attraction of each Vortex Splashpad®. We offer this most important success factor for your
project, based on 15 years experience in aquatic design and planning. Our Splashpad®
solutions are a comprehensive, yet cost-effective way to add value to city parks, to
campgrounds, to housing developments, to hotels and resorts. Splashpads® provide a
destination in which families can gather, socialize, and enjoy a cross-generational
play experience.
Our interdisciplinary teams develop Vortex solutions with distinctive appeal, made

Vortex has always been proactive in anticipating needs and creating new trends in
aquatic play. We introduced the innovative Safeswap™ anchoring system to provide
never-before-seen flexibility and expandability to aquatic play areas. Seeflow™ polymer,
another result of Vortex’s development, is a highly durable translucent material that

A Splashpad® is a zero depth aquatic solution that takes its cue from nature by combining
the sensations of different natural water movements – flowing, misting, sprinkling,
jetting – with over 200 standard products for uncompromising design and unequalled
aquatic play adventure. Regardless of the amount of space available for installation, all
Splashpad® equipment is built with the same premium materials, attention to quality
and expectation of operational ease. From a small 150 m2 (500 ft2) neighborhood park
Splashpad® to a spectacular 3000 m2 (10 000 ft2) Splashpad® in an amusement park,
they provide entertainment for the entire family.
Bays - age based planning for cross - generational attraction
Vortex’s three bay age-based planning ensures that your aquatic play area stimulates
and challenges visitors of all abilities. Bay designs appeal to everyone by providing
play areas for families, toddlers and teens. The main area is the Family Bay – appropriate
for all age groups. Toddler Bay is created specifically for younger children, and Teen
Bay gives ample space and opportunity to challenge the most energetic members
of the family.

Vortex Splashpads® independently turn on and off and run exactly as programmed
24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Water effects are activated “on-demand” by the
Splashpadders themselves within preset operating times. Built on proven Vortex
technology, the Command Centre ensures the reliable, worry-free functionality of every

To get the fun started, splashpadders touch the activator(s) located on the Splashpad®. The Activator then sends
a signal to the command center system controller which, in turn, responds by orchestrating one of several spray
sequences. The activation technology has no moving parts, operates on low voltage and constructed of durable
stainless steel to endure harsh environments.

Smartflow Splashpad®
Choosing the appropriate Water Management Solutions is essential to creating a reliable Splashpad® with high operational efficiencies.
Vortex offers a wide range of Water Management Solutions that are specifically designed and built to address the needs of various project
scenarios. These engineered solutions take into account such critical elements as water flow, wastewater management, health and
environmental regulations, operating and maintenance expectations and environmental impact. There are two main categories of
solutions available: Highflow recirculation solutions and Smartflow solutions using municipal wastewater systems or water reuse
systems. Both solutions have various options that our team of consultants can assist with in the selection process to best meet
your project needs.
Smartflow Splashpads® are designed to minimize water consumption while maximizing the fun. The water supply to a typical Smartflow
Splashpad® is drawn from a clean-water source. The effluent water can be used for irrigation, replenish a body of water, percolated to
ground water or sent to a municipal wastewater system. Vortex offers various technologies and solutions to allow the Splashpad®
to work in harmony with the environment.

The Smartflow Command Centers control water flow, water pressure, spray sequences and intervals of operation. It comprises the
Smartflow Logics™ Controller, a water distribution manifold, automated valves, pressure regulation and optional backflow protection.
All Command Centers are factory assembled and tested to ensure high quality installations.
Equipment Vault Command Centers (EV Series)
The EV Series Command Centers are self-enclosed systems that are ideal to keep equipment
out-of-sight and close to the Splashpad®. The below-grade enclosure is reinforced with
a stainless steel frame and durable non-ferrous walls providing excellent durability. The
stainless steel access hatch and step-down grate provide easy access for operators.

Highflow Splashpads® are defined by the process whereby water is contained, filtered, disinfected and re-distributed to the water
features in a closed-circuit water management system. They are typically Splashpads® that require a significant water supply to
operate the water features. Although the solution is fully automated with integrated water quality monitoring and equipment failsafe
controls, Highflow Splashpads® require daily maintenance from certified staff.

Water Containment System (WCS)
The WCS provides underground water storage and comes complete with a lockable access
hatch, access ladder, piping connections, make-up water system and check valves. The

visual inspections. This comprehensive solution will provide superior performance and
last longer than concrete tanks.
