I: Francis P. Gagliardi and Maria Candelario
Dear Immaculate Conception Family,
I write to you today first, to thank you all for another great
carnival! What a blessed week, with NO RAIN! Words cannot
express my gratitude to Paul Mastrobuni and the Social
Activities Committee for all their hard work! Each year they
give us a great time to be together!
I am also writing to inform you that Father Martin will be leaving
us for four months to assist at Our Lady of Perpetual Help
Parish in Bernardsville, as their Spanish speaking priest takes
some time off. Father will be heading up to Bernardsville on
th
June 28 .
We have been truly blessed to have Father Martin with us for
so long. He has truly become a part of our ICC family and we
are happy to share him with OLPH. We look hopefully to his
return to us.
May God bless us all as we each do our best to build up the
great Body of Christ!
Servus,
Msgr. Joe

CHOOSE LIFE
“There is nothing more powerful than prayer
and fasting in the battle for true justice in our
country. It is the hope of the bishops that
these efforts will encourage real solidarity
among all people who are standing for the
precious gifts of life, marriage and religious
liberty.”

Springs, “The Bishop’s Voice: A Battle for True Justice,” The

ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT
Exposition, Adoration and Benediction of the Blessed
Sacrament is regularly held in our church every Friday from
7:00 PM until 8:15 PM. Any changes to this Friday schedule
will be noted in the bulletin and announced at mass.
th
Every 4 Friday of the month, all are invited to join the
Eucharistic Apostles of Divine Mercy reciting the Chaplet for
the Sick and Dying during Eucharistic Adoration.
HOSPITAL AND HOMEBOUND VISITATION
Visits are made to St. Peter’s and Robert Wood Johnson
Hospital weekly. If you have a family member in either of
these two hospitals or any of the area hospitals, please call the
parish office and let us know.
Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist bring Communion to the sick and
homebound on a regular basis. If you are sick or confined at home and
would like a visit from a Eucharistic Minister, please call the parish office.
“He said to them, ‘Why are you afraid? Have you no faith?’” –
Mark 4:40
Most of us like to be in control. Loss of control
makes us fearful. Try changing your
perspective, let God be the pilot! There’s an old
saying “do you want to make God laugh? Tell
him your plans.” Put your trust in God, He
always has a better plan!
THE DIVINE MERCY CHAPLET
The Chaplet of Divine Mercy will be publicly prayed Monday Friday following the 9:30 am mass and every Saturday after
the 8:30 am mass in the Church Cry Room. This will bring
many graces and blessings to our parish family. We all have
many intentions and this is a powerful devotion to draw down
all the graces we need especially at this critical time in our
nation and culture. Come join with us after Mass and
experience for yourself the "font of love, peace and mercy that
Jesus promises to those who honor Him with this devotion!"
For more information, you can contact Sandy Cunningham at
609-664-2360.
EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS OF THE EUCHARIST
Sign-ups for the months of July and
August will take place this weekend after
all masses in the sacristy. Please sign up

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN BECOMING CATHOLIC
OR COMPLETING YOUR SACRAMENTS?
The RCIA, which stands for Rite of Christian Initiation of
Adults, is a process through which non-baptized men and
women enter the Catholic Church.
It includes several stages marked by
study, prayer and rites at Mass.
Participants in the RCIA are known
as Catechumens. They undergo a
process of conversion as they study
the Gospel, profess faith in Jesus
and the Catholic Church, and receive the sacraments of
Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Eucharist.
Also included in the RCIA are Candidates. These are baptized
Christians who are seeking Confirmation and Holy Eucharist
which will bring them to full communion with the Catholic
Church.
th
Classes will start on June 23 in the school classroom,
room 4, at 7:00 p.m. If you are interested in attending,
please call the rectory (732-251-3110) or e-mail
[email protected]. Please leave your name and
phone number. We will get back to you promptly.
GROWING
YOUTH GROUP NEWS
IN FAITH TOGETHER
GIFT is family-based, rather than strictly classroom based,
religious education held once a month instead of every week.
The children and their parents attend one three-hour session
each month, based on their choice at registration and
availability of space in each session. The family attends the
same weekday and time each month. Most sessions are
planned to be on or near the third/fourth weekend of each
month. At this time, families with children with special needs
will have their session on Saturdays only.
Each month a new educational topic is discussed. The entire
group meets first in the Cafeteria, where prayer and a light
meal take place. Then Grades K through 8 participate in age
appropriate classroom instruction while the parents/adults have
a speaker in the Cafeteria to inform them of the month’s topic.
All children return to their respective families near the end of
the session to discuss that month’s topic together. Dismissal
with prayer and the monthly handout for families to continue
their education together until next month is last. Adult children
or family members, in addition to those pre-registered, are
welcome each month. Childcare, for children age 2-5 who are
potty trained, is also offered. ALL PARISHIONERS ARE
INVITED TO ATTEND
We will have 6 sessions (3rd / 4th weekend of the month - dates will
vary)
– Saturday 9am to 12pm
– Monday 6pm to 9pm
– Sunday 10:15am to 1:15pm
– Tuesday 5pm to 8pm
Registration is offered on a first come, first-served basis. Class
size will be limited. Please mail or hand-deliver your
COMPLETED registration form WITH the registration fee to the
GIFT office. All currently registered families received
registration forms in their respective G.I.F.T. folders during
April G.I.F.T. sessions. New registrants may obtain a
registration form with complete instructions from the table in
the lobby or at the GIFT Office (Room 4) in the school.

FATHER’S DAY
A Stewardship Reflection
Father’s Day reminds us that fathers are a tremendous source
of love, strength and protection for a child. Notwithstanding the
faithful and heroic efforts of single moms bringing up children
in today’s society, children still need to be around Christian
men who are positive role models; men who are actively
involved in their life of faith, possess spiritual passion, and are
faithful fathers and husbands.
On Father’s Day, let us give thanks for all the men in our lives
who are positive role models and ask Our Lord to bless all
fathers, especially our own.
Whatever time we have is a gift from God and we are asked to
use it wisely, to serve God and others.

PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY
Over the centuries, prayer shawls have come to symbolize
shelter, peace and spiritual sustenance. The members of our
Prayer Shawl Ministry have lovingly donated their time and
talents by creating hand-knitted and crocheted shawls, filled
with the power of prayer, for those in need. The prayer shawl
maker begins with prayers and blessings for the recipient. The
intentions are continued throughout the creation of the shawl.
Upon completion, a final blessing is offered before the shawl is
sent on its way. The blessing of the Prayer Shawl provides
healing and comfort to the sick, the lonely and the elderly. Like
all acts of generosity, the presentation of a Prayer Shawl
enriches the giver as well as the recipient. The blessing
ripples from person-to-person, with both the giver and receiver
feeling the unconditional embrace of a sheltering, loving God!
Since the first official meeting of the Prayer Shawl Ministry in
June 2010, we have distributed 103 shawls and 18 lap
blankets. Our thanks to everyone who contributed to this
venture so far. To request a prayer shawl, please call Maria
Tiberi at 732-254-1775, or Paula Liquari at 732-251-0586.
