Cover canvasses in HUE. Paint around the
edges of each canvas, allowing paint to
brush over onto the front. Paint also the
chipboard letters.
Position template over lower half of first
canvas and spread Light Modelling Paste
over it. Try to ensure there are no defined
edges to the finished images; the aim is
for a rough “splodgy” effect. Carefully
remove template and while paste is still
wet liberally sprinkle Black Flakes over the
top. Gently tap off excess and allow to dry.
Once dry, use a paintbrush to brush away
any remaining flakes from design. Repeat
this process on the remaining canvasses,
positioning design on the upper half of
second canvas and on the lower half of
the third.

When all paper from all strips has been
removed and strips are dry, paint more
varnish over the section of canvas where
you wish the journaling to be. Position
text strips as desired, pressing down into
the wet varnish to adhere. When in place,
paint varnish over the top to seal.
To complete, glue painted letters on
canvasses.
This transfer technique also works with
photographs! Cover canvas in RESTORE
then simply print your photo onto normal
computer paper then follow steps 4-6 as
listed at left. Example here is A4 size, to
cover canvas completely.
Brush a small amount of glue over
sections of painted letters. Sprinkle more
flakes over letters, allow to dry and brush
away excess.
Print journaling onto A4 paper. (A laser
printer works best). Paint a thin layer
of Polymer Gloss Varnish over text and
allow to dry (approx. 1-2 hours). Once dry,
repeat this process twice more, allowing
second coat to dry before applying the
third.
Cut journaling into strips and submerge
strips in water. Gently rub at the paper
until it disintegrates and comes away from
the dried varnish. Your text should now be
adhered to the strip of clear dried varnish.
Remove from water and pat dry.
