] OAKERS OBSERVER Oak Park Community Sporting Association NEWSLETTER 06 Combining Junior and Senior Football, Cricket and Darts Clubs OPCSA SOCIAL MEMBERSHIP Are you a Financial Member?
