PART 1 - INTRODUCTION
Welcome to the Casio Picture Conversion Engine. This
software package allows users to convert and import
pictures to the Casio Prizm fx-CG10 Manager software for
use in classroom display. The following Image files can be
converted: bmp, jpg, jpe, jpeg, gif, png, jfif, and dib files.
The software will also allow users to convert the following
movie file types: avi, mov, mp4, 3gp, 3gpp, 3g2, and 3gp2
files. QuickTime does need to be installed on your
computer.

PART 2 - PICTURE “DRAG AND DROP” CONVERSION
The Casio picture conversion software makes it easy to
convert a picture file, by simply dragging a picture and
dropping it in the converter.
• Open folder containing the picture to be converted
and drag it into the NO IMAGE area.
• When prompted to auto convert, select “Yes”.

• A message will appear, informing you of the location
of the new file. Select OK.
• The new image will now appear in the same folder as
the original in “g3p” format.
• The image is now ready to import to the Prizm
Manager Software. (See Part 6)

PART 3 - FINE TUNING IMAGE FILES
There are times when the image will need to be fine tuned
before being converted. This section will show you how to
fine tune your image.
• Drag and drop a picture into the image viewing area,
and answer NO to Auto Convert.
• You can also use the open file button or File / Open
on the task bar and avoid the auto convert question.

3A - FIT WINDOW
The rectangle on the viewing window represents the
calculator screen.
Width - this button will fit the image to the
width of the screen, as shown.
Height - this button will make the height of the
image the same height as the screen, as shown.

3B - ZOOMING
Zooming allows you to zoom in or out on a specific part of
the image.
Zoom In – Zooms in about the center of the
image.
Zoom Out – Zooms out about the center of the
image.

3C - ROTATING
Rotating an image can be useful when an image needs to
be turned a little or a lot.
Rotate 90° Clockwise — from the previous
position. Pressing the button will continue to
rotate the image clockwise.

Rotate 90° Counterclockwise — from the
previous position. Pressing the button will
continue to rotate the image clockwise.
Rotate by a specific angle — this control allows
you to rotate the image manually, by specifying
the angle measurement, either positive
(clockwise) or negative (counter clockwise),
using integer values. You can type in a value or
use the arrow keys.

3D - CUSTOMIZE THE X & Y AXIS
Adjust the placement, scale, and position of the coordinate
axis.
Show Axis – this will display the axis in its default
location, the middle screen. The scaling for the default
are the initial settings of the screen.
• The Scale Change option box will open and remain
open; this box allows you to change the scale of the
axis without changing the settings.
• Square Button — this links the x and y step scales; the
grid will remain square, despite changes in x or y.

• Adjust the x-axis scale — select a tick mark on the xaxis to change the scale of the x-axis. Make sure
Square is not checked.
• Adjust the y-axis scale — select a tick mark on the yaxis to change the scale of the y-axis. Make sure
Square is not checked.

• Move origin — Place the red circle at the origin and
move it to the new desired location.
Press Convert to convert the image. A
dialog box will display, stating the location of the new
image file, as it did in Part 2.

PART 4 - CONVERTING VIDEOS USING DEFAULT
SETTINGS
The Casio picture conversion software makes it easy to
convert a picture file, simply drag a picture and drop it in
the converter.
• Open folder containing the video and drag the image
of the video you would like to convert into the Image
viewing area (NO IMAGE area).
• Drag the Grey slider on the
top to the first frame of video
you want to convert. The
first frame will display in the
image viewing area.
• Once you have
selected the
starting frame,
push the Blue
Start Button.

• Select the end point by
dragging the gray slider
to the final position and
press the red End
button. A message will
display that says
“Converting…”
• Once finished you will see the 10 frames of the
Flipbook file (10 frames are the default settings).
The default settings can be changed; see Chapter 5 Fine Tuning video files.
• Press the Convert button and the new Image Series
file will be created and placed in the same place as the
original file, as a “g3b” file.
• Now the picture is ready to import to the Prizm
manager and use. (See Part 6)

PART 5 - FINE TUNING VIDEO FILES
This section will focus on adding frames and adjusting the
look and feel of the image series file. All the static picture
tools are also available for use with image series files.
5A - CHANGING NUMBER OF FRAMES AND
SETTING TIME VALUE
• See Part 2 for drag and drop instructions and basics
of setting up a video; “file-open” or the open file icon
can also be used. Be sure to select “Movie files” in the
folder from the pull down menu.
• To add more or take
away frames (10 frames
are set by default),
open the Tools (T)
menu at the top of the
screen and select
“Setting…(T)”.
• Select the number of
frames between 2 and
30; starting time and
time step values can
also be adjusted here.

PART 6 - IMPORTING INTO THE
MANAGER SOFTWARE
Files converted by the Casio Conversion software can only
be used and viewed on the Casio Prizm Manager software.
They cannot be imported to a handheld.
To convert a file for use on a handheld unit see:
http://education.casio.com/prizm/
and submit your image through the Lesson Library.
• Open the Manger
software. From the
Main Menu, press k
for the Memory icon.
• Press e(PC).

• The image or image
series file needs to
be imported, so
select q(Import).
Select the file from
the computer folder.
• Now, select the
Casio folder by
pressing Nq(OPEN).
• Place the file in the
appropriate folder,
to make it easier to
find later; “g3b” files
are image series and
“g3p” files are static
images. Press
NNq(OPEN) and
q(SAVE)d.
• The file is now available for use as a background
image or in the Picture Plot Mode.
