which represents one of the biggest weeks of
Santa Gertrudis sales in Australia in 2016.

SALE BULL SELECTION
All bulls offered at this sale have been inspected and selected by a Breed
Society classifier. Please note all herd bulls are also Breed Society Classifier
Approved.
BREEDING SOUNDNESS
All bulls offered for sale will have passed a semen test and soundness
evaluation by a registered veterinary surgeon and a certificate will be
available on request.
SUPPLEMENTARY SHEET
Each vendor will have their bulls scanned prior to the sale by a certified
scanning technician for eye muscle area, rump and rib fat, marbling (IMF%).
These results will be available on a supplementary sheet available on sale
day. The scanning and weighing date for all bulls will be included on the
supplementary sheet.

Those studs with Breedplan will display the Breed Society Group Breedplan
figures under each bull.

their environment and have the ability to meet target market specifications.

compromised.

relationship between these traits and the pedigree links between animals
and between herds.

SIRE REFERENCE
Founded in 1983, we started performance recording in 1988, making
Wightfields one of the longest recorded herds in the breed. We have
always selected our sires and replacement females with a commercial
focus in mind. Our aim is to breed high growth, fertile, well-muscled,
early finishing poll cattle to meet all market requirements, easily off
pasture at an early age.
Our breeding objective has always been to breed herd improving sires
for the commercial cattle producer. We select our cattle for high growth,
early sexual maturity, high semen morphology and a combination of
good EMA’s and easy finishing ability and most importantly, high fertility.
We selectively join our females to the bull we believe will most improve
the overall balance of performance in the resultant progeny. Our stud
cattle are joined for 12 weeks and pregnancy tested annually, with
empties culled.
The stud has undergone some significant changes in its operations over
the last few years; we are a very commercial orientated herd. This year
we will join approximately 500 commercial cows and 150 classified stud
cows. In our commercial herd, we breed for the feedlot markets as well
as breeding out for pasture feed EU markets.
In an aim to continually keep improving the lineage of our cattle, new
sires are regularly introduced. This allows us to keep a wide genetic base
in our herd. Over the last 2 seasons, and once again this year, we have
A.I’d 50 of our leading stud cows to leading Santa Gertrudis sires. This
allows our valued clients to keep buying our bulls, knowing they are
getting fresh genetics into their herds.
Our genetics are proven to breed on, with sons of Wightfields Downpour
G21, who sold to the Rosevale Santa Stud for a top price of $36,000 at
the 2012 Wandoan Sale. A son of G21 sold to a top of $70,000 at the
2015 Rosevale Santa Sale, with 19 sons selling to a great average of
$12,026.
This year’s sale bulls have been vaccinated for 3 Germ Blood, 3
Day sickness, Vibrio and 7 in 1 and are Pesti Virus free and Semen
Morphology tested.
All our sale bulls sold are fully guaranteed and if there any issue please
don’t hesitate to call us.
We have been very lucky this year; our bulls have been on crop all year,
between forage and oats. By sale time, all the bulls will have had 4
months on oats, all the sale bulls are poll or poll scur this year also. We
are very happy with this year’s sale team and look forward to presenting
them for your appraisal.

GREENUP ENRIQUE (PS) was purchased at the 2010 Greenup Sale for
$25,000. Enrique has done an amazing job for our herd; he has been a
stand out stud sire for us for a number of years, his females are amazing
and very fertile. Enrique is a very well balanced bull across all traits. He
possesses great muscle and finishing ability, fine coat type and is poll.

SIRE REFERENCE
Since 2008 the Celamba Santa stud has been breeding bulls
that work well for your enterprise be it large or small. We have
purchased quality females with a broad range genetics from
Yarrawonga, Waco, Rosevale, Warenda, Gyranda, Tara, Santa Park,
Five Ace, Scotlea, Warenna, Wightfields, Eidsvold, Dangerfield and
Yulgilbar.
Our focus has been on fertility, temperament, milking ability and
constitution. We feel that improving in these areas are the basics
of breeding quiet, growthy, early finishing cattle that are easy to
handle and females that will have the ability to produce quality
calves and longevity.
This year we offer 8 classified bulls for your appraisal.
Our bulls as weaners were on oats and forage with access to
buffle but due to the dry autumn and winter they have had to be
fed a prepared bull mix and hay at Wandoan.
Our bulls have been vaccinated with 7 in1, Vibrio, 3 day,
3 germ blood and have been tested pesti virus negative.

We purchased Bullamakinka Ferrari for $12,000 in 2013. He is a
big upstanding mobile sire with good bone and great breed
character.
RAYTEK RAYDAR J21
Raydar was a calf at foot when we purchased Raytek Rachel
F17. Rachel has had 4 calves in 4 years and 3 of 3 have classified.
Raydar has a lovely quiet nature and easy doing ability.
JAMALLY MEGATRON J10
We purchased Jamally Megatron in 2014 at the Wandoan Santa
sale for $8,500. We are very impressed with the exceptional
nature and strong characteristics of this bull. We are very happy
with the performance of his calves.
ROSEVALE ATOMIC F430 (PS) was purchased at the 2011 Rosevale
Sale for $26,000. He was purchased for his growth, big SS, high EMA and
high fat. He also has a trim sheath and dark fine coat type. He is doing a
tremendous job for us.

SIRE REFERENCE
Bunda Santa Gertrudis was established in 2009. Our operation
includes a commercial herd of 480 cows and farming in the
Wyaga area, 75km North East of Goondiwindi, Queensland. Our
commercial herd is 75% Santa and Santa Cross cows and we use
all Santa Bulls.
Our aim is to produce easy doing cattle of medium frame, good
muscling and structure, high breed character with an emphasis
on fertility and Temperament.
Sires from a number of studs have been used through an AI
program including Kelly Wallah Babylon 757, Diamond H Jasper
E159 and Rosevale Rippon U27. We have also introduced bulls
from Rosevale and Brookside.
Bulls on offer this year are sired by Brookside 2993 (P) a 100%
Homozygous Poll. Bunda Gasper G36 AI (P) by Diamond H Jasper
E159. Bullamakinka Gladiator G52 and Bullamakinka H160 both
sired by Canowindra Gold Edition.
Sires purchased in 2015 include Cardona Organic (P) for $24,000,
Canowindra Magic (P) for $14,000 and Dangarfield Xerox (P)
$11,000.
This year we are offering Bulls with Spring Creek and Warenna
Prefixes. We were lucky enough to obtain these bulls as weaners
from the Doering and Parish Families. These bulls have been run
with, prepared and subjected to the same selection criteria as
our own bulls.
The bulls this year have been prepared on a crop of Lab Lab and
have been supplemented with Prolix and given access to Barley
Straw. All Bulls have been vaccinated with Pestigard, 7 in 1,
3 Day, and 3 Germ Blood. All bulls have been Crush side and
Morphology Tested.

SIRE REFERENCE
Triple S stud was established in 2008 by the Bruggemann family.
The Stud recently relocated from Wandoan to “Wongalea” at
Taroom, with this relocation we have been able to increase our
cow herd to 350 with around 200 registered cows with a goal to
increase this number in the future.
All females are control mated and must preg test in calf every
year or be culled as has been our practice for the last 20
years. Sires used in the breeding herd include: Hardigreen
Park Mountain ($35,000) Dangarfield Thunder ($30,000)
Yarrawonga Archer ($14,000) Wave Hill Foreman ($14,000),
Dangarfield Voltage (P) ($28,000). Bulls purchased recently but
not represented include Yarrawonga Dividend (P) ($36,000) and
Yarrawonga Eachway (P) ($44,000).
We aim to breed bulls with weight gain, bone, muscle with
fat cover, structural correctness, good temperament and high
fertility and enough frame to maintain size in most people’s
herds.
Breed character is very important to us and we aim to maintain
loose skin and tropical content. Above all else we aim to
breed bulls that produce more beef, more efficiently allowing
producers to improve their bottom line.
This year at the Wandoan Santa Sale we will offer 22 top quality
bulls consisting of 16 classified bulls and 6 classifier approved
herd bulls. All bulls have been fully vaccinated and tested free
of Pesti Virus and will require booster shots for 7 in 1, Vibrio and
3 day sickness in August each year. This year’s sale bulls have
also been semen morphology tested for extra assurance of high
fertility.

SIRE REFERENCE
Valleyview stud was established in 1975 with females purchased
from Yarrawonga, Elgin Downs, Bolinda Vale and King Ranch.
Sires were purchased from Eidsvold Station (our foundation sire)
further purchases of sires followed from Yarrawonga, Rosevale,
Kendara, Watasanta, Warenda, Hardigreen Park and other leading
studs in the coming years. Majority of our females are polled
and are selected for temperament and fertility and all must
calve each year and perform to produce a classified calf. Our
main focus is producing soft well muscled correct to type, good
temperament and fertile bulls for auction each year.
Our bulls have topped Big S, Rockhampton, Casino Bull sales
in the 30+ years selling to $20,000 with good averages and
clearances. The stud is single sire mated so quality is paramount
which is also the same with our commercial herd. Sale bulls
are prepared on pasture, natural grasses, lab lab and oats with
limited sale pellets to sale time.
All bulls have been vet checked, semen checked, vaccinated
7 in 1, 3 germ blood vibrio, 3 day sickness and tested negative for
pestivirus.
Valleyview stud believes that the Santa Gertrudis breed has a lot
to offer to cattlemen for cross breeding into British and European
based herds around the country for increased weight gain and
for premium sale yard prices.

Jamally Santa Gertrudis stud was established in 2006 as stud
number 2024. The stud is based in the Taroom district where
we have both been brought up. The foundation Jamally herd
was established through the purchase of cows from Gyranda,
Dangarfield and Santa Park. The Becker family have been
breeding Santa’s in the Taroom district for two decades, which is
where Jamie’s passion for the breed developed.
Our breeding goals are to provide quality bulls that possess
growth, fertility, and constitution. We also place a huge emphasis
on temperament in not only our bulls but our breeders as well.
The principle sire represented at this years’ sale by Jamally is
Yarrawonga Aldo F200 (PS) who was purchased in 2011. Aldo
was purchased for a combination of reasons, including being
polled with a neat underline whilst maintaining the tropical
attributes of having a short coat and hooded eyes. He also
displays good length and an ability to lay down fat. The most
pleasing attribute of Aldo is his temperament which he is
passing on to his progeny, this years’ sale bulls will be some of
the last to be offered by Aldo. Last year we purchased Moongana
Merlin I2348 for $28,000 and we are excited to see the impact
that this bull will have on the stud.
This year we are proud to offer seven bulls at the Wandoan Santa
Sale. These bulls have had a good preparation in a below average
season. They were weaned onto oats with the remainder of their
lives spent on buffel with a grain supplement in a buffel paddock
for the days leading up to the sale. Four of the bulls were taken
to the 2016 Theodore Show where they took out 2nd and 4th in
the Pair of Unled Bulls Interbreed Class.

The Dundee Stud was established 30 years ago with Pampoola cows purchased from Kym McMaster’s
grandfather Felix Schmidt, her Uncle, Noel Schmidt and her parents Lester and Barbara Schmidt who then had
a share of the Yarrandoo Stud.
Noel Schmidt also leant Dundee a top Bull, Pampoola 82H, who was by King Ranch D9. From this great start
and further use of Pampoola bloodlines and King Ranch sire 199N, bought at the King Ranch Dispersal Sale, a
top line of females were produced.
In 1996 Dundee, purchased Rosevale T329 a heavily muscled, long framed, polled bull who had an incredible
impact on their Stud. Rosevale T329 consistently produced well-muscled, early maturing bulls that had
great growth for age and plenty of fertility. His daughters are highly fertile, feminine, soft and well muscled.
Pampoola Nato(P) was purchased in 2000, he added frame and smoothness to the Dundee cattle while
retaining the polled gene and tidy sheaths. Nato crossed well over the Rosevale females, producing a slightly
bigger animal with a smoother top-line and plenty of depth and fleshing.
Kendara Uni was purchased in 2005 for $11000, he was selected for his massive weight gaining ability, his
temperament, his fleshing, his tidy sheath and his tropical coat type. Uni is also extremely fertile with semen
morphology of 92% at 2 year old and a 98% pregnancy rate over his last 5 years. In 2009 Kendara Zinger was
purchased for $10000. A polled son of Dundee Larriken, one of Kendara’s most influential sires, Zinger was
purchased for his doing ability, temperament, clean tropical coat and his pre-potent genetics. He has been
joined to many of Nato’s cows and Uni’s heifers and is producing top calves. Dundee Ulysses (P) one of Nato’s
better sons was retained for stud duties due to his fantastic figures, temperament and doing ability. Dundee
Extra, one of Ullysses first drop of sons, sold for $13000 in 2011 to the ‘Fishington Stud’ and another Dundee
YMCA sold to the Rowanlea Stud’ for $12500 in 2012. In 2013 in partnership with Noel and Jan Schmidt from
the Pampoola Stud, we purchased Canowindra Kentucky (PS) for $22000. Kentucky is a long bull with plenty
of Santa breed character and the tidiest sheath around, his first sons are being offered this year. 2014 we
purchased Rosevale Jubilee, a very quiet polled bull with an excellent sheath. His calves are brilliant and we
look forward to offering them next year.
All of our cattle are Breedplan registered. We select our females firstly on fertility; all must have a calf each
year, and secondly on performance; each female must consistently produce a calf that will classify. Failure to
meet these criteria leads to a short trip to the meatworks. Consequently we have a high pregnancy rate each
year and very high classification rates 80%+.
As we were a single sire herd for many years our cows are all related and their offspring are very similar. The Bulls
we are producing are a popular type and their pre-potency has been a major contributing factor in our success.
For the past 30 years the Stud has shown and has had increasing success, winning Champion Interbreed
ribbons at many Darling Downs Shows and Champions at the Toowoomba Royal. Dundee Tapestry was the
Grand Champion Female at the 2010 Toowoomba Royal Show and Dundee YMCA was Junior Champion Bull in
2012. We have had tremendous success with our commercial cattle as well, winning the ‘Replacement Heifer’
class at the Inglewood Show for four consecutive years before retiring gracefully, and our Santa cross weaners
have made sale yard records many times.
The Bull Sales have been excellent with an average of $4000 over the last ten years.
Every year we contact all of our clients and assess our bull’s performance and our client satisfaction and to
date we have had very positive feedback.
Our commercial clients are keen to put muscle and weight for age improvements into their herd and repeat
buyers have been impressed by the fertility of the bulls, their temperament and their doing ability. All of the
Bulls are prepared on oats and summer forage and not grain. We have made a real effort to select for easy
doing cattle that have good feet and high fertility, three things that can be affected by too much grain.

IMPORTANT NOTICE
All bids shall be treated as offers made upon
1. The highest bidder shall, subject to Condition 2, be the Purchaser provided that the Vendor reserves the right to bid
either by himself or through his Agent or Auctioneer and should any dispute arise among the bidders for any lot,
during or immediately after the sale of the lot, it shall be settled at the Auctioneers absolute discretion who may,
should one of the disputants advance, put the lot or lots up again. The bidding from time to time shall be regulated
by the Auctioneer and no bid shall be retracted.
2. The sale will be conducted on a “Sale” or “No Sale” basis whereby the lot for sale shall be knocked down to
the highest bidder, but the sale will be subject to the acceptance of the highest bid by the Vendor who will
immediately after the fall of the hammer declare “Sale” or “No Sale”. Should the Vendor reject the bid of the highest
bidder such bidder will have the right of first refusal of the lot at the Vendor’s nominated price for one hour after
the lot has been passed out of the ring on the Terms and Conditions herein set forth in so far as they shall apply.
3. The details of the Purchaser, the purchase price and the lot sold as recorded by the sale clerk for and on behalf of
the Auctioneer shall be equally binding on both Purchaser and Vendor.
4. The Auctioneer expressly reserves the right, without giving any reasons therefore, to:
(a) Refuse to acknowledge any bid;
(b) Withdraw any lot or lots before or during the sale;
(c) Exclude any person from the auction venue should it think fit.
5. Each lot in all cases shall be at the risk and expense of the Purchaser upon acceptance of his bid by the Vendor or
upon acceptance of the highest bidder’s offer by the Vendor whichever shall be the earlier.
6. Except as expressly provided in these Terms and Conditions of Sale no guarantee or warranty shall be given in
respect of any lot sold under these Conditions as to pedigree, sex, age, breeding condition or otherwise howsoever,
and no guarantee, warranty or condition whatsoever shall be implied from any affirmation made before or at the
time of the sale, or from any circumstances of the sale, but in all cases where a guarantee is intended the same
shall attach and be enforceable only if reduced to writing before delivery of the lot and signed by the Vendor or by
the Auctioneer acting as agent for the Vendor, and the absence of such writing shall be conclusive evidence in case
of dispute that no guarantee, warranty or condition whatsoever was given or implied.
7. In the event of any dispute in respect to the sale of any lot:
(i) The Purchaser shall nevertheless be obliged to pay to the Auctioneer the full purchase price and any other
monies or interest payable by the Purchaser in accordance with these terms and conditions;
(ii) The Vendor and the Purchaser shall resolve the dispute between themselves;
(iii) The Auctioneer shall have no liability or responsibility in regard to the dispute; and
(iv) No lot shall be returned to the Auctioneer and the Purchaser shall indemnify the Auctioneer for all costs,
expenses and damages which the Auctioneer is put to or incurs by reason of the Purchaser so doing.
8. The name of the Vendor for whom the Auctioneer acts is acknowledged to have been furnished to Purchasers prior
to the sale and further particulars will in all cases be furnished to a Purchaser if required. In the case of any disputes
the remedy of the Purchaser shall be against the Vendor only and in no case or under any circumstances against
the Auctioneer who is to be regarded for all intents and purposes as agent for a disclosed principal.
9. (a) PAYMENT – Unless prior credit arrangements have been made in writing with the Auctioneer the full
purchase price for each lot shall be due and payable to the Auctioneer in cash upon acceptance of the highest
bid or the highest bidder’s offer by the Vendor and prior to delivery. Notwithstanding that delivery is given to
or possession obtained by the purchaser or his representative prior to the payment of the purchase money
in full the property in any lot which is sold shall not pass to the Purchaser until the full purchase price and all
cheques, promissory notes, bills of exchange, acceptance orders or drafts given in connection with such
payment have been paid and liquidated, and until property shall pass, the Purchaser shall hold such lot as
bailee, provided that in all cases should such payment not have been made and liquidated within 14 days of
the date of the sale the Auctioneer reserves the right to:–
(i) Rescind the contract on behalf of the Vendor and repossess and resell any lot;
(ii) Recover from the Purchaser interest upon the purchase price at a rate per annum which aggregates the
AMBA Bill Rate plus two percentum. For the purposes of this condition, the expression “the AMBA Bill
Rate” is the rate published by the Australian Merchant Bankers Association in good faith as at the date
of the sale as its bill rate for 180 day bills of exchange expressed as a percentage per annum. If at any
time the AMBA Bill Rate becomes unavailable for any reason, the Auctioneer shall determine and advise
the Purchaser of the interest rate to apply for the purposes of this condition.
(b) The Auctioneer is selling as the del credere agent of the Vendor and the full purchase price of any lot sold shall
be payable by the Purchaser to the Auctioneer and be fully recoverable by the Auctioneer in its own name.
10. If the Purchaser shall neglect or fail to comply with any of the within conditions, any lot purchased by him may be
immediately resold by public auction or private contract, with or without notice, at the risk of the former Purchaser,
who will be held responsible for all loss and expenses arising out of such resale, and shall not participate in any
profit accruing therefrom.

11. Any Vendor or Purchaser removing the sale number from any lot after it has been sold will fully indemnify all
affected parties for any loss, costs or damage should the lot be wrongly delivered.
12. The Purchasers, if any more than one, shall be jointly and severally bound by these Terms and Conditions, and shall
jointly and severally carry out and perform same.
13. Any person who advances a bid on a lot shall do so on the expressed condition and understanding that should that
person’s bid be the highest bid and such bid is accepted by the Vendor, then that person will be held personally
liable for the price so agreed upon, regardless of the fact that that person may be acting on behalf of another
party, either disclosed or undisclosed to the Vendor or Auctioneer, provided however, that this Condition shall not
in any way negate the Vendor’s right to claim against any principal and in such case the bidder’s liability shall be
construed to be by way of guarantee.
14. The Auctioneer may, should it think fit, make arrangements on a Purchaser’s behalf for the feeding, watering,
trucking, shipping of and general attendance to any lot after sale but no responsibility will be accepted by the
Auctioneer and all such service will be at the Purchaser’s risk and expense.
15. No lot will be delivered until the sales invoice has been checked and signed by the Purchaser or his duly authorised
representative.
16. (a) Each lot in all cases shall be sold with all faults, if any, and excepting those conditions and warranties
implied by the Trade Practices Act or any applicable State legislation which cannot be contractually excluded
and excepting conditions and warranties expressly contained in these Terms and Conditions of Sale, any
express or implied condition, statement of warranty, statutory or otherwise, is hereby excluded. The
Auctioneer is not liable in respect of any error, misdescription or omission in any particulars appearing
or stated regarding the description of pedigrees of any lot offered for sale and no such error, misdescription
of omission shall entitle the Purchaser to annual the sale or reject the lot or claim any compensation, damage
or abatement in price.
(b) Each lot will be sold subject to passing all veterinary tests required by the law of the state or country to which
the Purchaser intends to transport that particular lot, such tests to be undertaken at the Purchaser’s expense
and concluded immediately following the sale. In the event of a lot failing to pass these tests, the sale shall be
null and void, any purchase moneys paid by the Purchaser shall be refunded and property in the lot shall
revert to or remain with the Vendor.
17. In the event of a dispute as to whether a lot is a breeder, such dispute shall be resolved by the Vendor and the
Purchaser. The Auctioneer, while he will use his best endeavours to assist, shall have no liability or responsibility
in that regard. If an animal is alleged or proved not to be a breeder, the Purchaser must nevertheless pay the
Auctioneer the full purchase price and any other monies or interest payable by the Purchaser in accordance with
these Terms and Conditions.
18. (a) Each lot shall be at the risk of the Vendor in respect of any damage or injury, whether by disease, accident
or otherwise, for the period that the lot be in the custody of the auctioneer, PROVIDED THAT the Auctioneer,
its servants, agents and employees shall use all reasonable care to protect and control the lot while it is in the
auctioneer’s custody AND PROVIDED THAT when a lot has been sold, it shall be at the risk of the purchaser in
all respects.
(b) If any Vendor brings to the sale premises any lot which is dangerous, or infected with any disease, that Vendor
shall be liable for all injury, damages, costs, losses or expenses which the Auctioneer may sustain, incur or
be put to either directly or indirectly as a result of the Vendor so doing. The Auctioneer reserves the right, at its
absolute discretion, to exclude from the sale, or put out of the sale venue or dispose of, any lot which in
its opinion shows signs of any disease, whether infectious, contagious or not, or of any serious fault or of
being dangerous.
19. DELIVERY — Except at the discretion of the Auctioneer no lot shall be delivered to the Purchaser unless payment
of the purchase money together with any additional charges incurred including those expenses incurred by the
Auctioneer pursuant to Condition 14 hereof, is first made by the Purchaser to the Auctioneer. Release of lots may
be withheld by the Auctioneer until personal cheques are cleared.
20. In these Conditions:—
(a) References to “Auctioneer” shall be taken to mean as the context so admits, the Selling Agent or any member,
subsidiary or related corporation or body, officer, agent or employee thereof, authorised by the Vendor to
conduct the sale of the lot;
(b) “Purchaser” shall have the meaning ascribed to it in Condition 1;
(c) “Vendor” shall mean the person or corporation upon whose account lots are offered for sale and where
a stud or farm is named shall mean the proprietor of that stud or farm;
(d) “Lot” shall be taken to mean the animal offered for sale and/or sold by the Auctioneer on behalf of a Vendor.
