I-BRITE Eye Whitening:
It’s Not What You Think
I’VE BEEN WORKING ON A PROCEDURE for the past 13 years to remove
the bloodshot appearance of eyes, yellowing and brown pigmented
spots on the whites of the eyes. Within the last year the process has
been named I-Brite. To many, making the eyes whiter may simply
seem like a cosmetic procedure. The opposite could not be more true.
Unbeknownst to those without the condition, people who live for many
years with discolored
whites of the eyes have
the emotional effect of a
more traditional ‘disfigurement’, such as missing Before I-BRITE Eye Whitening.

people with chronic

eye discolorations) are

asked questions like, “Are you tired? You look like you didn’t get a good
sleep?” or even “Are you doing drugs or smoking pot?”
Even if others don’t ask, the non-verbals are there when people
take a closer look at the eyes and likely view them differently or with
suspicion. After many years self-esteem and self-confidence can be
eroded in some patients. Moreover, doctors simply dismiss patients’
concern with “nothing can be done—you just have to live with it.”
I-Brite is having the same type of life-changing impact as procedures such as LASIK, Visian ICL, C3-R, Intacs, and Cataract Natural
Lens Replacement. In other words, it’s not strictly about cosmetics;
it’s really about removing a long-standing stigma that is freeing and
boosting to confidence and esteem. More detailed information can be
found at www.boxerwachler.com/whiteeyes.

Keep your cell phone as far as possible from
your body. It’s safer to use your ear bud,

distance is between your body and the phone
unit, the safer you are from possible EMF damage.
Use your cell phone in open areas where you’re not
close to others and can inadvertently expose others

Keep your cell phone as far away from your body as possible at all times. In your

When you are carrying your cell phone, keep the back part where the battery is
away from your body, with the keypad side facing your body.
Be brief on your cell phone; the longer you’re talking, the more you’re exposed to
possibly dangerous EM fields.
When you’re talking on your cell phone, switch ears regularly so that you don’t
concentrate the exposure in one area.
Try to use your cell phone only when your signal is strong.
Text messaging is safer than talking on the phone; opt for that whenever possible.

At the American Academy of Ophthalmology in San Francisco in October, I was warm! The weather there is often opposite
to what you’d expect in that city. Mark Twain once remarked, “The coldest Winter I ever spent was the Summer in San
Francisco!” At this conference, I presented research on C3-R (transepithelial collagen crosslinking) for Keratoconus.
Specifically, we reported safety data. We have never had any adverse side effects aside from temporary scratchiness.
Re-treatment data was also presented after 4 years which found that only 1% of patients required a second C3-R treatment
which is the same retreatment rate as the more invasive epi-off crosslinking technique. All of our presentations are now posted
on our site www.keratoconusinserts.com/research. For those who wish to learn more about reasons the epithelium does not
need to be removed, please see www.keratoconusinserts.com/crosslinking.
As mentioned earlier, NBC Nightly News covered Olympian Steve Holcomb’s journey of overcoming Keratoconus to become
a world champion. I-Brite™ Eye Whitening was featured on Dr. Phil’s The Doctors and CBS News—both
news segements can now be viewed by searching the term I-Brite on www.YouTube.com. I-Brite was
also covered by a number of other shows and news stations which will air shortly.
In the radio world, Dr. Bruce Hensel kindly invited me to be on his radio show to speak about LASIK vision
correction. The Mancow Radio show interviewed me about a variety of topics: Steve Holcomb's story about
Keratoconus and the upcoming Olympics, LASIK, and restoring vision to those who are blind; we were also
supposed to talk about stem cells for macular degeneration but ran out of time. The next newsletter will give you an
update about this promising stem cell research for macular degeneration which is just starting in the United States.
I was really touched when a colleague of mine dedicated his new book Color Atlas of Ophthalmology to me. I really
don’t think of myself as being of the type (or of the age) to have such things dedicated on my behalf, but it gave
me pause to realize that my work and research over my career thus far has had some effect on others. I suppose you
never know how you and when you will have an impact on others.
