With a committed focus on promoting the Indian Digital Textile Printing Industry, Digitex will serve as an innovative platform for

India is the second largest producer of garments and textiles in the world. It is one of the oldest and largest manufacturing sectors in
the country. It has a strong production base of a wide range of fibers/yarns from natural fibers like cotton, jute, silk and wool to
synthetic/man-made fibers like polyester, viscose, nylon and acrylic. Only a part of the industry is organized. The spectrum of
technology is wide spread right from handmade to semi mechanical & mechanical and highly sophisticated information-based
technology and microprocessor-based technology.

The Fabrics Show is being launched to cater to the sourcing and business networking needs of the manufactures to source the best
and the latest fabric trends and accessories.
India is the second largest producer of cotton in the world. Cotton, a key raw material in the textile and garment industry, accounts for
about 30% of the fabric cost and 13% of the garment cost. This lends India a cost advantage in the home textile and apparels segments.
India is one among a few countries that have a presence of entrepreneur units within the country across the entire value chain in textile
and clothing business starting from fiber production, spinning, weaving/ knitting, processing to garment manufacturing.
The two-fold increase in global textile trade is also likely to drive India's exports growth. The Indian government has come up with a
number of export promotion policies for the textiles sector. It has also allowed 100 per cent FDI in the Indian textiles sector under the
automatic route.
