Vouvray Petillant Natural Moustillant, 2010 abv12% A naturally sparkling
wine from the Loire, where the wines are bottled during the primary fermentation.
Made by Catherine & Pierre Breton who work naturally. The grapes are hand picked,
small yields, no dosage or filteration. Gently effervescent with fruit notes & delicate
honey. Really lovely.
White Wine
Folle Blanche du Pays Nantais, Pierre Luneau-Papin, Muscadet, 2011
abv11% From the wonderful wine region of Muscadet in the Loire. The Folle Blanche
grape variety is traditionally used to make Cognac & Armagnac. Here, it favours its
£24.00
position next to the sea & this shows in the tones of sea salty sappiness & minerality.
Notes of grapefruit, a lovely freshness & clean finish.
Ugni Blanc, Domaine Alloïs, Terre d’Ailleuls, Vin de pays de Vaucluse,
Provence, 2010 abv14.5% A beautiful wine. 100% Ugni Blanc, grown on old vines
from a very particular piece of land. Lots of care & attention has gone into producing
with hand picked grapes & six months ageing in aged wood. The nose develops to white
£65.00
flowers & fruits soaked in syrup (almost marmalade like) with a soft hint of fresh oak. The
palate is full of savoury & floral tones with a hint of honey & fennel. The finish is very long.
Red Wine
Cuvée Quatre Saisons, Domaine Mont d’Hortes, Vin de Pays de Cotes de
Thongue, Languedoc, 2011 abv13% Well-sited vineyards, just in sight of the sea at
the bottom of the Hérault Valley. A great light to medium bodied wine, plenty of ripe
fruit, a juicy palate with biting tones, easy drinking & very quaffable. A blend of
£23.75
Grenache, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon & Merlot.
Pinot Noir Reserve, La Grand Piece, Domaine Saint-Nicholas, Thierry
Michon, Loire, 2001 abv12% Situated south of Nantes next to the sea, woodlands &
marshes. 40 year old vines & farmed biodynamically which is a major undertaking to
keep the soil & hence the vines healthy. He raises his own cows simply for the manure
£80.00
which is used for the soil.
Burgundian in style. Fifteen months elevage in big (400-litre) casks (hence the
name, “Grande Pièce” which means big cask). Whether it is the schist soil or the
micro-climate, this Pinot Noir is one of the Loire’s best, exhibiting a strong hit of
raspberry allied to a vibrant saltiness, alluding to its maritime origins.

with oaky notes but also with a great minerality, very well crafted wine.

£59.00
fruit & spice on the nose, rich morello cherry & chocolate flavours on the palate.
Red: Chateau le Barrail, Cru Bourgeois, Medoc, 2009 abv13.5% Great fruit, not too much tannin
& decent depth of flavour relatively modern in style as it has appreciably ripe fruit, not just leather.
