All products in the range are compatible and clean up with mild soap and cool water. Artists’ Colours Created from the finest quality pigments, Jo Sonja’s Artists’ Colours are water-resistant and conform to ASTM lightfast standards to ensure they will not fade over time. They have superb handling and brushing characteristics, will not chip or crack and dry to a velvet matte finish. Also available in specialty sets (see page 37). Transparent colours to provide overall iridescent effects and touches of shimmering colour. These lightfast, permanent pigments may be used full strength or thinned for transparency by using Magic Mix or Retarder. Wood Stain Glazes These waterbased transparent wood stains are formulated with a gel consistency for ease of application. May be used for staining, antiquing and Faux Finishes. May be used alone or mixed with paint to provide a onestep preparation to seal any surface. A light sealer for surface preparation or for application between layers as a barrier coat during painting. Can also be used as a medium for glazing and floating colour. Crackle pattern will vary depending on the thickness of the uncured base colour and application of the Crackle Medium. Also suitable as a light sealer. Delays the drying time of paint without thinning it, allowing for the blendability of oils with the ease of acrylics. A clear gel containing tiny lightreflecting, holographic particles which create an interplay of colours reminiscent of Australia’s rare gems. Tannin Sealer A sealer to prevent pitch around knots or uncured wood from coming to the surface. May also be used as an adhesive in gold leafing techniques.
