strong on environment conservation
• Villa Policy:
Introduced in 2007 for the development of
residential villa projects within a Tourism
development.

• Land Use plans:
This guides all developments and also
provides information on any protected areas
or areas of outstanding beauty
• 50m Contour Policy:
This policy restricts development above the 50m
contour line on Praslin and La Digue island
respectively
Procedures for Land Allocation
• State Land allocation for investment projects
are effected on Leasehold only
• All State land of a size above 20000 m² has to
be publicly tendered
• Tender documents are prepared in
collaboration with SIB and other partners
• Lease terms vary between 5 to 99 years
depending on the site, project and level of
investment

• Depending on level of investments, GOS could
enter into a MOU with the potential investor
which sets out where applicable, issues such
as responsibility of the parties vis a vis –
infrastructure development, corporate social
responsibility, environmental considerations
etc...
• Any sale or lease of land to non-Seychellois
requires GOS sanctions as per the IPTR....
