Post conference trip to Royal Botanical gardens of Wales
The National Botanic Garden of Wales has several important plant collections which are not only unique to Wales
but to the rest of the world, and since 1997, we have acquired 8,000 taxa (different sorts of plants) from 240
families, making up 12,000 individual entries on our database. A large glasshouse unit, as part of the millennium
project it is the newest Botanical gardens in the UK.

There are lots of different public transport options and there are also several offers and promotions for guests that
use sustainable transport. We also have electric charge points so that guests and members of the public can charge
their electric car. We have two car parks at the Zoo, with lots of spaces. There is a £3 (cash only) charge for parking
Travelling by bus
The First Bus 8 and 9 bus services run between Temple Meads Station, the city centre and the Zoo. Click here for the

Park and Ride to Bristol Zoo.
Long Ashton Park & Ride: the Wessex Bristol 505 Park & Ride service runs from Long Ashton Park and Ride, seven
days a week. Portway Park & Ride: the Wessex Bristol 901 Portway Park & Ride service runs from the Bristol
Portway to Bristol Zoo and Clifton Village. On weekends and after 10am on weekdays, the cost of using the park and
ride is £4.
Travelling to us by bicycle
If you’re planning to travel by bicycle, we have plenty of cycle racks available to keep your bike safe while you enjoy
the Zoo

Travelling by train
You can buy a joint ticket with discounted travel and Zoo entry. This applies to adult and child tickets only. There’s a
local train service to Clifton Down Station (a ten-minute walk to the Zoo). Or, from Bristol Temple Meads Station,
take the 8 or 9 bus service to the Zoo’s main entrance. For more information, call National Rail Enquiries on 08457

Travel by car
We have two car parks at the Zoo. There is a £3 charge for parking and a £1 charge for members. There is also lots of
on-street parking which is free on weekends and Bank holidays.
At junction 18 of the M5, exit toward A4/A403/Bristol/Avonmouth/Docks. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto
Portway/A4 heading to City Centre/Bristol/A38. Sharp left onto Portway/A4176 (Bridge Valley Road) - Please note
that Bridge Valley Road will be closed on Sunday 16 June, please use alternate directions below on this day. Continue
to follow A4176. Bristol Zoo is located on your right hand side at the top of Bridge Valley Road.17 974736
