OAKWOOD SOUTHSHORE VOLUNTEER WOW’S !!
Jeremy Peebles is the WOW volunteer at Oakwood-Southshore this quarter. He started volunteering at the Welcome
Center September 2012 and has over 300 hours of service.
Some of the compliments he has received over the past two years: “Jeremy is the friendliest volunteer, please keep him,
Jeremy is so helpful and always has a smile on his face, when I see Jeremy I am already smiling.”
Jeremy works and still finds time to volunteer. He enjoys many activities, bowling, and roller skating, hunting, fishing and
golfing. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus too and volunteers there as well.
When asked why do you volunteer here at Oakwood Southshore, his response, “I like meeting, helping and comforting
people
that Vibe
are in2nd
need.
I like
to make them laugh; I have a good sense about a person’s feelings”.

The second of Oakwood’s four unannounced Joint Commission surveys
concluded on June 6. Read about the phenomenal results, shared by
Maureen D’Agostino, Oakwood’s senior vice president of Quality, Service
and Performance Excellence.

Our goal for this Joint Commission survey was to get no more than
15 direct citations with a stretch goal of 13. I am proud to report that
Oakwood Taylor received only 5 direct citations and 5 indirect
citations. Thanks to the OH-T team, the affiliated physical therapy
sites and Opi for your commitment to quality and safety.

Surveyors remarked several times about the great environment and
grounds at OH-T, and if they needed care, they would not hesitate
to come here for services.

Many thanks to Lee Ann Odom, division president, Oakwood
Hospital – Taylor, her leadership team and all the managers and
staff who welcomed the surveyors and told their story so well.

My personal thanks to Oakwood Director of Accreditation Gayla
Weaver and all the accreditation coordinators who made this
success possible. Also, special thanks to Rahul Jadia,
administratior, Physical Medicine & Rehab and his team, as well as
Accreditation Regulation Coordinator Vanessa Judge, who
oversees accreditation for the off-campus sites.

A final report is being prepared and we will share those specific
results once it is received.
Thank you for living the standards every day and, as the Joint Commission
survey team leader noted, “It looks like the competition is on at Oakwood
Healthcare!”
