PROLiNK WNR1004 (2T2R) Universal Repeater Setup Guide • Connect the LAN cable included, from the LAN port on your WNR1004 to a PC, SWITCH TO AP MODE FIRST, before switching on the device. • Set Static IP to PC Step 1: Go to Control Panel on your PC Step 2: Go to Network and Sharing Step 3: Click on Change Adaptor Settings Step 4: Right Click on Local Area Connection Step 5: Go To Properties Step 6: Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPV4) , and Click Properties. Select Click Step 7: Check the “Use the following IP address” to key in the following IP Address: 192.168.123.100 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 Step 8: Go to your Web Browser (Internet Explorer/Safari/Google Chrome/Firefox). Key in the following address in your address bar, 192.168.123.254 After you press ENTER, you should be able to see a pop up requesting you for Username and Password, (if not, please repeat steps 1 – 7, if problem persist please call our service center) • Setting Router Configuration for Repeater Mode Step 1: Login to Router’s Configuration Page, a pop up should be onscreen, prompting for USERNAME and PASSWORD. Username: admin Password: password Step 2: Upon successful login, you will be able to see the router’s configuration page. Step 3: Click on Network on the left navigation panel. Step 4: Click on LAN Interface Setup Step 5: Change the IP Address to the same subnet as the AP you want to repeat. For Example: Main AP Gateway: 192.168.1.101 WNR1004 Repeater LAN Interface IP Address: 192.168.1.99 Step 6: Change your PC’s IP Address to the SAME subnet BUT different address. For Example: (Based on Step 5), Main AP Gateway: 192.168.1.101 WNR1004 Repeater LAN Interface IP Address: 192.168.1.99 *These two address has been used, and cannot be reused by the computer Therefore, PC’s IP Address will be: 192.168.1.100 (Steps to change PC’s IP Address are at the top, Please refer from step 1 -‐7 of “Setting Static IP to PC”) Step 7: Go back to the router’s configuration page by keying in “192.168.1.99” / or the IP Address which you have set for your WNR1004 LAN interface. Enter your USERNAME and PASSWORD when prompted. Step 8: PLEASE BE PREPARED WITH THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION FROM YOUR MAIN AP 1) SSID NAME OF MAIN AP (Wireless Name) 2) WIRELESS CHANNEL NUMBER (1~11) , if found out to be set to AUTO please select a channel you desire on your MAIN AP before proceeding 3) WIRELESS ENCRYTION FORMAT (WPA/WPA2, TKIP/AES) AND KEY (password) Step 9: Go to Wireless > Basic , Check “Enable Universal Repeater Mode….” , Key in your SSID NAME OF MAIN AP Step 10: Select the WIRELESS CHANNEL NUMBER OF YOUR MAIN AP Step 11: Click Apply Changes Step 12: Go to Wireless > Security > Select SSID (Select your MAIN AP’S SSID) Step 13: Make Sure all your ENCRYTION, AUTHENTICAITON MODE, WPA/WPA2 CIPHER SUITE and PASSPHRASE is IDENTICAL to your MAIN AP. Step 14: Apply Changes, after rebooting go to STATUS > Under Wireless Repeater Interface Configuration > State > Connected
