This is a modern, relevant and compelling
vehicle, with its well-proportioned compact
body and purposeful stance. Its distinctive
silhouette and beautifully sculpted surfaces
all combine to create a vehicle that truly

Characteristic design cues complement
perfectly balanced proportions. Strong
dynamic lines and robust detailing signal
the Discovery Sport's incredible breadth

The fast hood line with a pronounced step into

INTERIOR
The desirability of the exterior design
continues into the cabin with bold horizontal
and vertical lines. Complemented by clean
surfaces, superb finishes and optional
premium leathers to promote what is a
highly versatile package. Inside and outside
seamlessly blend into a vehicle that clearly
communicates its Discovery DNA, while firmly
looking forward.
It features high-quality materials and a strong
vertical centre console graphic to reflect the
premium design of the exterior.
The cabin is integrated with up to four 12V
power points and six USB charging sockets.
These can be specified for all three rows of
seating, allowing multiple electronic devices
to be charged simultaneously.
This spirit of adventure is reflected in the
New Discovery Sport interior, which has been
designed with you at its core.

5+2 SEATING
New Discovery Sport offers exemplary levels
of comfort and outstanding versatility. The
second row is extremely spacious and flexible
with the seats able to slide back and forth
by 16 cm / 6.3 inches for greater cargo space
or comfort.
The optional third row, with its simple,
single-handed 50:50 deployment, has
been cleverly incorporated to avoid any
compromizes to the vehicle’s exterior design,
while maintaining passenger comfort.

Family and friends keen to get out there
and make the most of a new day?
New Discovery Sport has been designed
and engineered to meet any challenge.
The vehicle has the option of flexible seating
which, when stored flat, gives a cargo floor
that is as long as Range Rover and a maximum
cargo space of 1,778 litres / 62.8 cu. ft.
Even while carrying five passengers, the
cargo space is still an impressive 980 litres /
34.6 cu. ft. New Discovery Sport can handle
bulkier loads with consummate ease when
the second and third rows are folded flat.
Such flexibility helps make carrying family,
friends and all their gear that much easier.

TERRAIN RESPONSE®
Land Rover has always been synonymous
with capability and the New Discovery Sport
lives up to even the most demanding
expectations. Confident and responsive,
the drive is further enhanced by a generous
wheel articulation and innovative off-road
technologies such as Terrain Response®*.
This feature adapts to the responses of the
vehicle’s engine, gearbox, differentials and
chassis systems to maximize driveability,
comfort and traction.
There are four standard Terrain Response®
settings: General Driving, Grass/Gravel/Snow,
Mud & Ruts and Sand. So, the vehicle feels
sure-footed no matter what the terrain.

HILL DESCENT
CONTROL
(HDC®)
New Discovery Sport bristles with
technologies* that enhance the vehicle’s
performance and capabilities. One such
feature is Land Rover’s patented Hill Descent
Control (HDC®) which assists with controlled
descents of difficult slopes by maintaining
a constant speed and applying braking
separately to each wheel.
Hill Start Assist ensures you don’t roll
backwards as you pull away on an incline*.
The vehicle also utilizes Gradient Release
Control which is designed to prevent the
vehicle ‘running away’ on a steep incline when
the driver inadvertently releases the brake*.

TOWING AND DRIVING AIDS
With a towing capacity of up to 1,996kg
/ 4,400lb and by incorporating tailored
technologies, New Discovery Sport can
handle the most demanding of tasks.
TOW HITCH ASSIST
TRAILER STABILITY ASSIST
Trailer Stability Assist (TSA)* monitors the
vehicle to detect movements in the trailer and
then uses selective braking to help correct
potentially hazardous situations.
Tow Hitch Assist*† makes coupling a trailer to
the vehicle that much easier by helping you
visualize the hitching process; it displays the
predicted path of the vehicle towards the
trailer tow bar on the Touch-screen.
On the road, the Tow Assist feature helps
with reversing by predicting the trailer‘s
direction. You can even choose your trailer’s
width for precise guidelines displayed on
the Touch-screen.

HEAD UP DISPLAY
Head Up Display* is a technological option that presents key vehicle data such as road speed,
gear position and navigation directions on the windshield, without distraction or the need
for you to take your eyes off the road.** In a world first, the Land Rover system features laser
holographic techniques, resulting in superior colour saturation, brightness and contrast.
The innovative laser system is more robust against issues such as ‘washout’ – the effect that
the glare from sunlight has on inferior LED-based systems.

COMFORT FOR ALL
CLIMATE FRONT SEATS
PANORAMIC ROOF**
For the ultimate comfort whatever the
temperature, climate front seats are available.
This option provides both heated and cooled
ventilation through perforations in the leather
seats. The driver and passenger preferences
can be independently controlled via the
Touch-screen*.
The optional full glass fixed panoramic roof
enhances the sense of space in the vehicle’s
interior and floods it with natural light
as well as providing uninterrupted views
of the surrounding environment.
HEATED REAR SEATS**
For added comfort vehicles can be specified
with optional heated second row seats.
To maintain a comfortable interior
temperature and to provide a sense of
privacy, the toughened glass has a dark tint
to offer a high degree of solar protection.
When additional shade or privacy is required,
an electric fabric sunblind can be extended
across the full surface of the glass roof.
CONFIGURABLE MOOD
LIGHTING
New levels of ambient refinement and
personalization have been reached with
the option of Configurable Mood Lighting†.
Using a combination of coloured LEDs, this
feature allows you to vary the shade, changing
the ambience of the cabin to suit your mood.
There are five colours in total, ranging from
white through to moonlight and red.

COMFORT FOR ALL
POWERED GESTURE TAILGATE
POWERED TAILGATE**
Powered Gesture Tailgate* allows you to
operate the tailgate (both to open and close)
from outside the vehicle without needing
to physically touch the vehicle or the remote
key fob. Provided that the key fob is detected,
the tailgate may be operated by waving a
foot underneath the rear of the vehicle.
This optional feature allows the tailgate
to be opened using the key fob, a switch on
the facia or operated independently using
a button on the tailgate itself. A button
located inside the tailgate allows the
tailgate to be closed automatically.
Two sensors mounted on either side of the
tailgate allow curbside operation, rather
than needing to be immediately behind
the vehicle. And as the system is compatible
with accessory towing solutions, you can still
tackle demanding situations with the least
amount of fuss.
USB CHARGING POINTS†
Want to charge a games console, tablet
or smartphone while you’re on the move?
New Discovery Sport has the option of four
charging USB ports throughout all rows, to
make charging your device effortlessly simple.

INCONTROLTM TOUCH
InControl™ Touch is the command centre for a wealth of features designed to provide
you with tools for a safer drive and to make your experience more entertaining. It features
a contemporary and fresh graphical design displayed on an eight-inch Touch-screen.
It is the central hub from where you can connect and control your chosen entertainment and
media. You can therefore enjoy an unimaginable amount of music and imagery all within one
simple to use system. The ability to connect your smartphone via Bluetooth® is also available.

It is the interface where you can control the ambient lighting to suit your mood and preference,
by varying the colour and brightness level. The system also controls the air flow distribution
within the car and allows you to operate the climate seats. In addition, the system also offers
a timed climate feature which acts as a digital thermostat, allowing you to set specific times
and dates as to when your climate control is activated.
InControl™ Touch provides all of the capabilities that you need such as navigation system,
Bluetooth® connection on your phone, ECO Data functionality and the Land Rover 4x4i function.

CONNECT
InControlTM Protect enables you to
monitor your vehicle wherever you are.
The InControlTM Remote Essentials App,
downloaded through the App Store or
Google Play, ensures you are fully prepared
for your journey by displaying the fuel
level and location of your vehicle. Remote
Essentials also gives you vital information on
fluid levels and whether your vehicle is locked
or any doors or windows are open. You are
also able to download your journeys to assist
in reviewing mileage.
InControlTM Connect gives you outstanding
connectivity within your vehicle, ensuring you
and your passengers enjoy the journey while
remaining connected.
InControlTM Protect gives you peace of mind
through SOS Emergency call and Optimized
Land Rover Assistance. In the event of an
emergency, the SOS Emergency call notifies
the emergency services of the location of
your vehicle.
INCONTROLTM APPS*
Connects your smartphone with the Touchscreen in your vehicle, meaning you can
stay safely connected to your smartphone.
InControlTM Apps enables you to control
compatible apps on the InControlTM Touchscreen, ensuring the safe and convenient use
of apps that have been optimized specifically
for use within your vehicle.
INCONTROLTM REMOTE
PREMIUM
InControlTM Remote Premium is an app
available on Android and iPhone®, which
allows you to interact with your vehicle
remotely. InControlTM Remote Premium
not only provides basic information with the
use of Remote Essentials, it also enables you
to communicate with your vehicle. You are
able to lock/unlock your vehicle, cool/heat
your vehicle to the desired temperature prior
to your journey and set a ‘beep and flash’
in order to locate your vehicle in a crowded
parking lot.**

NINE-SPEED AUTOMATIC
New Discovery Sport is paired with a state-ofthe-art nine-speed automatic gearbox with
an innovative adaptive shifting system which
matches the driver's mood within seconds.
One of the most efficient and technically
advanced transmissions used in a production
vehicle, its controls include rotary gearshift
and steering wheel-mounted paddle-shift
as standard.
Nine gears deliver improvement in fuel
economy and a corresponding reduction
in CO2 emissions while smaller ratio steps
give improved response during acceleration,
improved shift quality, drive and refinement.
2.0 LITRE TURBOCHARGED I-4
New Discovery Sport models feature a 240HP
2.0 litre turbocharged I-4 engine, combining
six-cylinder refinement and performance
with four-cylinder fuel economy. Twinned
with a nine-speed automatic gearbox, the
turbocharged I-4 delivers 0-100kph in 8.2
seconds with a top speed of 199kph.
This lightweight engine combines three
key powertrain technologies – advanced
low-inertia turbocharging, high-pressure
direct fuel injection and twin variable valve
timing. Together, they provide outstanding
driveability, with very strong bottom-end
performance and an extremely broad
power band.

BODY
New Discovery Sport features a strong,
lightweight body structure which has been
developed using advanced, weight saving
materials to deliver stiffness and refinement
together with crash performance.
The structure is based on a steel monocoque
foundation which is derived from Land Rover’s
compact SUV platform.
Lightweight technologies are used extensively
in the body design including an optimized
steel body construction, aluminum hood, roof
and tailgate panels, lightweight aluminum
suspension components, magnesium cross
car beam and front end carrier.
CHASSIS AND VEHICLE
DYNAMICS
New Discovery Sport has an advanced new
fully independent suspension system that
has been specially developed by Land Rover
engineers to deliver agile and refined on-road
dynamics along with the brand’s legendary
all-terrain capability. Lightweight aluminum
chassis components are used extensively on
New Discovery Sport to improve suspension
performance by increasing stiffness and
reducing unsprung weight, while also
reducing total vehicle weight.
FRONT SUSPENSION
Aluminum components are used within the
front suspension, including the front lower
control arm and suspension knuckle. The front
suspension struts have advanced hydraulic
rebound stops, which help to manage the
noise and loads caused by severe impacts
such as speed bumps to maintain composure
in urban and off-road environments.
COMPACT REAR
SUSPENSION DESIGN
New Discovery Sport has a fully independent
suspension system that combines front coilsprung struts with an advanced new multilink rear suspension design. This delivers
enhanced dynamics and refinement together
with a compact layout to provide increased
interior space.
The system has been specifically developed
to enhance the New Discovery Sport's
unrivalled breadth of capability, offering
responsive and agile handling together
with supreme ride quality and refinement.
Excellent wheel travel and articulation helps
the vehicle achieve class-leading off-road
performance.
The compact aluminum multi-link layout
also creates a much more spacious rear
compartment, with enhanced shoulder
and elbow room, the option of 5+2 seating
and increased luggage space.
Mounted on an optimized steel subframe,
the system is light and stiff for optimum
steering response, chassis performance
and refinement.

LANE DEPARTURE WARNING*†
TRAFFIC SIGN RECOGNITION*
A forward-facing camera mounted ahead of the rear view
mirror monitors the lane markings on both sides of the
vehicle and is designed to give the driver a warning should
the driver drift out of the lane without the indicators being
triggered. The alert comes in the form of a discrete vibration
through the steering wheel, allowing the driver to take
the appropriate action.
Working in conjunction with the navigation system, this system
scans the road ahead for certain traffic signs and displays them
in the Message Centre in the instrument pack. The following
signs are detected: speed limit signs, no-overtaking signs,
variable overhead speed signs and traffic signs.
AUTONOMOUS
EMERGENCY BRAKING*†
This system helps further enhance the active safety aspects
of New Discovery Sport. Using a forward-facing digital
camera, it detects static vehicles and vehicles travelling in the
same direction and automatically reduces impact speed if it
calculates that a collision is likely. The driver is alerted of the
risk by a visual and audible warning signal.
Please note: Lane Departure Warning, Traffic Sign Recognition, Autonomous Emergency Braking and Adaptive Xenon Headlights are available from late 2015.

REVERSE TRAFFIC DETECTION†
Activated while reversing, this optional system works by
informing the driver in the event of a vehicle approaching
from either side which may present a hazard, with both
audible and visual warnings.
PARALLEL PARK AND PERPENDICULAR
PARKING*†
Optional Parallel Park is designed to identify suitable
parking spaces and to automatically steer into the space
while you operate the pedals.
Perpendicular Park is an optional addition to the system.
Truly useful in parking lots and tight spaces, it automatically
assesses whether the chosen space is wide enough before
steering the vehicle centrally into place.
ADAPTIVE XENON HEADLIGHTS†
With their signature design, these optional distinctive
LED lights combine distinctive looks with real capability.
Adaptive Xenon lights swivel to follow the road while static
bending lamps follow the curb to give the driver greater
confidence at night.

SUSTAINABILITY
Sustainability is at the heart of everything
we do and consequently all powertrains on
New Discovery Sport have been optimized
to enhance sustainability by minimizing
fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
The engine features the latest high-pressure
direct injection technology and state-of-theart low-friction designs which have been
carefully developed to minimize frictional
losses. While the nine-speed automatic
transmission is specified with the latest
low viscosity transmissions fluid to
maximize efficiency.
A smart regenerative charging electrical
system has also been introduced which
has an intelligent power management
system to prioritize charging when the car
is decelerating, capturing the wasted kinetic
energy and reducing the fuel demand of
the electrical system.
The ECO Data feature provides drivers with
information and feedback via the eight-inch
Touch-screen to help them adopt more
economical driving habits.
The standard advanced Intelligent Stop/Start
system automatically shuts down the engine
in just 300 milliseconds when the vehicle
comes to rest. This improves fuel economy
and CO2 emissions by between five
and seven percent.

OPTIMIZED AERODYNAMICS
LIGHTWEIGHT MATERIALS
With its more streamlined profile, New
Discovery Sport is the most aerodynamic
Land Rover vehicle yet, with an eight percent
reduction and a drag coefficient (Cd) of 0.36.
New Discovery Sport also offers a unique 18
inch alloy wheel for optimized aerodynamics.
To optimize vehicle performance and
efficiency, New Discovery Sport has been
developed using lightweight materials
and technologies. The vehicle has
been designed with key weight-saving
technologies including an optimized steel
body construction, aluminum hood, roof
and tailgate panels, lightweight aluminum
suspension components, magnesium cross
car beam and front end carrier.
The four-wheel driveline components have
also been optimized for weight. The interior
has also been designed with efficiency in
mind, with optimized seat structures which
use laser-welded high tensile steel.

A neatly integrated third row of seats can be specified to give you even
more versatility. These seats are ideal for children and teenagers, or
adults on short journeys*. They are easily accessed by tipping and sliding
forward the second row seats. When folded, the third row seats leave a
flat floor in the luggage compartment as if it were a five-seat model.
