Terry Oleson, Ph.D. presents
Essentials of
Auriculotherapy
While the majority of acupuncture and East Asian
medicine practitioners in the United States have
favored body acu-point treatment techniques,
there is an increasing focus on the therapeutic
effectiveness of utilizing ear reflex points. Many
individuals are surprised to learn that
auriculotherapy can not only be just as clinically
effective as body acupuncture and/or acupressure,
but also can relieve pain and tension much more
rapidly than stimulation of the classical
acupuncture meridians.
Dr. Oleson combines dynamic lectures with
practical hands-on experience. In this two-day
seminar he presents important clinical procedures
utilizing ear reflex points for the alleviation of
pain, addiction, and stress-related disorders.
Needles and/or seeds can be utilized.
This seminar provides acupuncturists and Asian
Bodywork Therapists with training in extremely
effective clinical knowledge, enabling them to
treat specific ear reflex points useful in relieving
pain conditions, addictions, and stress-related
disorders. Practical application of auricular
diagnostic procedures used to discover the most
relevant ear points for clinical treatment are
comprehensively explored in this workshop,
allowing attendees to learn the most effective
Chinese and European ear points for successfully
treating a variety of medical problems.
Participants are provided fundamental knowledge
of the somatotopic correspondence of the
physical body to the inverted fetus pattern
represented on the external ear. The historical,
theoretical, and anatomical point location of
Chinese and European systems of auriculotherapy
are presented. Specific auricular treatment plans
for the relief of visceral, musculoskeletal, and neuropathic pain are described. Both didactic presentations
and hands-on training facilitate a deeper understanding of the auriculotherapy practices that allow optimal
integration of the microsystem of the ear with the
macrosystem of the body.
Attendance at the seminar assists practitioners in
preparing for the Auriculotherapy Certification
International (ACI) written and practicum exam,
given Sunday evening after class. For further information about the requirements and registration for
taking the exam, go to www.auriculotherapy.com.
